Was an awesome day to take a ride up to snow basin resort. No snow or skiing but was a cool Place to check out. The winding road up led you along a winding creek/river depending on your view point. All the housing along this water way was built in such a way to take advantage of the water. One place it was running under the house. Not sure about tht but I guess they have a handle on it. I imagine it could be a tough drive in the winter with ice and snow.this place must really get active during the ski season as their park areas are huge. In the off season they have hiking and biking available, mini golf, outdoor music and arts events as well as mountain top dining and a kids zone Thts open year around read more

This resort has beautiful hikes and biking trails. Never busy, one can enjoy the serene setting and wildlife here. There are trees and wild flowers galore! Missing restaurants and shopping like the bigger resorts makes it our 3rd option when wanting to hit the mountains. My only complaint is all the disgusting doggy bags left by owners on the side of the hiking trails. Pick up your trash and dump it in the correct bins. read more

Snowbasin is an excellent ski resort. We unfortunately went when there was minimal snow, but even still was impressed by the amenities and staff working. The inside of the lodges are very fancy and ornate, the bathrooms are vast and very private. The food was good and on par for ski resort prices. It's nice that there's ikon pass accessibility. Getting to the resort is relatively easy, it was a quick 10 minute drive from Morgan. I'd like to come back when they have more snow to see how it really feels on all the runs. read more

First time on the last day of the season. Vibes were high and the park laps were so fun! How have I not rode here before? Living at the mouth of LCC I've never thought much of wondering north but I'm glad I did! Snowbasin was legit and the jumps were dialed! If you have chairlift anxiety, you found your resort! When I was a beginner I used to be so scared of face planting getting off the lifts, the speed, the swinging, heights, etc, that I would always search yelp to see any tips specifically talking about the chairlifts. The MAIN way to go up to the top for blues/black runs here is on the gondola!! Once you're up, you just walk out, buckle in, then board/ski down the long run to the base. NICE LONG RUNs and trails. (There are options along the way towards the bottom to catch an actual chairlift for shorter runs). There are also chairlifts at the bottom to go to greens. They stop quite a bit going up though. Medium speed at the top to unload. Parking gets crazy here. ikon pass works on the uta bus, which is probably your best bet to avoid the parking and traffic. **Ikon pass is new here, they can't scan through your jacket so be sure to have a land yard. read more

My first visit to Snowbasin was for the summertime beer and blues festival. I was excited to visit as they allow dogs and it seemed like a fun event with different bands each week. Having contacted Snowbasin before making the decision to come, I had been told that I could bring refillable water bottles with me for my dogs. However, when I got there, they were making everyone pour their water out. This makes it very difficult if you are alone with your dog as there is not anywhere to get water outside. When I asked about this, and shared the email I had received from Snowbasin, the person I had written to appeared and was totally helpful with holding my dogs so I could get some water inside. I had originally bought a lift ticket and took my dogs hiking before heading back down to enjoy more of the festival. The festivals Snowbasin has are such an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. I love that they allow dogs to visit for these festivals! My only wish is that they had access to a water fountain outside available for any patrons. I am sure many people would use this water instead of having to go inside their buildings. read more

Snowbasin is not friendly to Seniors or locals. I had a very bad experience today, I went to pick up my season pass, only to be informed by the a worker at the yurt/ place to get your pass, after waiting about twenty minutes. Security arrived to I tell me I was trespassing and needed to leave and I no longer had a pass and I would not be reimbursed The $1000 for the price of the season pass. This person was very abrasive and belittling . My guess it was related to an incident a few months ago whenI tried to ride on the bike trail with a bog off leash. I found snow basin not to be to friendly to locals or seniors. read more

Cinnabar gastropub @ Snowbasin is well worth the drive, with and without snow to ski! The staff is exceptional - Mike Muir retained a neck scarf for me for 3 weeks - he did not know my name, but miraculously, remembered me when I sat down at the bar and brought it to me. Bear in mind the hundreds of people that are in that venue. Mike and Ian, bartender deliver 110% on customer service being attentive without overbearing, and insuring that every dining experience is a positive one. I have skied Snowbasin since 1977, never before have I been more disappointed than I have been today. Don't get me wrong the skiing is great, but the crowds are over the top. everywhere I go the hill looks like someone stepped on an ant hill. i have always enjoyed coming a bit early and having a nice fresh cooked breakfast, now the best you can get is a precooked sandwich (cold at best), I knew a little of Earl Holding before his death, he would have been so disappointed. good thing he has passed on to a better place read more

I came here for the beer and blues festival. I love that they allow dogs. I understand that there is a strict no cooler policy however it would be nice to be allowed to bring in water. I know you can bring in an empty container and fill it at the resort, but I was alone and so I had nowhere to put my dog in order to go inside the resort to fill my water bottle or get water for my dog. Just the suggestion would be is to have a couple of water filling stations outside the resort in addition to the beer gardens not only for the customers but also for the hot pups. read more

What's not to love about Snowbasin! Such a fun destination year round. I've always loved coming in the summer for their summer concerts and hiking, or the fall for all the beautiful colors. But this year I finally decided to give in to winter and give snowboarding a try. If you've never skied/snowboarded before you will not find a better deal than Snowbasin. They have a learn and earn program that seems to good to be true where you get 3 all day lessons, season rental and a season pass. I just finished up my lessons and they were great. All of the instructors were super helpful, and while I won't be heading to the Olympics any time soon I can at least make it down the mountain in one piece. read more

I went here as a new skier in January. They have free parking but the line into the resort is relatively long. I recommend carpooling with friends. There is no ski bus into this resort as far as I know. The lift to the greens is really fast, so be prepared to jump off. Also, avoid the barbecue chicken pizza. It's close to $9 and it's disgusting. I love the lounge area. It is spacious with nice couches downstairs and the facilities are clean. I liked the bunny slope. It is very flat. I do have one thing to add to this review. The Saturday that we were here, it was SUPER busy. There was no place to sit and I was exhausted. I heard one of the staff members mentioning how they hoped they hit me in the face when they were walking by, because I was in the way. I was physically unable to move at the time due to muscle depletion after skiing for several hours. I was one of many people on the floor and had taken a spot when someone else moved. Very rude staff in the lodge considering the over crowded conditions and I had to eat my pizza on the floor. read more

Visited family in Ogden, and they took us here on a sunny fall Saturday afternoon. Snowbasin Resort is a very nice place. We walked around and then took the gondola up to the top. The sights were amazing, even with no snow. Once we got to the top, we didn't get to go inside the lodge because there was a wedding - boo! Otherwise, it was beautiful being up there and we got to sit and listen to a band play as wedding guests arrived. That was nice. Overall, we had a great experience... maybe we'll visit again when there is snow. read more

I enrolled my son for 4 full day lessons and had decent instructors the first 3 days but then on the 4th day (btw amazing instructor on day 3), Snow Basin didn't have enough instructors for group lessons, so they put kids on VERY different levels all in one group. There were kids still doing "pizza"while other kids have already achieved majority of the skills as an advanced skier. I think it's perfectly fine to put kids on different levels in one group, especially in snowy conditions. He can always continue to practice the skills that he has learned previously; however if he has to constantly stop and wait because other kids are falling then what's the benefit of taking lessons? Then we asked to see if they can review and make sure the groups at least have kids on similar level. They said that because it's group lesson that there is nothing that they can do. Also, kids are given report cards after each lesson, then what is the purpose of report cards if they won't put kids on similar levels together? There are kids who haven't achieved half of the skills of the other kids, all in one group. Btw, my son is a super cautious kid, and I am super conservative on putting my kids ski level. Even though he has skied for 4 years, I still put him as beginner/intermediate. What made it really upsetting was that we felt we were discriminated because the director, Krista said you only spend a few thousand dollars, if you spend over $10K then maybe we can do something about it. That is total discrimination. There were multiple witnesses that heard her say that. Of course I'm sure if you now ask the workers, they won't admit it, afraid to lose their jobs. If that not discrimination I don't know what is, so because I didn't spend over $10k, it's ok to treat us differently? What kind of ski resort is this? Your kids will be put in groups with other kids at very different levels, green, blue, or black, maybe all in one group. It doesn't matter. They don't assess based on levels even though they act like they do by giving the kids report cards. Your kids may be at a lower level but they will group them with kids on super high level and vice versa. If you have lower level kids, this will be very dangerous, and if you have higher level skiers, then you just spend the money, and they may not learn anything. We have been to different ski resorts in Utah and Denver, and this is the first time that they do not consider the kids levels and provided service based on how much you spent. read more

One of the ski resorts close to Ogden where we were staying during our UT trip. If you like variety and are more than a novice skier, than this is the place for you. There are quite a few ski lifts and at least two gondolas. Many places to rest your weary body or refuel. A nice sized store selling moderately priced souvenirs and ski apparel. After two days of skiing Park City, this was not as fun. Please bear in mind that I only just learned how to ski last month and need easy(er) ski hills. Maybe I'm just too cautious. Now we know why this is the locals favorite ski resort. We skied from 9am-4pm with a small break after lunch when we did a little shopping in the store. Oh, thank you Snowbasin for the free hot dogs from 11-2 today! Maybe the next time we come to ski in UT I will be a more advanced skier. Every one who works here is super nice, friendly, and helpful. I loved Snowbasin Resort. What a beautiful resort. The hills are quite challenging and the equipment is certainly high-quality. One of the big pluses to this resort is their gondola. The trip down from the top of the hill was magnificent. My wife, who is a beginner skier, did not like it as much. I'm converted. I grew up at Snowbird, left UT for San Diego 12 years ago, and kept coming back to the Bird. But prices and crowds had me dreading it this holiday week. A friend recommended Snowbasin so we gave it a try today, it was incredible! Sure it was busy but never felt like I was in traffic, way better infrastructure to and from the resort. Reasonable, not cheap, but fair lift ticket pricing. There were 3 of us so we got great carpool parking. Beautiful setting and great snow conditions considering how little has fallen this year so far. Legit terrain, plenty of challenge to relive glory days long lost. Plenty of high speed lifts, no wind, blue bird conditions. Turkey Pot Pie was off the charts in a beautiful well-laid out lodge. Friendly lifties and service staff. Cool locals, not snobby, such a great vibe. I'll be back. read more

Everyone I talked to who works here is friendly and when I was sitting halfway down a run to take a little break, the ski patrol going by asked if I needed help. was once a beloved resort, i grew up going to this place but they seem to raise the price every year. it's to the point where i can't even afford to go anymore. a day pass is $290 and a half day pass (12:30-4) is $179 and a season pass is $1900. it is ridiculous and nothing is worth paying that, not only that the whole park is full of snobby rich skiers that try to run you off the trail because you're riding a snowboard and how much cooler you are then them scares them more than the wife they have to go home too after. i hate this resort because it's really fun, but i can't go, it's the only resort that's reasonable to drive up too and close and i know it like the back of my hand, and still i refuse to pay $1900 for a season pass especially with barely any snow these past few years. they seem to raise the price every year to lower the amount of people going up there, and it does create gross environment full of rich snobby people, im not even being over dramatic it's true. a park full of rich people means it's full of skiers which means they shove you when you're walking up to the line or even run you off the trail (this has happened to me on multiple occasions) and it means moguls galore, and if you're carrying a snowboard the snobs kids literally make fun of you in the lines (only if you're holding a snowboard) usually making fun of your clothes (happens very often) it's made me not even want to snowboard anymore because utahns love to make everything plastic and social hierarchy. ministry of joy that still hasn't laughed am i right? but yeah toxic environment, beautiful and fun runs but of course the parasites took it over with their money and their skis and they took something great and ruined it like they always do. so if you're reading this and you're a rich snobby skier most likely above the age of 50 and you don't like black people or people who ride snowboards thanks for being nothing but a cancer against the human spirit, and the collective consciousness that is god, and have fun in your plastic prison afterlife full of people just like you. to the owner of snowbasin, ILL KEEP THEM ICE CAPS MELTING AND SIP MY GLACIER WATER AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A DAY PASS ABOVE $50 AND GOT THEM SLOW SIGNS EVERYWHERE... I'm going to go ahead and give snowbasin 5-stars. It's a great ski resort with a lot of terrain and very good food. You will not find better lodges ANYWHERE in the United States. Nothing like stepping into a lodge to a crackling fire and then eating good food. This is my first year getting a season pass to the resort. I have skied my whole life but really wanted to venture out and try some new resorts this year. As an FYI if you get a full season pass to snowbasin you get 5 days of skiing at Sun Valley. As far as terrain goes, the runs are very open. The resort is quite rocky so it needs a lot of snow to really get the whole mountain open. You can find some steep stuff and good groomers. Really something for everyone. Also, they've got quite a bit of parking and don't have as many access issues as the cottonwood canyons. So that's a plus. They are currently partnering with the EPIC pass (l wish that would end) so if you've got an EPIC pass you get days to the resort. Go up and enjoy some great views, great skiing and great food. read more

This is probably my favorite ski resort in northern Utah to WFH at. The fire place is the perfect place to post up while churning out some reports, then you take a break and get in a gondola heading up the mountain for some epic powder. Bonus points if you show up on a sunny day or if it's overcast you get fresh snowfall. Awesome coffee, delicious food options and a few nice spaces with extra privacy for virtual meetings. The resort is cool, the mountain itself has great runs. The disappointing thing that's happened for 2022, is that the prices have gone up dramatically. It's no longer super affordable for locals or people with kids. As Utah grows, so does the prices at all of the ski resorts. read more

The lodge is small but beautiful. It would get a much higher rating if the bathrooms weren't so darned inconvenient and sparse. Chugging up and down stairs with ski boots is difficult and apparently something Snowbasin's architect never experienced. No restrooms on the slopes except for Needles. Rentals? RENT ELSEWHERE!! For single day rental they are ok but for multi day they are very pricey and inconvenient. I've rented all over the country and this place is the least convenient yet charges a premium (50% over Ogden city rentals). They have No storage for boots and skis which means you need to schlep your skis back to the car (which is a long way because parking is scarce) and then to your hotel room and back the next day! You get all this lack of service and pay an extra $50 for the privilege of carrying their crap to and from the car/hotel. We love this place. Strangely enough, we are up here much more during the summer than we ever are during the winter time, even though it is a ski resort so my review will be concentrating on the summer activities! All summer long they host the "Blues, Brews & Barbecue" event, every Sunday with great bands, delicious food and plenty of beer and cocktails available. It has become a summer weekend thing for our family to do. We love sitting out on the grass and listening to the music and enjoying the summer sun and relaxing atmosphere. There are also fun things for the kids to do, such as hiking, playground and bungee trampolines. The gondola up to Needles lodge is a fun, relaxing ride and the scenery and views from the gondola ride and the top are nothing short of amazing. Tasty food can be had up at this lodge as well and we have come up for breakfast/brunch on a number of occasions. Most recently we were up at Needles lodge for the Solar Eclipse and it was fantastic to see it from so high up in the mountains! My only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the food and beer pricing. Yes, I grew up around ski resorts and yes, I know they are always pricey for food and drinks. Doesn't mean it's right or that I have to like it. If they lowered the prices on these things, I think more people would be able to enjoy their lodge and restaurants. read more

I went here with 3 other friends we all have the same ikon pass. we had been boarding for 2 hours, when this old lady with glasses Joanne grabs my pass says it doesn't work and I have to leave?? wTF I then talk to another lady who can't tell me anything but tells me I have to spend over $200 to ski for the day? This is a scam. Target one in a group so they pay so everyone doesn't have to leave? No evidence as to why my pass was targeted, It worked the next day at Solitude. My friends said hell no and we left. Basin is working a scam we saw Joanne targeting everyone, she's trying to trap people to get more money for basin. read more

Save your money and time. Wow, I am never going here again. I got my snowboard stolen from this mountain yesterday along with 2 other guys. First off, I have never even heard of someone getting ski equipment stolen in my 18 years of snowboarding and second off the staff could not be more unhelpful. The lost and found team was ridiculous. They just kept telling me no one steals equipment here and that they aren't going to put a claim in (meanwhile, they have 3 guys complaining that there equipment was taken.) After an hour or 2 of arguing, the security team finally looked at the camera footage and determined that someone (not in snowboard clothes) had walked up, taken the board, and walked away. (clearly not an accident) Instead of doing something about the situation they just gave me a claim ticket and told me to file a claim with homeowners insurance to get my money back instead of dealing with the ongoing theft problem. Like what? Then today I just got off the phone with Lost and Found where they kept me on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up on me. When calling back the girl told me she forgot to look and was busy doing other things. This is the most unprofessional I have ever seen a mountain operating staff especially when they talk so highly of themselves--such a shame. I will take my money elsewhere. read more

I woke up early to come ski this legendary Utah ski resort and I got a pair of rental skis and then waited an hour to get up on the gondola. As I got to the top I went to put my skis on and the binding was too small, so I couldn't get my boot in. I rode back down and got some new rentals. When I got back up, shockingly the binding was too small again. I begrudgingly went down again, head held low full of embarrassment as I tried one more time. I asked this time to make sure the binding would fit, and the guy told me that they will no problem. I head back up to the top to shred some mad gnar abs guess what, they didn't fit for a third time. I went back down to the base and drank some unbelievable beer and ended up having a great time, although I didn't ski once in the seven hours I was here. One of the best ski resorts in Utah! The lodges at the resort are top notch and they have three of them. Main lodge at the base and two lodges at the top, food is awesome with plenty of choices. Parking is free and there is plenty of it with pick up service that drives on the border of the lots for skier pickup. read more
