Best shop I've had the pleasure to work with!!! I've been out of the archery scene for awhile due to life changes, injury, etc. Decided I wanted to dip back into things and needed the bow tuned along with some new arrows etc. I'm a target archer...not a hunter....and decidedly out of practice. It's a touch embarrissing to walk into a busy shop with so many capable archers and be so shaky at full draw. (My fundamentals are okay but I need some conditioning.) The new owner Jon (and, it must be said, his supporting staff) have simply been fantastic!!! Zero judgement!! Didn't make me feel small for not arriving with a camo painted 80lb hunting bow that I could hold at full draw for 10 minutes LOL (despite it being the start of hunting season when they're undoubtedly buried with work from that market segment.) His staff was welcoming & friendly to a person and he himself took a direct interest in my target gear, my target focused setup, and he spent more time than I should have expected talking setup, next steps, making recommendations, offering choices, and discussing with genuine interest, my goals and objectives on the indoor range. I'm a fan! If you are into archery, have thought about it, or just need something for your setup....these guys (and ladies) are the real deal matter what your focus might be! New Ownership within last 2 years. I could not be happier with my crossbow and the service I received going in to East Coast Archery. Jon sat me down and showed me the options and compared the different models showing me the differences, pros and cons. They have a huge selection of crossbows and compound bows. He had me shoot the final 3 crossbows I was trying to decide on. He again sat with me to make sure I understood how to properly use it and then we the used a Chronograph and dialed in the cross bow. Drove more than an hour away to get here. During this time I understand many places have to close down. I am and have always SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES and small mom and pop shops. Especially during this pandemic with many of those small businesses struggling, I figured to go and check this place out with a few fellows of mine to bring in some business for this place. I was very excited to get to try out and site in my new bow. Arrived and immediately I get the cold greeting from one of the people running the counters. Said I wanted to use the range and the response I get is shrugged off with uncertainty. Unbelievable. After a few eye rolls, he said we can go and settle in the range and he would be right over . At this point I ignored the cold welcome and paid no mind so I went in and do what I came to do. After a few mins they said we can go ahead and start using the range. Great! As I was setting up, I couldn't help but overhear a couple of small slurs about us as we were setting up. Mind you this place is a bit snug. So it echoes from one wall to the other of you were to talk loudly. About 5 mins after, there were a few more people coming in wanting to use the range. Before you know it, I hear "You. Come with me. Where are your other friends? We can't have you guys stay here. Our boss, who is not in today, said we can not exceed 10 ppl and we are overcapacity." Us? We were there first. Couldn't the next group wait or come back later until we get our time in? The answer is no. We were asked to leave immediately. If there was an issue with using the range or had ANY issue at all. I wished it was handled differently. Unfortunately, we will take our business elsewhere that would treat us fairly. read more

Great inventory with pretty much every brand of bow or accessory that you could want. Extremely helpful staff, with unmatched service- if you buy a bow from them, they'll service it for free. I had a problem with my bow only a few days before an long-planned elk hunting trip to Colorado. Jon (owner) came in after hours and worked on my bow for over an hour to get it back in shooting condition- at no charge. As most archers know, a "tune" is highly personalized so I expected to have to tinker with my bow for a while after he was done, but to my surprise I barely had to do anything and was shooting accurately with both broadheads and field points right away. Not only are they willing to help but they really know what they are doing. I live closer to 2 other bow shops (and have gone to both of them) but will continue to make the drive to Big Al's. Was a great shop with Danny as the owner and since Jon bought the place it's only gotten better. read more

I brought my bass pro bought PSE that I owned for a few years to the shop to get a new nock string tied on ,they did a great job getting it done right and let me use the range to make sure everything was good, I highly recommend them . read more

Overheard them talking a lot about us upon arrival. The greetings when we step foot in wasn't welcoming at all . Bad impression first off . BUT Told us they'll take us and let us settle in , once settled in told us we may use the range and start . 5 mins after a couple other people came in and asked us to leave because it's "overcapacity" . Unfortunately some friends of mine have experienced racism against the Asian community with this store. I will be passing this along to the Asian community to warn them. They are also not willing to apologize for any of the remarks made against my friends. They said they wanted to let my friends out of the store so the white customers could come in. Took my bow in to get new cables and string and buy some new arrows. My old bowtech moved so it was in sorry shape and way overdue. The service wasn't great at first, not the friendliest group I've met, but they were busy as hell. I waited a while, but once the tech talked to me, it was AWESOME! They did a great job on my bow while I waited. Let me shoot it a bunch of times so they could adjust everything right, and sent me home with my bow working better than it has since I bought it 4 years and 3 string sets ago. They took their time with me and got everything perfect. They charged about the same as my last bow guy, but the new arrows and tips were cheaper. It's hard to find a good bow tech and this is my new one! Probably why they were so busy. Also they had a LOT of nice bows and crossbows if I was looking to buy a new one (Crossbows are for old people). read more

I went to big Al's today for the first time I'm a brand new archer (recurve target archer). I was super impressed with the quality and selection of gear and accessories available for great prices! I needed a sight and a nocking point for my new bow (bought online before I knew better). Not only were they beautiful installed (no extra charge!) they helped me dial It in on their indoor range and took the time to teach me proper care Plus lots of great tips. All of this when I walked in only 30 mins before closing time. I was Nervous walking into an archery shop/range as a female with a 10 year old child with me and Almost no knowledge about archery- but I should not have been!! I felt so welcome! I am looking forward to taking classes with their very highly qualified instructor. This is a most excellent shop!! read more

From a year and a half ago when I got sized for arrows and then got a lesson with Steve on my recurve, to recently when I ordered a compound through them. Everything has been amazing. When I was looking for a compound bow, I needed a larger size, which they had in a different color. I said "I guess color doesn't really matter," John said "don't settle on something. We want everything to be perfect for you." They didn't try to sell me on another bow. Danny has been super helpful with everything. They really seem to care. As John told me, "We don't want something to 'just work,' we want everything precisely for you." Amazing place and everyone is super helpful and considerate. read more

I give this archery shop a 5 star and let me tell you why. I've owned my bow (pse drive x) since new In 2018 so I knew it was time for new string and cables. After talking with a few guys they recommended big Al's, after calling i spoke with the owner Dan and he recommended i bring my bow so he could see it, ok,. After a 45 min ride i was welcome by his team with a smile let me add...they took my info and recommended GAS string and cables. I couldn't be more happier with the results. My bow sounds and looks amazing. I was also in the market for a new sight. Dan and his team took the time to help me decide on a black gold hunter!!! Again very pleased, the took there time to help with ranging it in and helping me with the rite tape to use. I will recommend all my friends and anyone who's looking to get into or needs help with archery/cross bows to call big Al's and speak with Dan or anyone on his team. read more

I have been coming to this shop for a couple years now Danny and his staff helped me pick out and tune my first bow! From there I was hooked from lessons to fine tuning these guys do it all and only sell the best stuff with even better intentions. They really do take the time to work with you one on one and make sure that your bow is right for you before you leave . Great place !
