I had to wait several more weeks for them to send off them to put into my paid for frames they had all along. No apologies. Waist of money cause I still had trouble with lens. They told me I would get use to them. I did not and will not go back . The doctors and that part of business I will give a great review.

I'm fine with myself wearing a mask, but I will not put a mask on my 2 year old. He has had multiple surgeries recently, and has been seen at TCH on multiple occasions, and they don't even make him wear them. When I explained he was only 2 years old the lady said he can wait in the car while I pick his glasses up. That would be fine if I wasn't by myself. She said it wouldn't take that long, and he could sit in the car while I ran in and picked his glasses up. For her to even think it's ok for someone to leave a child in a vehicle unattended much less say it out loud is very unsettling. She is either not a parent, or doesn't care for her childs safety. It is also against the law for anyone to leave a child unattended in a vehicle no matter what the temperature is outside.

We were all kept waiting for multiple hours, long past any reasonable amount of time. I was actually given two different stories (one that there were emergency surgeries that the sole doctor on duty that day had to perform, the other that the doctor was late because of a traffic jam in Houston. I don't know which story (if either) was true, but either story entails that the office is severely understaffed for the services it provides, presumably because having another doctor on call in case of absence or emergency would cut into profits. Other doctor's offices would have warned patients about the wait when they checked in or called to let them know, thereby giving us the chance to reschedule. Unfortunately, there was no concern for patients as people, only as sources of income for the clinic. Next time I need specialized eye care, I will visit any clinic other than this one.

Post appointment, after having my eyes dilated, I was told that I needed some glasses and that the Optometrist would hand my prescription over to the eyeglasses team for processing. Being new to needing glasses, I had no idea I could take my prescription elsewhere. (Sorta shady) Also, with no assistance or guidance, I picked out frames while my eyes were still dilated. Took them to the counter and glasses were paid for and order. I was told that the glasses would be in after 5-7 days and it was double that. During the mean time, there was no communication letting me know the timeline for the glasses would change. My wife had to call multiple times to check. I'll probably cancel my follow-up and go elsewhere.

Time for the annual eye exam so I decided to give Texas Optical a try. I am glad that I did. The…read morescheduler was able to get me an appointment when it was convenient for me. Paperwork was a minimum and they took my vision insurance. The vision tech was nice and Dr. Mark Weidenfeld was very friendly. He explained any issues that he found during the exam and gave me sound recommendations for future treatments. The exam was professional as you would expect. I plan on using this clinic in the future for all of my eye exams. I also looked at the selection of eyewear and found it very good. I am still deciding on new glasses and I will update the review once I decided when or if I need new glasses since my prescription did not change and new glasses are option.

They told her "you can take off your mask". I was furious that she didn't just leave, but I think she was in shock and too polite. The Dr told her that masks don't really work. Then he proceeded to insult president-elect Biden. So.... basically politics is more important than actual medical hygiene. She will be finding a new eye doctor. One who believes in science.
