We celebrated my boyfriends 30th birthday by booking a private event and a party table. I called a week prior to ask some questions and was able to talk to the GM who was amazing at breaking down all the information I would need (how to order food, how the party table works, when we should be there ETC). The day off, we had Jen as our Ref and game master who trained us and ran our private game. We had a BLAST with her. The team played music that really amped us up, and I really loved that it wasn't JUST archery tag. She ran us through a bunch of different game styles and it kept it very fresh and fun. At the end we were able to have our pizza, a cake I brought in and some drinks. It was overall a really great time! Jen and the team really made our experience really fun. She was clear with the instructions, rules and really highlighted our achievements! My advice to anyone coming in, call ahead if you have any questions because the team is happy to answer your questions. This is also ONE heck of a workout, so just be dressed and ready to run! Came here with a group of 10 on a Saturday and it was really fun. I would come back for another round now that I got the hang of the bow and arrows. It took a bit to get used to, but once you get it, it's fun. Dodgeball with arrows. Instructor was quick and easy to understand. He changed up each round as different games which helped switch the paces around. My friend did get a pretty bad bruise on her arm after the game due to the bow, but maybe ask for a arm guard prior to playing just in case! Everyone was sweating and sore by the next day (lots of squatting). So prepare some water and maybe a towel. Water was $1 so that's not bad and there's a dollar general next door too for any other snacks you want to pick up! FYI the entrance is in the dollar general. Huge parking lot. read more

First time every attempting archery and I had a blast! It's like playing dodgeball but with bow and arrows instead. Instructors were informative and patient during the lessons and games. We played 4 rounds with varying rules, increasing the difficulty. There is plenty of protection as the arrows have a foam marshmallow at the end and helmets are required when on the field. Forearm barriers were also available for use which I wish I knew earlier as I had a massive purple bruise the next day (see photo). Everyone came out dripping with sweat after which was evident of the masks which could have used a good spray down in between uses. Would love to come again. read more

Upon walking in, I was greeted by Joey, I believe his name was, and nicely welcomed into the facility. Joey showed my guest and I how to correctly use the equipment, share tidbits about the members, and encouraged us. We had an opportunity to get acquainted with the equipment but when the game started...yikes! Things started to happen quickly, and while it was clear that I was a rookie, the experienced league players didn't take advantage of that. This experience definitely requires cardio, strategy, moving quick, and sometimes catching. It'd be interesting to see how it goes with non-league players, but what a way to close out a Thursday. Frankly, my recommendation is try it, and wear a long sleeve shirt + use the arm pads provided-- i bruised my arm by doing what I was told not to...the combat got real! read more

Came here as a group of 14 on a Sunday afternoon and had such a good time (despite being super sore after). It was everyone's first time so we started with a training session with Kyle, who was super helpful during our time there. We ended up playing in the arena with a smaller group of friends, which wasn't a big deal except for the fact that they were all much better than us.. We played a good number of games and definitely got in a workout, so make sure to wear clothes you're comfortable running around in. I would definitely come back! read more

Came here for a company team building event so I had no idea what to expect. I thought this would be laid-back like laser tag but I was sooooo wrong. Be prepared for a workout! I clearly don't exercise at all because my legs were sore for days (but the good kind of sore, ya know). - You will move a lot so make sure your headgear is secured. However, don't tighten it to the point where your head is uncomfortable. If you need to loosen it or ask for a different sized helmet, just do it. Last thing you want is to ruin the fun with a potential migraine from too much/awkward pressure. - Try to avoid wearing glasses, if possible. They will fog up and you're not allowed to take off the headgear when a game is underway (for safety reasons). - Thankfully they have breaks halfway through the game for you to grab something to drink (they sell bottled water, soda, Gatorade). My "pro" tip: If you're just a casual player, ask them if you can play in a game where there aren't league players. The only complaint I had was that they had league players in our game, and while they were evenly distributed amongst the teams, the pace of the game felt more intense than it otherwise would have been. The league players almost never miss and they shoot hard and fast. My hand went numb the first time I got shot directly at my hand... And let's just say three of my male coworkers all had injuries resulting in them assuming immediate fetal positions. read more

The employee was a little intense but was good at managing our group. The group is divided up and you get to play different variations of archery games. Book a private time slot if you can since you will be shooting arrows at each other and I can't imagine being shot by someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Went here for a Bachelor's Party and didn't know what to expect - however it blew my expectations. The place is incredibly clean, and looks extremely professional. One session is about an hour and you get to play a variety of games. Think of all the Call of Duty map games such as zombies or free-for-all - you get a little taste of different types of combat. Our host was incredibly personable and enthusiastic, his personality was ultimately what drove the fun. I would highly recommend this for a day out with friends, it's an experience you probably couldn't find elsewhere in this area of MA. read more

The second time, it was a different staff and people were break rules because if was not explain correctly. Overall, the experience of the game was fun and intense. First, we were walked through the basics of shooting with a bow and then there were a bunch of different styles of games we played. Each game was a take on dodgeball-style elimination game, but with enough tweaks to keep things interesting round after round. We did so much running and shooting, we were dead exhuasted by the end! We booked a private game for young boys with the average age of 14 When we got there we were told that this was not private and our young kids were pitted against very large, very aggressive men with the average age of 23. We were told the price was $30 per child yet when we got there we were charged $35 per child. The beginning instructions were minimal at best. The whole experience was bad. What an unforgettable experience! I've now played "Archery Tag" twice and I'm a fan. A big fan! To the extent in which I'm writing this review thinking about my strategies for next time... can I pull off an arched shot? ...should I commit to shooting arrows from the middle or the start of the game? No matter what my strategy is for next time, one thing I am certain of - I'll be back! Strategy and play aside, the staff is fun, kind and make the experience more pleasurable. This place is. SO. MUCH. FUN. I came here with my friends for a birthday and it was amazing! First, they train everyone on how to shoot the arrows then they split us up into two teams. We were mixed amongst another group. We played a few rounds of different kind of games (tag, dodgeball, elimination, etc...) and there was a couple of breaks in between. I'd recommend wearing shorts and tshirts cause it gets hot running around. Super hot under the masks. I would 100% come back here. read more

I took my son and a group of friends for his 11th birthday party. We did not book a private party but ended up being the only ones there on a Sunday morning . The boys had a wonderful time. The coach was great with the boys. He changed up the game a little each time to keep it fresh. No one got hurt and they had a blast. You are allowed to bring drinks and cake in. But all other food must be ordered from the nearby restaurant The Brown Jug. Pizza was good. My only suggestion would be to allow snacks like grapes and carrots. I did not ask if I could though, so maybe if I had they would have let me. I highly recommend and would definitely be going back soon if it wasn't so far from my home. Such a unique experience! This is a super fun place to go with friends or to even play against strangers. The instructors are very clear and patient, and they give you an opportunity and good amount of time to practice before actually entering the game. I will say that archery tag is super tiring. You will be sore afterwards, but it's definitely rewarding. My team lost, but I somehow (?) ended up being one of two survivors in a free for all haha (which also makes this review a bit biased :p). You don't need to be fit or athletic or play, just got to be attentive and good at hiding. It also only hurts a little bit when you get hit by a cushioned arrow, not enough to cause any bruising or anything. I only wish we had some practice on how to CATCH arrows lol. There's a way to get a teammate back in if you catch an arrow. Curious to see if practicing beforehand would've made that at all a bit more feasible. read more

Such a fun experience! Note: The entrance is in the same building as the dollar store - on the side of the paintball entrance Upon entering, there's a fenced space that the archery madness takes place in. You may even see people already participating in a game. Everyone signs the waiver, the guide/teacher will explain the rules and allow everyone to practice in a designated space. No worries if you didn't pick it up during practice because its fight or flight in the cage! Group is split up into two teams and there's a total of 5-6 matches that lasts about (or what feels like) 10 minutes. Each game has the classic rule: dodgeball style match - if you or your arrow/bow is hit by another arrow, you are out. Each match will have a change/add of rules. The teacher will either add props like a ball that you can use during that match. Very nice switch up each time. Oh by the way, you.will.sweat.your.hmm.out - it gets intense and hot under the equipment/running/rolling around. Def. channeled my inner Katniss but such a great experience, would come back to play again! read more

Fun game but very rude staff. The staff treats different races differently. They whispered to the previous group who are mainly white people, but yelled at us all the time (we are asians). They let us in 7mins late but still count the time in the total 75mins. I sincerely wish they train their staff to learn how to respect customers. read more

I am OBSESSED with this place. I had no idea what to expect going to Archery Tag. But they ensure that you have all the training you need to get on the turf and have fun games. I think what really made this experience is that we joined a great group of 17 others (it was just two in our group) so it was pretty much a full game! they have different games that they walk you though so that you can mix it up and play with different set ups. My only recommendation is that I wish the games were longer. Maybe if there isn't another session afterwards, give people the option to play certain games longer. read more

it was super fun! we did the hour play and that in itself was a workout. def use the arm guards if you're a beginner because your arm might get wrecked (i have like two major bruises on the left arm, the one holding the bow). it kinda hurts when you get hit by the arrow, not as bad as a paintball though. i like how they introduced different elements to the different rounds to make it more fun i.e medics and dodgeballs. it was a really fun activity to do with a large group read more

I've heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint. It's located in a strip mall and you have to pass by a Dollar General to get inside. Facilities are clean and the staff were very welcoming. They provide you with the bow, mask, and the wrist band is optional (USE ONE OR YOU'LL GET BRUISED). We were a party of 24 for a birthday party it was such a fun time. Usually for gatherings with different 'friend groups', outings can be hard and you end up only talking to the person (people) you know. Not at the Archery Games! You are shown how to use the bow and then break into two teams that the referee creates. He/She will then decide on different games to play and for 60 minutes, it's an intense work out. Highly recommend this place for birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc. I would also suggest a group of 16-20 to make it an interesting time. I think for groups of under 20, it's $27 pp but we all paid ~$20. Looking forward to the next archery games already! read more

Went here for the first time last weekend, invited by a friend. It was a TON of fun. I've been interested in getting into paintball, but getting the equipment, buying ammunition, getting clothes I don't mind getting covered in paint, etc seems like a pain. This scratches that itch without all those downsides. Plus, the arrows don't hurt at all when you're hit. Just came back from celebrating our 13 year old's birthday at Archery Games in Chelsea. What a great experience! First of all - all the staff is incredibly friendly, patient and fun. Making reservations on-line, calling with questions, and interactions on the day-of were all easy and happy. Our son and his friends had a blast and I can imagine coming back here again. This works for families, groups of friends of all ages, and I can even imagine team-building events happening here.
