My wife and I were keen on finding a venue that had a vibrant nature and outdoorsy vibe. We were immediately charmed when we first saw East Lynn Farms, and met the team behind its operation. The owners Georgia and Peter were incredibly supportive, and gave sage advice throughout our planning process. In addition, Alyson, who handles the emails for the farm, was always incredibly quick to provide responses to our questions, and was a pleasure to communicate with. We visited the venue a couple times throughout 2019 between January and our wedding this past September. It takes some imagination to picture how the grounds would look like on your wedding day, because it transforms so much with each season. However, we thought it was gorgeous and made for a terrific backdrop each time we visited regardless of the season. The farm is between an hour to an hour and a half outside of D.C. so it is a fantastic option for getting a rustic venue space that is still accessible for our friends living in the city and the families flying in to Reagan or Dulles. There is a lot of flexibility for events at East Lynn Farms, which may be a stressor for couples depending on their appetite for DIY versus a turnkey wedding option. The farm includes some decorations and a list of recommended vendors, but we were not restricted to the list as long as the vendors we chose had the appropriate license and insurance. The farm allows you to provide our own beverages for events, and we were able to save quite a bit by sourcing our drinks from Costco rather than ordering through the caterer. My wife and I were initially worried about how hot might be at the tail end of Summer, and we contemplated renting fans or A/C units for the wedding. Thankfully, Georgia advised us that the surrounding mountains provided the area with a cooler ambient temperature and a reasonable breeze that negated the need for that hefty expense. On our wedding day, the weather was perfect! Even at the peak of the afternoon it never got so hot that it was uncomfortable to wear a suit jacket, and at the end of the night it wasn't so cold that one needed a jacket. East Lynn Farm is a beautiful venue that was a big part in helping our vision of our dream wedding come alive. We opted for the "Full Countryside Weekend Package" that allowed us to use the venue from Friday at noon to Sunday at noon. This full weekend enabled us to have an amazing rehearsal dinner the night prior to our big day, in addition to not having to frantically setup/breakdown in a few short hours. During our wedding weekend, the venue staff was great to make sure that everything was setup as desired and worked to ensure that weekend went off without a hitch. The barn for the reception is the perfect size for a wedding of roughly 140+/- a few guests. Your photographer will have plenty of great spots for pictures throughout the farm. While barn weddings seem to be the new craze, this venue separates itself as having been a true working barn and not simply a barn built specifically for weddings. The rustic character shines, but potentially requires you to do a bit more work than some venue to transform it to meet your vision. A few tips that we hope will be helpful for others looking to book this venue for their wedding weekend. The venue has very specific rules and requires extremely detailed plans/details be completed prior to your event. Plan to use a very experienced caterer that is fully self-sufficient. I would highly recommend requesting the "East Lynn Farm Wedding Event Detail Form" prior to booking the venue. This will allow you see all the rules and understand additional cost you might not have potentially thought of. I stayed at the Inn with 6 of my girlfriends over the last weekend and it was an a phenomenal experience! All of the little details, from cheese and grapes when we arrived to the fresh cut daffodils in every room, made us feel totally welcome and at home. The house was very clean and the beds were by far the most comfortable I've come across at a B&B. Breakfast was delightful. Would also recommend the chef, Sohpiann. She was reasonably priced and a master with food. The hummus and rum cakes were to die for. The views around the Inn were beautiful from the mountains to the sheep across the road. Additionally, we were super close to a ton of vineyards - check out North Gate - and even a sweetshine distillery (Bloomery Plantation). A+! Would recommend! read more

2021 bride here! My husband and I had our wedding reception at East Lynn Farm in June of 2021. Everything about the venue was incredible. We had such a positive experience working with Georgia (owner) and her assistant, Allyson. They were so kind, responsive, and accommodating throughout the entire process. They were always ready and willing to answer any and all questions I had while planning which was super comforting. Georgia took the time out of her day to come meet me at the venue multiple times in the months leading up to the wedding (for planning, walk-throughs with our wedding coordinator, and even engagement photos with our photographer!) She was always so sweet and patient, we truly couldn't have asked for a better person to work with. Not to mention, the farm is absolutely GORGEOUS! It is extremely well kept and we loved everything about it. We used the outdoor space and the bottom floor of the barn for cocktail hour and had our reception upstairs. My bridesmaids and I also stayed at the Inn the night before the wedding and got ready there in the morning. Again, everything was extremely clean, well-kept, and overall just really, really beautiful. We absolutely loved our wedding at East Lynn Farm. Anna and the team there we very easy to work with and the property is gorgeous and so well taken care of. We loved the flexibility of booking the wedding weekend - we could have our ceremony anywhere on the property and didn't have to decide until about a week before. Staying at the Inn on Friday made getting ready Saturday morning so easy and was so convenient after the wedding. The hayloft where we held our reception is beautifully lit; we didn't have to bring in much decor to make it look beautiful. We lucked out with amazing weather and have gorgeous photos from all over the farm. We loved being able to work with any vendors we wanted and were delighted with Old Blue BBQ's catering! The food was spectacular and wedding-caliber. The only downsides are the venue is not very handicap accessible (the bathrooms are on the ground floor, but the main reception space is in the upper barn loft up a flight of stairs) and it's about 20-30 minutes from nearby hotels (not a problem with a shuttle back to the hotel at the end of the night). read more

We had our wedding at East Lynn Farm on 10/28/2017 and it was absolutely perfect! The property is picturesque with spectacular views of the area from both the farmhouse where our ceremony was to the barn where our reception was held. We booked the venue for the entire weekend, which made it much easier for setting up the day before and also allowed us to hold our rehearsal dinner in the barn on Friday night as well. My wife and her five bridesmaids stayed at the farmhouse (3 bedrooms) on Friday evening so they could get ready hassle-free on Saturday morning. The reception hall in the upstairs of the barn is stunning. East Lynn already has a number of lights set up that complimented the decor we brought. In addition, East Lynn also has other accoutrements you can use, often left over from previous weddings. They have an archway you can decorate with flowers from their garden for your ceremony. East Lynn also provides chairs for the ceremony and tables for the reception so you have one less thing to worry about. Anna and her team were incredible in the months and weeks leading up to big day, ensuring we had everything we needed. The farm will work with any vendors you want, but they have a great selection of vendors who know the venue if you are so inclined. As others have said, the farm is not handicap-friendly as there are only stairs to the upstairs reception area. The bathrooms are in a trailer outside, but they are clean and modern. Our guests stayed at the nearby Lansdowne and other hotels, which are all 25 minutes away so a shuttle will be necessary. There is also free parking by the barn if guests want to drive. If you are looking for a farm venue for your wedding, this is the cream of the crop in the DMV area. read more

We just had our wedding at East Lynn Farm, and it was exactly what we wanted it to be. Anna, the Event Manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very organized, offered helpful solutions, and gave our wedding the proper attention and personal touch. If you get married at East Lynn, you also get blessed by having Anna help you along the way. The farm itself is beautiful. Georgia, the owner, was open to letting us do whatever we wanted. We put up extra lights, repurposed the chapel as a photo booth, and brought lots of our own decorations to make the farm our own. They also have a lot of great amenities we took advantage of. They have lawn games, a fire pit, a parking attendant, and extra help available for your wedding day (they took down all of our ceremony chairs while we were at the reception). We stayed on site at the Inn across the street from the barn (we also had our ceremony outside of the Inn). It was really nice to be able to leave our reception and walk across the street to our house for the night. They provide breakfast if you want it, which was also really nice. Yogurt, granola, fruit, muffins, and coffee. There is a bigger house about 15 minutes away that my family rented for the weekend. Also a nice amenity if you're family is coming in from out of town. We had our reception in the hay loft of the barn. It has exposed rafters, and they have it decorated with twinkle lights. It's the reason we booked the farm to begin with. Really beautiful. We used the downstairs part of the barn for our cocktail hour. It was perfect because people could go get a drink in the barn and then go right outside to play some lawn games. The only negative to the farm is that it's not very handicapped accessible. The restrooms are on the ground level but up 2-3 stairs. We paid extra for a handicapped bathroom, but it was just a port-a-potty. Anna decorated it so it didn't stand out too much, but it wasn't ideal. read more

James and I were married on 10-08-2016 at East Lynn. We stayed at the farm all weekend and made it a long weekend by renting it on Thursday night as well. It was the best decision we made to have the wedding at East Lynn and to have Anna as our wedding planner. She was an absolute dream to work with. She took the reigns and mastered our wedding for us. I would have paid five times what she charged us! The Farm is absolutely gorgeous! Georgia and Peter were a massive help also. Everyone raved about the venue and the wedding. We were able to get up for the sunrise in the mornings which were breathtaking. It was truly a spectacular venue and so refreshing to be able to spend a few days there---it really helped take away all my nerves. I am an extremely type A person and was worried about the Farm wedding and all of the what if's--- but we even had hurricane Matthew make an appearance and everything still went off without a hitch.... well I'm sure there were some-- but Anna took care of all of it! We are so glad that we chose East Lynn Farm for our fall wedding! Not only is the setting absolutely gorgeous, with panoramic views of the blue ridge mountains, but the indoor spaces are beautiful and so well-maintained as well. The hayloft of the barn was the perfect size for our wedding with 75 guests plus a 7 piece band and tables set up for a dessert bar. Georgia and Allyson were both wonderful to work with. They were quick to respond to questions and were very flexible throughout the planning process. One thing we really appreciated about the venue was that the rental costs include tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception. They also have relatively inexpensive rental decor options so that you don't have buy everything yourself or go through separate event rental companies. I just returned home from a three night stay at The Inn at East Lynn. Let me begin by saying that this is a fantastic vacation rental that is beautiful, well appointed, authentic and surprisingly reasonable in price. My family and I rented the house so that we could enjoy a relaxing weekend of wine tasting in northern VA. I stumbled upon this inn through Loudon county's Bed and Breakfast Guild. The house is beautiful. The owner, Georgia, who could not have been more helpful or accommodating, lovingly restored this property which is a farmhouse from the 1800's. All of the decor was on point down to the lilac, sage and lavender throughout the house which smelled heavenly. It is as quaint as it is pretty and provides a setting which is magazine ready. The property is magnificent and would lend itself well to any type of large gathering or event. We used the Inn's in house chef, Sophiann Nunaley, to prepare dinner the first night of our stay. Sophiann prepared us a delicious feast which included home made cheeses & breads on top of the already awesome meal. Her homemade ricotta and her signature Rum Cake (which I would normally never order because I detest desserts with alcohol) was one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life. If you hire her, TRY THE RUM CAKE, you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed it so much I had her prepare three cakes to take home with me. The Inn's manager, Pati, brought us breakfast every day. This was no crusty continental breakfast, it was homemade quiches, fruit platters and pastries from a local gourmet bakery. Pati was also extremely helpful and able to answer any questions that we had during our stay. If you are planning a trip, a wedding or any kind of event in Loudon county I would strongly urge you to consider the Inn at East Lynn for a true to taste of sophisticated country life. read more

We were brought by shuttle to the farm and sat under trees to watch the bride come from the farmhouse down to the wedding party - just gorgeous! Then, we crossed to the previous miking barn which is remodeled into a twinkle-light cocktail area. Finally, upstairs to celebrate the couple with a roomy dance floor and excellent staff. We chose East Lynn for our wedding July 2016. I encourage people to visit their website, I cannot do justice to how spectacularly beautiful the space is. Throughout the weekend our guests kept telling us how awestruck they were by the venue. Since pictures are better to describe the aesthetic, I'll provide here more of the practical reasons why East Lynn is an ideal wedding venue. The venue was exactly what we were looking for a pastoral, laid back family and friend-oriented wedding. We really liked the fact that you could rent the entire place for the weekend and hold multiple events there. We held our ceremony in the pine grove, our cocktail hour in the lower half of the barn and the reception, dinner and dancing in the upper half. The following day we had a bbq on the lawn behind the barn. The venue and its variety of space really allows you to arrange your wedding to suite your needs and relieves you of a lot of potential stress. For example I remember being super nervous that we'd plan an outdoor wedding and then be rained out. But at East Lynn because they have a double lofted barn we could have used the bottom floor for the ceremony and the top floor for the reception. We lucked out with weather, but not having to deal with that anxiety is a relief. Also for the number of wedding guests, they have enough space that you could have approximately 200 guests, we ended up with 130 although we were aiming for a little smaller, the fact that the venue didn't have a cap at 150 or 120 allowed us to not stress when the guest-list fluctuated (which I think is quite common). East Lynn also made it very easy for us because they have everything we needed there, chairs for the ceremony, a separate set of chairs for the receptions and tables for the reception. These are substantial costs that add up if you are required to rent. You can also rent other materials from East Lynn such an bushels of hay which we used to create a photobooth, or arch ways and old barn doors that you can use as decorations. We rented lawn games which were super fun to have for the day-after bbq. They also have other furniture in the lower barn that you can use such as tables, chairs, benches, a bar etc, the price of which was included in our rental. Having these there was all super helpful. We really enjoyed the fact that we could stay in the Inn and we had two other couples stay with us which allowed for a very relaxed experience. Literally, the morning of our wedding I woke up and went for a relaxed walk through the flower orchard, it was just such a beautiful space. We rented another house that was a ten min drive from the owners of East Lynn for 10 of our friends and our family stayed in Serene manor (just around the corner). Other guests stayed in hotels in the Sterling/Dulles area. Most of all the venue allows to make your wedding your own. If you really want to DIY you can, but the venue is so spectacular, you don't have to. We used flowers from the venue and did some minor decorating in the lower barn. But aside from table arrangements and flowers, you really don't have to decorate that much. Another element we liked was that it is a real working farm. There were goats, sheep and cows in the pasture, and a few plucky chickens. My husband and I liked the fact that our wedding was helping fund a sustainable organic farm. What I really enjoyed about the venue is that they allow you to choose your vendors. Many venues require that you use their vendors, making the wedding feel less about you and more about what the wedding industry expects of you. But East Lynn does not create these types of restriction. They do hold a helpful open house where you can meet many vendors who have done weddings there before. We ended up going with a caterer we met at that open house. The only other restrictions or requirements the venue had were safety related, for example no flames or candles are allowed in the barn, but we borrowed some electric tea lights which worked perfectly. By far one of the best elements of East Lynn was their day-of wedding planner. Anna was spectacular. I can't say this enough. We had a meeting a few months in advance and a couple of phone calls leading up to the event. She was systematic and had lists of questions that demonstrated that she was thinking of all of the details that mattered. She's a superb logistician and was very skilled at troubleshooting issues that cropped up during the day. We planned mostly everything ourselves, most of the decorating, coordination with the caterer and the photographer, the DJ, the pastry shop, the guitarist for the ceremony etc the 6-9 months leading up to the wedding, but when it came to the day of, Anna was the reason why we could enjoy the day, she had everything under control. read more

What a magical site! Our god daughter's wedding here was picture perfect in every way. The views and setting for the wedding outside made for such a lovely ceremony in the late afternoon. When my husband and I first found East Lynn Farm, we knew this was the place for us. We were looking for a place we could stay for the weekend and that was rustic. The grounds at East Lynn are gorgeous and the owners are very flexible in where you'd like your ceremony, from the Pine grove to facing the farm land... there are so many possibilities. My husband and I had our ceremony in the Pine grove, facing the massive garden. The owners are open to using farm amenities, such as flowers from the garden for your wedding flowers, vegetables from the garden, etc. I met up with the owner, Georgia, one weekend and spent the afternoon picking dead heads to harvest sunflower seeds as my wedding favors! I HIGHLY recommend opting for the weekend stay. It makes life so much easier getting ready the day of your wedding at your location and staying the night after your wedding. My husband and I did not opt to have Anna as our on-site coordinator due to budgetary reasons; however, we still were in contact with her throughout the process. Be aware of all the costs in your contract - for example, the lawn games are not included. Our wedding day was the first weekend in August, we were lucky it wasn't too hot of a day; however, it was quite toasty in the barn loft. Looking back, we wish we would have gotten air conditioning units to help cool it down. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with our choice in venue. On August 16, 2014, my bride and I were married at East Lynn Farm with an outdoor wedding with the reception immediately afterward. As winter turned to spring, Georgia encouraged us to visit the farm to see the for ourselves the beautiful wildflower and vegetable gardens we'd as yet only witnessed on the website. With each visit, we fell more in love with the historic house and the incredible scenic beauty of the surrounding farmland. My wife and I shared a vision of a simple, yet elegant, rustic country wedding. Throughout the planning process, we consistently felt as if Georgia had our best interest at heart. She went out of her way to ensure that our day would be exactly as we envisioned. On the day of our wedding, we were amazed that the final product was even more beautiful than we had imagined. My wife and I have been to dozens of weddings--some formal-style gala events held in mansions, some natural & scenic events held in a Maine harbor, some Caribbean beach weddings. Not one could have compared to the simple elegance and natural beauty of East Lynn Farm. We have had dozens of our guests tell us that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever witnessed. My husband and I got married at East Lynn Farm on October 22nd and we couldn't have asked for a better setting for our special day. When we visited East Lynn Farm for the first time I just knew that we had found the perfect venue. There were so many beautiful spots to choose from to host the ceremony and reception. On our first visit we met with the amazing Anna who showed us around, explained all the amenities and walked us through what we could expect. We clicked right away and ended up hiring her as our coordinator. I don't think our event would have been as successful were it not for her understanding of our vision and her determination to make our day perfect for us. The Saturday of our wedding was the coldest day in October with gale force winds. We were supposed to have our ceremony outside in the shade of the pine trees but the weather forced us to move indoors. Anna did an amazing job of setting up the lower level dairy barn beautifully for our ceremony and helping transition it for cocktail hour. I think I may have been the calmest bride ever because I had so much faith in Anna's understanding of what my husband and I were looking for and faith in her ability to make it come together. We were lucky to have the opportunity to attend two open houses at East Lynn before our wedding. Those visits really helped us figure out details and logistics as well as giving us the opportunity to connect with different vendors. We also got to meet the owners Georgia and Peter who were very warm and inviting. When we arrived at the Inn Friday for our rehearsal dinner Georgia was there to greet us. Not only did she thoughtfully give us extra clean towels and wonderful skin care products, but she also picked us some delicious figs straight from the garden. Peter was there on Saturday helping support us during the wedding. He even helped me retrieve our sweetheart table linen from the party rental truck the next day when it was accidentally packed away with our rentals. We are so happy that we booked East Lynn Farm for our wedding weekend. Our guests were blown away by the beautiful and peaceful landscape. The serenity of our surroundings was priceless. It was amazing waking up to the views of the wide-open fields and pastures, sheep and goats grazing and the mountains in the background. Some of our guests were lucky enough to get to pet some horses too A large part of me was so sad when we had to leave on Sunday. This was one of the most impeccably beautiful landscapes for a wedding that I've seen in a long time. For the wedding I attended, the weather could not have been more perfect, yet even the sunniest of days would not have done East Lynn Farm justice alone. From the sheep grazing out to pasture in the distance to the tallest gorgeous trees flanking one of the primary ceremony sites in the grove to the quaint farm house (complete with quintessential farm house interior) to the sprawling lawns around the barn. The barn itself is a beauty with an expansive and sunlit reception space in the would be hayloft and extra room beneath in the milking stalls of the barn. The farm has been lovingly restored and polished to be the perfect backdrop for any wedding. The wedding I attended was in the afternoon-- 3:30pm which is the perfect time for a ceremony given the way the light falls on the grove-- followed by a reception into sunset, the ideal time for "golden hour" photos in the fading light, which made the barn and reception area positively glow. Anna was a fantastic support throughout the wedding process and made sure to pay close attention to each detail along the way. Smoking Willie's was the caterer and not only was the food absolutely delicious, but it also was one of the best orchestrated catering set-ups and break-downs I've seen. East Lynn brings in great vendors. Overall, really just a wonderful experience attending a wedding here and watching two friends through the organization process. My daughter had her reception at East Lynn Farm on Nov 12, 2016. The venue was perfect!! The farm is beautiful and full of history. We used the downstairs "milking station" for the cocktail hour and the upstairs hayloft for the reception. Both the downstairs and upstairs are filled with little white lights which made things so inviting! The owners, Georgia and Peter, were great to work with, allowing us to decorate as we wished! They also allowed us to drop off all our decorations when it was convenient for us. We enlisted the services of Anna, the coordinator, and I don't know what we would have done without her! She was full of wonderful ideas and suggestions, and was very responsive to all our emails. We supplied the majority of the decorations and Anna placed them all exactly as my daughter had envisioned! East Lynn Farm, along with Anna, allowed my daughter to have the wedding she always dreamed of! I would completely recommend them to anyone who is considering this type of venue! read more
