East Coast Tree Experts used my driveway property without my permission, to perform a neighboring job. At no point did they ask to use my driveway. They never reached out ahead of time. They parked their trucks right next to my cars, blocking them in. My vehicles got dusty and dirty from the work performed. There were also debris left in the driveway. Very unprofessional. read more

Top grade. Quick quote, fair price, flexible scheduling, showed up on time with a big crew. Dropped a "leaner" that was close to the house, took down small and large limbs all around (several using a crane, the rest by guys who climbed), and disposed of a large tree that had fallen a few weeks earlier. I've always done any work needed but hadn't done much maintenance in many years and three limbs had fallen recently. Time to bring in the pros. Mike and team were great...we had a tree fall Precariously on a weekend and he was at our house within 10 minutes of calling to evaluate the situation. He determined it would keep till Monday saving us a bunch of money on emergency services. Mike and his crew completed taking down a giant oak yesterday (at least 100 years old) from our back yard. It was like watching performance artists at work as they used their knowledge to make sure that the job was done to eliminate the possibility of risk to nearby structures and other vegetation. Waited 3 weeks for an estimate. Never came. Maybe they do great work. But despite asking multiple times it never happened.

We had a tree fall on our house in a wind storm yesterday and needed it removed before sundown, in advance of the nor'easter storm was coming that evening. Mike arrived with his crew, got set up immediately and finished the job much quicker than I thought. We were able to get the roof hole covered with a tarp and beat the rain just in time. With his crane and other equipment, they removed the huge tree, got rid of the tree and debris, and left our place as if nothing had happened. One of the worst experiences of my life. I have lived in Boonton for over 20 years and have had many trees removed from my property by Acorn Tree Service without a hitch(nice guys too!). My mistake this time was trying to support a local business. They seemed nice enough when they came out to provide an estimate but things changed when they came to actually remove the tree. When they came out for the estimate we discussed their plan for removal because we were concerned about a new driveway and garage we had built the year before. They were confident the tree could be removed without disturbing the new pavers and landscaping. When they showed up the day of removal they pulled the trucks along side the driveway and destroyed much of the landscaping and curbing. I was not home at the time...my wife confronted them about it and they became irate and verbally abusive. She felt uncomfortable and ultimately left the property while they worked. I came home to a disaster later that night, They refused to admit the damage they had caused and I came to find out that they did not even file for a permit to remove the tree like they said they would. To this day I have not received a response from the owner and this happened three months ago. Avoid these guys at all costs. read more
