Dropped my car off two Sunday nights ago, was told my car would be looked at that week. It's now 12 days after the fact and they just now have started working on the car even after I was quoted only 12-15 hours of labor. Every time I called no one seemed to be able to exactly tell me when it would be done or what was going on with it, and today I called once in the afternoon and was told to call back a while after and even now they are still unsure if it will even be done Monday. Have had great experiences here in the past but this has been too ridiculous too even think about ever bringing my vehicle back. read more

I bought my first car about a year ago- and it's already had more issues than I can count. I would definitely feel defeated about this if it wan't for the amazing service I receive from Clearview (both locations!) every single time I take my car in. My mom has been taking all of our cars to the North location for the last few years because it's always service we can trust from very, very amazing people. I had to have my engine refurbished recently, and it was my first encounter with the South location- just as amazing! I went in for an oil-change/check-up today and genuinely enjoyed the process of dropping my car off because of friendly conversation with one of the owners, Lisa. One of my headlights was out. It was Thursday just before 5 pm. I called the dealership where I bought the car, and they said they couldn't work me in until Tuesday or Wednesday. I called Clearview Car Care South and they said bring it in Friday morning. I went in Friday morning and brought a book to read since I figured it would take a while. I read two pages and they let me know the repair was finished. They even showed me the blown-out bulb. I love these folks! read more

Honest, competitive great service and timely. Like attorneys, you don't associate vehicle mechanics as honest. I trust this place to send my wife to get work done here without me. Many places will try to upsell you or say everything is a critical repair. They do not do that here. This is a father son repair shops. The son runs N Market St and the father runs S Wismer St. Having a much older vehicle there's always things that could be done. The father looked our vehicle over, prioritized the issues and made recommendations for lowering costs. He even walked me through some things I could do myself. As stated earlier the greatest compliment I can give; I trust sending my wife who is NOT mechanically inclined to bring our vehicle here without me. read more

This is by far my best auto mechanic repair shop experience to date I traveled from Illinois with a little noise in the front end after purchasing a vehicle asked Clearview to take a peek at it see what the problem might be they probably took 15 minutes to diagnose the problem, it was a missing bolt, they replaced it had me back on the road in 25 minutes no charge they wouldn't even except money. I can't thank them enough what a great experience, I would recommend this mechanic to anyone looking for an honest mechanic/auto service shop. read more

It's mid-July and the air conditioning stops blowing cold air. Great. My husband and I are new to the area so we went to Yelp to find a mechanic with good reviews and BINGO. I took my car there for them to figure out the problem... fully prepared to leave with a quote of a few hundred dollars and needing to come back on a weekend day (meaning still no cold air until then) but I was wrong thankfully! Luckily the fix we needed was super simple and they called their other location in Frederick to get someone to drive the part over so that they could fix it same day so that I didn't have to drive around in the heat any longer. I have LOVED my experience at Clearview Car Care. Both times, they have checked my car before a big road trip and given me a oil change. Once, they had to do more in-depth routine maintenance. I have found them to be supremely competent, honest and reliable. Also, one of the best things I like is that they are open at 7:30 AM which means I can get my oil changed before I go to work. Great experience! I found them on yelp. I was in a rush to find a place to change my cars oil, and normally I dread getting it done. Mostly due to other companies being untrustworthy and pushy with up selling. The man who answered the phone (Zach, I think) was kind enough to take me the same day. He quoted me over the phone and that was the exact amount I paid upon leaving. When I showed up, all the workers were kind. It also didnt hurt that their waiting room decor is unique and clean. My daughters (two under two) had no problem waiting for the car to be serviced, neither did I. Wait time was quick and service was done with the exact time he told me over the phone. FINALLY, I have found the perfect place to bring our cars for services. Thank you so much for helping us and making this experience painless. read more

We were traveling in our small camper van on Ford chassis when the check-engine light came on. I called a Ford dealer and 3 other auto repair places in Frederick MD who all said they couldn't see us today. I saw this place had good Yelp reviews and just showed up. One guy did a computer diagnostic and confirmed my suspicion of the problem . He was busy, but called his father's shop across town. They made the repair and had us back on the road in 2 hours. We waited with our dogs in their comfortable waiting area. A very friendly family business. We are so grateful we stopped here. read more

I was referred by a co-worker and I've gone to both the South and North shop locations. Both locations are efficient with excellent customer service. The staff is very friendly and they remember you. Poor attitude toward customers, inflexible and incompetent. Main mechanic refuses to ever talk to or explain anything directly to a customer, insisting his wife is the only person customers are allowed to talk to. After making the bad decision to choose this place for a state inspection, we had the repairs done at a cheaper place nearby and then had this place reinspect it. After waiting a month (due to pandemic) for an appointment with the MVA, the MVA discovered that Clearview's inspector had made an error and entered one wrong character in the VIN on the inspection. Even though the official at the MVA said we could simply call the mechanic and have them submit it electronically right away, Clearview insisted we had to bring the vehicle in physically, so they could correct their mistake. No apology was offered. Instead we simply received an explanation that it was a simple mistake. Fortunately the people at the MVA were kind enough not to make us schedule a new appointment and wait yet another month to come back in with the corrected inspection. If this kind of unapologetic poor workmanship were applied not just to the VIN number, but to a vital safety component on a vehicle ... well... just would absolutely not ever do business with this place.
