    Shrimp fried rice

The same usual Chinese food joint. The chow mein however was not Noodles- it was made from cabbage which I was surprised. The rice and chicken was really good. They did not have sesame chicken on the menu though.

    Cashew chicken—chewy and overcooked.

I tried East China for lunch, and was unimpressed. I ordered cashew chicken off of the lunch specials menu...the chicken was stringy and overcooked, and the vegetables were far from fresh. They had the texture of chewy cardboard, like they had been frozen and reheated before being added to the sauce. Fried rice was bland. Egg drop soup was fine.

General Tso Chicken, pork fried rice, and egg roll.

Best Chinese food in Montgomery! I'm pretty picky when it comes to Chinese food. I've lived all over the country and the northeast seems to be the best. After trying East China in Montgomery, I have to say it's probably my favorite Chinese restaurant ever. The employees are nice and attentive and the food is delicious!

There is a table with utensils, sauces, napkins, menus, and fortune cookies to your left, seating to your right, and an order/pickup window directly in front of you. I decided to order online but online ordering was closed. It was 8:30 pm and they closed at 9 pm so I was cutting it a bit close. I figured I would have to choose another restaurant but when I called the lady that answered the phone assured me it was not too late to put an order in and I had a large one. So large, we were given two egg rolls and ten Chinese donuts for free. It was a pleasant surprise. Ten minutes for enough to feed a small army. When I arrived it was almost closing time. I was greeted warmly and my food was indeed ready and smelled amazing! I was encouraged to help myself to their condiment table and snagged utensils, chopsticks, soy sauce, fortune cookies, and napkins. Unpacking the food was shocking to say the least and not in a bad way. The amount of food crammed into the package was insane. We split every dish three ways and still had leftovers on the dinner combinations! Before I get into the food itself let me tell you this restaurant does something I really like and appreciate. They ask how spicy you want your items. They have three spice levels. Hot, Mild, and Not. I like a little spice but I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a dish so spicy I couldn't eat it and my parents can't take spice at all so it was nice to know we could eat what we were ordering. The food was fresh and piping hot. I've had an issue with some Chinese places "double dipping or frying" foods. You know when you see that tan brown color that the food is old and it's tough, hard, and overly greasy. It's pretty nasty to be honest. There was none of that here. Everything was light colored, fresh, soft and utterly delicious. My family went on and on about how good everything was. Our egg rolls were crisp but soft. The crab rangoons, were crisp, soft, and the filling was just perfect - not too sweet but not sour. Our Hot and Sour soup was the best we've had in the area. The House Lo Mein was not greasy and yes it's been a thing with other restaurants. It was perfectly loaded with veggies, chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. We each got a dinner combination plate. They included fried rice and an egg roll for under $8! With the amount of food you get, it's a steal! Our entrees were Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. Everything was expertly cooked. I asked for light spice on the Mongolian beef and it was delicious, as were the other dishes. We finished up with the free donuts. They were nice, fresh, and still hot! We had leftovers for lunch today and it heated up terrifically. I will most definitely be going back. I have no complaints whatsoever except that I got full way too soon. You should try this place. I highly recommend it.

There were two females in front of the restaurant before I went in prior to ordering that drop kicked meals that looked like it came from here as well . However, only about 15 minutes after ordering, I received a nearly frantic phone call from the restaurant, seemingly anxious about whether I was coming to pick it up. I suppose they're passionate about not letting orders go to waste, but it came off as a bit much. When it came to the food, it simply didn't hold up. The broccoli was undercooked, the lo mein lacked flavor, and the crab rangoons were overpoweringly garlicky--at least that's what it tasted like. The fried rice was slightly better, though still underwhelming. Honestly, it was the best part of the meal, which isn't saying much. The store itself looked like a typical Chinese takeout spot--nothing fancy, and not particularly well-kept. That said, I don't usually judge a place by its appearance, but unfortunately, the taste didn't make up for it. I wouldn't return for any of the food I tried, nor would I ever recommend it to somebody.

Parking is a little odd. There is a paid parking garage next to the Greyhound bus line, but no validation provided by the Thai resturant. There are some Railroad Thai-specifically labeled parking spots behind the resturant under the large covered platform building, but make sure you park in a labeled Thai parking spot and there are only a handfull of them. The Basil roll was good and fresh, but could have used more Basil in it and it would have been nice if the Tofu had been seasoned. The chicken Pad (Pud) Thai was good, and had a surprising amount of chicken and egg and beansprouts in it (a plus), but it was quite odd to be served alongside white rice. Not something I commonly see done and I eat a LOT of Thai food all across the USA. This must be their 'thing' though and I will say it was welcome because the dish itself was really soupy. Traditionally I see this when insufficient time is taken in the Wok to develop the sauce completely. I ordered the top spice level, extra hot, and it did indeed have spice within it; but native Thai nor experienced Thai-food eaters need concern themselves with it being close to 'too spicy'. Overall, it was a good place and I will probably consider returing again in the future.
