Here is what happened: They programmed a new key, handed it to me, and I discovered right there in the parking lot that the remote did not work. When I pointed this out, they explained it away as a "bad key," which means they charged me for a key they knew was defective. They promised to reorder it and call me. They did not call. Two months passed before I finally scheduled another appointment. I drove in and was told they could not program anything because their internet was down and I would need to reschedule. They said they would call me. They did not. Then, on the day of the rescheduled appointment, they called to say the replacement key still had not arrived due to a FedEx delay. At no point in this entire ordeal did anyone from the office follow up as promised. Every single time, I had to call them. When I raised my frustration, staff were dismissive and deflected responsibility. One person casually mentioned that "70% of new keys can fail," as if that were an acceptable explanation for the situation. I finally gave up and canceled everything. They said a refund check was on its way. Two months later, no check, no call. The incompetence here runs from top to bottom, including management. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Yesterday morning I spent time with my granddaughters in Woodstock NY, attended my Parkinson's…read moreboxing class in Kingston and headed back to my home in the Adirondacks in my electric car. I knew I would need to charge up somewhere. I hooked up to a station near my class and the charger didn't work but I knew I could make it to the Capitol Region rest area on the Thruway so I wasn't concerned. Unfortunately, none of the rest area's chargers were working, either, so I searched for the nearest chargers. I had about 25 miles left on my car but on my charger app I found chargers that work for my car 13 miles away at Crossroads Ford. I called them and spoke to someone who assured me they had the chargers, that I didn't have to have a Ford to use them and that they were in the parking lot so even if the business closed I could use them. He even said they had a fast charger but from my app I could see that the connector for that charger didn't work for my Leaf. I pulled into Crossroads with 12 miles left and spend the next hour trying to make any of the four chargers work: making phone calls to the charger company, downloading the app, etc. When we determined that the four chargers were down for good, I went into the dealership. I had noticed that they had a charger plugged into a car in the service area. I asked the manager if I could use that charger for 20 minutes to get enough of a charge to make it back to the Thruway and get to the Stewarts in Latham where I knew they had a fast charger - and then I could get home. The manager said no. I begged him to just let me use it for 20 minutes and he refused. I went out to my car and all I could think to do was call a tow truck and have my car towed the 20 miles to Latham to the Stewarts, which is what I did. My trip home, which usually takes 3.5 hours including a charge, took me 7 hours and the expense of a tow. The manager at Crossroads could have helped me and for no apparent reason, cruelly refused to let me charge for 20 minutes - and this is after the Crossroads representative I talked to on the phone gave me misleading information about working chargers. No explanation, no apology, no concern for my situation - really cruel, actually. I have no idea about Crossroad's sales or service but the management is seriously lacking in human kindness. I think the character of a company's employees reflects the company as a whole and Crossroads is seriously lacking.
