She gave me great recommendations - I hope our new night Doula's can measure up to the amazing love, support, and service we got from Stephanie! She is also the only reason I was able to breastfeed for 8 months - she would take my calls and give tips (or call me down) and provide such potent reassurance. I could go on for days. Last thing - when I first found her info I was hesitant because we are not a churchy family - in hindsight I can't believe this gave me pause. She performed her work in such an incredible way - I know she has a lot of experience in spiritual child rearing, but was so unconditionally loving without pushing any message on any of us at any time (other that rah rah and you got this-type messages). I didn't know what having a doula would be like, but Stephanie helped me far more than I expected…read more She answered my questions and listened to my fears during the pregnancy, and stayed in close contact with me leading up to the birth. She helped me think through my birth plan, and I felt comfortable asking her even silly questions. During the birth, she was invaluable. I had originally thought that having my husband and mom there would be enough people--but it turns out that with pitocin-induced contractions, I absolutely needed three people helping me stay focused! She also visited after the birth to answer more of my questions and offer some general breastfeeding support, too. I had wanted an intervention-free birth, but it didn't work out that way. Despite being induced, with her help and support I was able to give birth without pain medication or an epidural. She kept me focused AND kept my mom and husband focused on helping me effectively. Having Stephanie there gave me the best of both worlds--I was under a doctor's care in the hospital, but I feel like I got a natural birth experience despite being induced.

I've always delivered naturally without any medications or medical interventions. If you plan to go this route I highly recommend investing in a doula. My labor and delivery went amazing with no complications. Kenzie worked with me through my contractions, massaging and giving words of encouragement. Anita helped move me in positions to help me progress faster. She uses this peanut ball, which I have a love/hate relationship with. We labored together at my house for about three hours. Then we went to the hospital. I arrived there at 8cm, Anita again put me on my side on the peanut ball. I went from an 8 to a 10 in 20 minutes. I pushed my 7lb daughter out in two pushes. I've delivered five children without medications, three of those I used doulas. They were the absolute best experiences I have ever had and am so blessed that someone like Anita and Kenzie have the skills and knowledge to help guide me during the wonderful birth of my daughter Gretchen!

Then when they flat out ignored my test results and shamed some of my personal decisions, I decided to find a care provider that my husband and I wouldn't have to fight with during labor. And boy did I. It was night and day. Ashley was on my team, she is insanely intelligent and knowledgeable, she actually made me feel relaxed about labor, she had lots of information about everything when I needed it but ultimately supported me making my own decisions. I felt like if something went wrong during labor, I could actually trust her to put my and my baby's health first before anything else. Baby girl delivered 100% naturally, 10 lbs 4.4 oz, 22 inches long, and a giant head (92nd percentile I believe). No stitches. Quick postpartum recovery. And when baby girl's shoulder got stuck, Ashley knew exactly how to move baby and I to get her out with no injury to anyone. I was able to walk out and go home 3.5 hours after delivery... talk about non-traumatic. I know that would have been a different story if I stayed at the hospital. I'll always be so thankful for Ashley and her sweet assistant. Her birthing center is so lovely too. The drive over there puts me in a good mood because of how serene it is. The center itself is so clean and private and comfortable. It felt like heaven compared to the discomfort I felt at the hospital. Bonus that for postpartum visits I don't have to bring my newborn around a ton of people at a hospital. Thank you Ashley!!!

My daughter had a heartbreaking ordeal with this birthing center. It sounded like a great idea to…read morebirth naturally, but it turned into a nightmare for our young couple. Come to find out their ultimate goal is to defraud and this is how they do it. They push for prepayment in full for a (discount) and then they will send the unsuspecting mothers to the hospital for a low fetal heartbeat which was normal for the baby according to the hospital. But they know now that they have raised an alarm, (false as it was) that the expecting mother will just birth in the hospital. I don't fault the birthing center for erring on the side of caution, but what came next put everything in a clear perspective. A call was made to the mother, now in the hospital, asking to join her. For the additional amount of 1500$ they would come and hold her hand, as they are not licensed and have no malpractice insurance, therefore the hospital staff cannot legally let them practice onsite. Our Daughter declined the additional services and went ahead with the birth at the hospital she was sent to by the midwife. A few days later our daughter and the baby went to an aftercare appointment facilitated by the birthing center where she brought up the fact that on the birthing centers advice, she now had a full hospital bill for the birth. She inquired about a partial refund due to services not rendered, Birthing the baby, a very reasonable request. The cold response was that the birthing center would look into it. Two weeks passed and then the birthing center informed them no refund would be issued at all. SO BEWARE: No matter the response that I know they will write.. the bottom line is this. They ask for prepayment knowing that if they choose they can just send the client in for some made up reason and now they no longer have to fulfill their part of the contract, all while keeping the entire payment amount. Completely ignoring the fact that services that were prepaid, were not rendered!

We had a bad experience at a hospital and wanted to try a birth center.... Well I can tell you that you can skip this place! We paid everything, and did everything they asked of us to and in the end they did not do the right thing! They stole! And by they I mean Toni Kimpel! She was concerned about a deceleration in my baby girls heart rate and so she send me to the ER. ( which is fine , Tony thinks that's what I have an issue with and I don't) We then were induced. ( which was fine .) BUT!!! What wasn't fine was trying to come into my delivery room and try to ( coach me , since they couldn't actually legally help me in the hospital and make me pay an extra chunk of money! OVER $1,000) I declined and had my baby girl without their help. Afterwards at the postnatal check at home Toni brought her equipment (which there were a few items that wouldn't work and Toni shrugged! Didnt even get my temperature! Who cares? Toni doesn't! ) we asked to have at least a little bit of a refund since we paid the whole amount to get a discount for the birth at jubilee. And she proceeded to sit back on OUR couch and cross her arms awhile she told us it's up to her to decide if we get our money back.. so we waited for our next appointment 2 weeks later and we asked for the money again, she says she thought about it long and hard (she didn't ) and she said that she declined to give us a refund and kicked us out without even setting up my 6 week check up (which has still not happened so another service not rendered) .... A refund that would help a young couple out with these new unexpected bills from the hospital! We were planning on birth center and paid a lot of money for it and she STOLE MONEY FROM US! We went to a contract lawyer and he said " THIS IS SERVICES NOT RENDERED !" SO if you're keeping track that's 2 SERVICES NOT RENDERED!!! We are a tired young couple who don't have the time/money to go after her to get some justice but we can warn others to STAY AWAY!! THEY DONT HAVE MALPRACTICE INSURANCE!!! STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT YOU AND YOUR BABY SAFE! I'm telling everyone to be CAREFUL and AWARE! Toni Kimpel is sneaky and shouldn't be in this business!
