Superior noted on the invoice that the car was dead on arrival. Said they tested the battery and that they were able to start the vehicle with starting fluid after multiple attempts. Well, to me that means there were something wrong with the car battery. They got the car running and charged me $155. They kept the car all day, over seven hours to do the safety maintenance inspection that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask me either. Two days later, the car would not start again. I called superior to let them know and they said that the battery was OK when it was there. The battery was dead in their own words when they checked it. I don't understand why they didn't replace the battery. I was unable to go to work on my new job on Wednesday, I would think that an auto service center would recognize when a battery needs replaced.. I am homeless and sleeping in my car. I have no money to get it towed. Fortunately, somebody helped me in the Walmart parking lot to get the car running so I can drive it to a Walmart service center. If that kind person did not help me, I would've been stuck there. I would not have been able to go to work. I wouldn't had a place to sleep. Anyway, I think they should've changed the battery on Monday when the car was in their shop. I think they should've recognized that since it was dead on Sunday and Monday and it was a really old battery, they should have replaced it. Since they didn't, it was a big hassle for me not going back to Superior auto service again. It said on the invoice that they recommended that I monitor it. That is ridiculous. I'm supposed to just drive the car around and hope that it starts when I get back in. I would have to have an expense of it being towed. Shouldn't they fix the car so you don't get stranded somewhere ? Walmart charged me $150 for the battery and instillation. Superior charged me $155 and didn't fix the car. They just gave me a list of $2000 worth of stuff that needed to be Repaired.

They charged her $82 for the Serpentine belt. (Typical Serpentine Belt prices are $20 or less, even for a premium belt). This belt is available at $10 on RockAuto.com and $15 at Autozone and Walmart. Even the most premium belt I could find from a large parts store was less than half the price they chard us. I called them and asked where they got the belt from- Advance. Advance sells the belt to consumers for $32- no auto repair shop in their right minds would pay the same prices charged to walk-ins, so I know they definitely paid less than $32 for it. But EVEN at $32, $82 for a serpentine belt is 156% markup on a part that Advance delivered to them at no additional cost Never going to The Lube Center, Auto Spa, or Frederick Auto Repair again. I can absolutely confirm that they are frauds.

Fitzway said they would fix it with no charge. When they supposedly fixed it, they did not replace the broken hydraulic arm that opens and closes the glove compartment. They left it with one arm, which worked for a while. They never told me to come back when the part came in for the arm. They just said they fixed it. Now my glove compartment is sitting on my car floor. This is how I found out that they never replaced the hydraulic arm.

Unlike other times I have used AAA for towing requests, the business who would be assigned to come to tow me would call, their tower would identify who he was, where he was coming from, and how long it would be before he arrived. The 40 West guy never called to let me know he was on his way, where he was coming from, or how soon it would be before he would arrive. All he brought was attitude. I had borrowed a car from a family member and was at the location within 10 minutes (if not less) after calling AAA ... AAA told me the tow truck would be at the location within 30 minutes -- maybe that is their standard estimated time they use when a tow is requested or maybe the girl I spoke to did not know the correct protocol? I don't know. When I arrived at the facility that had my car, the tow truck was already there. I went inside to pay my bill and get my car key. I was warned by the employee at the location that the 40 West driver appeared to be upset because I was not there when he arrived. I walked out to his truck and apologized for him having to wait and his reply was a smug "whatever" with a shrug of his shoulders. His attitude only went downhill after that. He wanted to know what was wrong with my car and if payment was going to be by cash. I explained my car problem (not that he needed to know) and why I needed it re-towed and I would pay with a credit card. He shrugged again and he added "I was told you were paying with cash." I felt the need to ask if paying with a credit card was going to be an issue. He replied, "No" and what cards he would accept, but his attitude spoke louder than words. He proceeded to move his truck (roll back) and positioned it behind my car. As he backed my car onto the roll back and worked to secure it, another person from the facility where I had my car, came out to quickly speak to me. While I was busy talking with him, the 40 West driver got into the truck and simply left without me. I had no idea where he had gone or which route he took. I quickly got into my borrowed car and drove quickly to the garage where my car was to go, hoping he would be there. Upon arrival, he was there along with his attitude. Other unfortunate issues took place once at the garage (additional charges for mileage that had to be explained and settled), but his attitude and rudeness did not wane toward me or toward the receptionist at the garage. To say he was very unprofessional is an understatement. I have never used 40 West in the past (they were not my choice, but assigned through AAA), and after this experience, it is highly unlikely that I would recommend them. I was already upset about my car having an issue where it had to be re-towed, but to have this guy show up with a MAJOR attitude that continued through the entire time I had to deal with him, did not set well with me, hence the need to post this review.

I own a 1975 Corvette and took it to this shop because neither of my doors would open with the key. They assured me the issue was fixed and addressed additional problems causing my battery to drain. After spending several thousand dollars, I was told everything was resolved and given a warranty on the door repairs. Unfortunately, the problem persisted. When I returned, I was shocked to hear there was no warranty. I later had a trusted friend run a diagnostic and found out the root issue was a bad starter and flex plate--issues they failed to diagnose despite charging me $300 for their inspection. In total, I paid $4,500. My doors still don't work properly, and my car had to be towed again. To make matters worse, when I picked up my car, the driver's side door was damaged, and my new custom oxblood carpet and floor mats were ruined by water damage. This happened despite providing them with a custom car cover. I also felt pressured to pay after receiving two different price quotes for the same work, which seemed very shady. I had to get a tow which the last picture is. This experience has been frustrating and disheartening. If you have a car that needs repairs, I strongly recommend taking it to someone you know and trust. Quality service matters, and this has shown me how things can go wrong when money takes precedence over professionalism. PS. It would need a new hood, front end, and driver's side quarter panel and headlight fixture. I reached out to local friends on FB and several recommended Flick's Collision in Lisbon. I live only two miles from the shop so it was a convenient option. I called Flick's on Monday and spoke with the owner, Gene, and he told me to bring the car in. He gave me an estimated time line of about a month or so, which he said was due to the shop's current volume (deer rutting season) and what it takes to deal with insurance companies. After that, by and large, the shop handled all communications with the insurance company, including the supplemental parts lists, etc. I hadn't had a car in a body shop in 30+ years and it was eye opening to see that the Allstate claim payment actually included a list of used and aftermarket parts for the shop to buy (I naively thought that it was the collision shops that identified and sourced the necessary parts). The repair ended up taking 5 weeks to complete. Given the Christmas holiday and some difficulty obtaining parts from Allstate's sources, that didn't upset me. When my son and I went to pick up the car, while the paint work was very good, I wasn't quite happy with the fit of the replacement hood. Gene came out to the car with us and explained that aftermarket parts don't always fit like OEM parts. I could tell what he was saying was true because the contour of the aftermarket hood did not perfectly match the contour of the quarter panels so there was no way it could be made perfect. After discussing for a while though, Gene said that he would try replacing the driver's side hood hinge and see if that would help. He said he would call me when the hinge came in. A few days later he did call and we brought the car back in. The next day the car was done and we went to get it. It looked much better. Gene explained that he made adjustments to multiple parts. I give this shop 5 stars because Gene could have simply said that the original repair was as good as they could do, but he didn't. He stepped up to make sure I was satisfied. And I believe that at least the extra labor needed was at his own expense, which I greatly appreciate. Integrity and good customer service seem to be in short supply these days, but not at Flick's. Was my experience with Flick's perfect, no, but Gene genuinely wanted to make sure I was satisfied and did his best to make it happen, and that absolutely matters. Thanks, Gene!
