If I could give them a nega score I would. I took my dog in on New Year's Eve this place not only killed my dog they stole money. I was quoted a price for treatment a two days of recovery. my dog laid on a table for hours supposedly waiting on a qualified vet that I never seen. They never did the procedure a charges my card as if they did. it waa the same price I was quoted for the surgery that never happened a vet never showed up. this place really needs to be shit down. Thesw unqualified people decided instead of telling me there was no one qualified the euthanized my dog and tried to pretend as if she died on the operating table. She was never prepped for surgery. There was no shaving over her tummy no cut, no stitches. She was never ever going to even have a surgery they decided.was money and that's what they did My dog took my money. These people are murderers. I had that dog for seven years. She was deaf. She was my baby my best friend. She died December 31, 2023. My life has not been the same I ever see this girl. I've done this to my dog in the streets well we can all just draw our own opinion I I hope and pray that no one ever takes their animal that's in need of help to this place because they can't do no more than I could've done at home. My dog died from heatstroke due to the negligence and carelessness from this facility. My dog Shadow recently started to show signs of parvo , Shadow last ate and drank lastnight and he was NOT severely malnourished or dehydrated from diarrhea, and a turgor test had also confirmed that before bringing him to the vet. My parents whom were watching him for me took him to this vet to avoid him getting worse. The vet had tested him for parvo which was $230+, I was on the phone with my parents while they were waiting on the test results so i had assumed that Shadow was inside the facility being seen by the vet since he was being tested for parvo. Turns out that this facility refused to allow Shadow inside to be seen, even after my parents informed the employees that the car A/C does not work while idling. It was 90 degrees outside and the test took30 minutes. It is unsafe to leave a dog in a car for 30 minutes if its 70 degrees outside so why would it be a good decision to leave a HUSKY that is running a fever outside in 90 degree heat and refuse to allow him inside knowing that the AC wasnt working properly? I am very disappointed in the fact that a "emergency vet clinic" would even allow this. If i had known that my dog was treated this way i would have told my parents to just leave and go somewhere else and my dog would still be alive right now. Shadow shouldve been treated as if he was contagious instead of just leaving him in the heat. Waiting until after my dog had died and then realizing that he should have been let inside instead of in the 90° heat and then trying to apologize is pathetic and should be considered malpractice and negligence. Apologizing is worthless if Shadow already died due to carelessness. I also have the reciept for the parvo test incase anyone from this facility would like to attempt to discredit this review. If i could leave zero stars i would. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. read more

We had a Rhodesian ridgeback that blew out both back knees. They were awesome, caring, professional and very good. The doctors had expertise, spot on diagnosis and very caring - made our dog as comfortable as possible until we could get surgery scheduled. We spent all weekend going back and forth from our place. Went back to Austin, earliest we could schedule operation was the following Wed. By comparison, Austin vets were rude as well as their staff. Finally we did find a great vet in Austin, but would have stayed in East Texas if it were not for work. I have the highest regard and greatest complements for this Emergency Clinic. I was in from out of town when my pup started experiencing terrible stomach issues to the point she would not eat or drink. My mom heard about the clinic from a friend and we went. They were so kind, careful to give me a price breakdown of everything (minus the vet exam fee, which was due at the time of service, which was fine. It was cheaper than what I'm used to). The staff was super knowledgeable and worked with me to find solutions to help my pup but also get us back home in time. My dog stayed over one night and I don't know what magic they worked but it was like nothing was ever wrong the next day. They gave me detailed instructions, loved on my girl, and made me feel so much better about the whole situation. There was an extended wait at times, but being an emergency clinic, it was like an emergency room--they take the most urgent cases first. Regardless, they were still very apologetic and made sure to let us know several times that we had not been forgotten. I hope never to need an emergency vet again, but if I do, I would feel so much better if every emergency vet clinic were like this one. read more

Prices are horrible my dog was sick they had him on IV and antibiotics for 8 hours twelve hundred dollars picked him up next morning took him to Kilgore he was there 8 days 540 dollars but emergency clinic did offer to put my dog down for free. So if you need to put your dog down it's the only thing reasonable there. read more

My 6-month-old daredevil-chihuahua-mix jumped out of our SUV and broke two bones in her front leg. The staff took us right in and got her pain mess almost immediately. They took x-rays and set her little leg in a custom splint so we could get back to Austin. They made sure she had everything we needed to keep her stable, from a hot-water-bottle to keep her temperature warm to the pain meds to keep her comfortable. The women were so unbelievably caring and supportive. I only wish we lived closer because I would us them as my vet!!! read more

My fur baby was attended here last night , everything was fine until I had to pay , i was charged the wrong amount 7 times and they refused to refund me the money mistakenly taken from my account, they stated "we don't show we charged you in our system " after i showed them all the charges on my bank statement. I asked a staff member when i could speak to a manager and she said she didn't know . I left the manager a voicemail,and never got a call back . On the recommendation of our normal veterinarian we took my mother's cat to this veterinarian. We were extremely impressed. They were very professional in the front office and took a very thorough history of the cat's previous illness (chronic kidney disease). The staff went out of their way to make the cat comfortable during the 20 minute wait for the vet. And once vet came in, she did a very though exam on the cat, asked lots of pertinent questions, and answered all of our questions thoughtfully on treatment options. Perhaps the most surprising thing about the entire visit, though, was that the prices were very reasonable, especially for a facility that is open on weekends and at night. I would encourage anyone needing after hours veterinary care to choose this facility. Top notch in every way. read more

These people seem to be more concerned about making money than treating the animals. My parents brought their blue healer in because it was on a weekend and their normal vet was closed. They spent over $500 dollars and they didn't even do blood work or test the urine sample. They had to pay $85 dollars up front before they looked at their dog. In a nutshell they did an X-ray, gave the dog morphine and sent them on their way. They ended up having to take their dog to another vet to find out was was wrong. read more

So impressed with this clinic. Our small dog had a severe laceration after hours and needed extensive irrigation and debridement with drains placed under anesthesia. They explained everything up front as well as cost which was very reasonable. We came back in a couple hours and they had even trimmed her nails while she was under anesthesia! I have used this emergency vet clinic a few times and I appreciate that this place is here. The few times I have been in there, the place has always been clean. You are required to pay the "office visit" portion up front before you are seen by the vet. The costs for meds and such is paid after the pet is seen. Ask about the meds! You know your animal, so speak up if you are uncomfortable or have a question about the clinic's recommended care for your animal. The staff will explain the medication to you. My dog is a grunty fat old thing and due to his grunting while we were there for another issue, he was deemed to be in "extreme pain" and he was prescribed pain meds...which I declined because I knew he was not in pain. read more

I need it to be known I came here on October 17th--AM because my dog was having random seizures. Upon her 85 "exam" the doctor (Bridget?) came out with a list of $1,000 things that needed to be done, because I could NOT afford it all I picked an enzyme test and a FULL CBC test--which I asked for NOT OPTED OUT--even though your paperwork said I opted out... LIES. The doctor comes back with ZERO results and just gives my dog phenobarbital. Upon taking the meds my dog begins to violently throw up and not hold anything down not even water. I call back up there Saturday night and the first thing I am told AFTER telling you all what she is experiencing.. the AFTER MID fee. SO obviously yall are ALL about money and not the issue of the pet. Fast forward to Monday morning, my dog can barely stand up, not eating, not drinking NOTHING.. Dr. Foye tells me they are going to run another CBC test because YOU ALL DID NOT run the full test. THE CHEAP PART OF THE TEST THAT IS. Results come back and my dog's white count was high and red count was low and was diagnosed with IMHA.. within 6 hours my dog is 75% herself. NO seizures (did I mention he took her off phen immediately as there was NO reason for her to be on them). $328 I get results and all you got was $240 of free money for basically killing my dog. You are the worse facility I have ever encountered. read more

Dr. Pina and team are wonderful! We brought my mother's 4 year dog, Billbea in soon after passing away. I was quite distraught due to the suddenness of the incident. My mother who arrived shortly after was also very upset. They went above and beyond to try and figure out what may have happened and were extremely compassionate. It truly made the difference on an extremely upsetting day. We are not from Longview,but I would highly recommend this clinic. They were thorough, but kind as well. read more

I had to take my best fur friend of 17 years to East Texas Pet Emergency Clinic on Fathers' Day. He wasn't going to make it until Monday, to take him to my regular veterinarian. Yes they charge an up front fee. They tell you that on the phone. It's because so many worthless people try to get something for nothing. The personnel at the clinic were kind, professional, and caring. Dr. Pena gave us a prognosis that wasn't favorable for continued care for my buddy. He had failing kidneys (we had another cat that died from that, and it's not a fun disease), so we decided to give him a sleepy shot, then euthanasia. Probably the hardest decision I have ever made. 17 years is a long friendship to end. I highly recommend East Texas Pet Emergency Clinic. Thank you all, very much. read more

I took my 15 year old cat in at 2 am on Friday night. He had been sick for a month and had made 3 trips to 2 other clinics and was getting worse. Dr. Duncan saw him and was very kind and thorough and prescribed a different antibiotic as well as a medicine no other vet had ever mentioned and 36 hours later my cat has made a miracle recovery! I can't thank Dr. Duncan enough and recommend this clinic very highly!!! They were less expensive than a regular hours clinic on top of the excellent care Hobo received. The pet care was excellent although pricey. Wrote a check for over $600. The final bill was less but a month later I'm still waiting for my refund. They use a check service called "Check Center" to process the checks and refunds but there's no listing for them. There certainly is a trend in the business world to take your money quickly but string it out on the refund. Oh well - the dog lived. read more

Just wanted to let people know if you have to go to the er and can make it Tyler or Shreveport I would recommend that before going to this place. Based on staff that showed no compassion for our pet or my wife who was upset, we left. She was ruder when I told her we had called and asked if they were busy. She said no, so we headed over only to find four people waiting and all the exam rooms full. We were only four miles from the vet. When I ask her how would it be until we could see the vet she replied when we get a open room. I asked if there was another er in town she replied no, other than Tyler or Shreveport then added if we'like to go there. I plan on calling the vet to let them know they need to train their staff on how to be professional and show a little more compassion. Giving this place a one star only because you cannot give a no star. read more

I will never take my pet there again! He must have caught himself on a barbed-wire fence or wire on a chain-link fence yesterday and ripped about a 4 inch slice into his chest. It was not into the tissue or muscle, just the skin, but pretty gaped. Our regular Vet here in Mt. Pleasant was out of town for the weekend, so it was recommend by another Vet office to take him to East Texas Pet Emergency Clinic. Although it wasn't life threatening, I felt he needed attention, so we drove 45 minutes to Longview for care at 7:00 p.m. We had a long wait because they had an emergency ahead of us. (a $1700 tab to "stabilize" a dog that would need to be transferred elsewhere for care, that had been run over by it's teen-aged owner who was hysterical). I should have been alerted when we were told the $85 office visit would have to be paid before they would see our baby, a 32lb basset hound/terrier mix. I told them I'd pay all of it with one charge on my Credit Card when they had finished, but was told it was their 'policy' to get the OV up front. I understand now... After being called in to an examining room and waited another 30 minutes, they weighed him, took about 10 minutes to take his temp, look at his teeth and check his heart rate before they looked at his gash and said, "Yes, he needs to be sewn up." They then went away and left us for 30 more minutes and came back with a $850.00 estimates of charges for care!!! They said with his age, he'd need to be put to sleep for 'surgery' ($450) and would need an IV ($150) and misc. other items to add up to $850 excluding the $85 I had already paid for the OV......BULL CRAP! He's 8 years old and a solid reason NOT to put him to sleep. SURGERY??? It would have taken them 30 minutes with a local anesthetic and 4 to 6 sutures!! He has been sewn up , in the same spot, with a LOT worse laceration from a dog attack a couple of years ago by our local vet for $75.00, OV included!! When I told them NO WAY, they asked if I wanted the antibiotics so he wouldn't get an infection before I could get him in on Monday to our vet. $85.00!!! NOPE! Last antibiotics I got for our dogs for being spaded was $10 at our vet! We took him and left, stopped by Walmart for some antibiotic ointment and had some pain pills for him at home. Bought some feminine pads and a tight sweater with the generic antibiotic ointment, all for under $12,00 and took him home, cleaned it, put the ointment to keep it moist, put the pad on with the sweater over it to protect it till Monday (the pads will stick to the sweater and keep in place. ET Pet Emergency Clinic in Longview, Tx is highway robbery and takes advantage of people in their moment of panic when their pet is injured with no place else to go! I will NOT be back there for sure!!! read more

Well, Shea, at least they treated your animal. I took my elderly Chihuahua in at 1:30 AM tonight with erratic breathing (fast panting), apparent chest pain and rather severe abnormal 'antsy' behavior. I was very scared that it could be a heart attack. Wasn't sure what was wrong. I get there and they took the dog from me into the back room and said I needed to fill out paperwork first. I told her there was important information I need to tell the vet first and she said "No. It's just their procedure to get all the paperwork done first." Now it was all coming back to me why I didn't like this place. The Vet is AWESOME and did well by my pet last emergency, but there were three (I'm trying to use restraint here) annoying gals shoving paper after paper at me (ended up being 4 or 5 papers that needed a signature mostly covering their butts and saying something that I agree with that hadn't even been gone over yet) and ALL the gals were asking me the same exact questions, one at a time before any treating of the animal was done. When the third gal came in and it was apparent that she was asking THE SAME questions, I told her that I had already answered those questions. Her response was, "Well, I wasn't there." I responded, "That's my point." Still don't think she got it. Why all this inefficiency in an emergency situation. Several of the papers were promises to pay various charges IF THEY BECAME APPLICABLE. What ever happened to getting the patient treated then I settle up. I asked them if their experience was people running out of the building owing them money or something. ALL THIS before looking at my animal. So tonight the gal behind the counter won't take my name and pet information to look up on the computer and starts telling me that I sounded rude to her. I explained that this wasn't rude...it was scared that my dog was dying and I was wanting her to take my information so we could take care of my dog. She started raising her voice at me and stalling some more so I said, "I didn't come here for some sort of altercation...I came to get my dog treated...PLEASE take my information and treat my dog!!!!" Then she got mad at me when I asked her to lower her voice. She said this sounded rude to her and she didn't have to take rudeness and gave me back my dog. I couldn't believe this. Putting his life at risk. She OBVIOUSLY has no clue what it's like to love an animal who is in distress. As terrible as she was, and as devastated as I was with the place, I hope she is never on the receiving end of what she dished out tonight. Leaving, I called ahead and woke my regular Vet who gladly met me and treated Lil Buddy. He will be OK. I agree with Shea Davidson's comment below that the girls here are ENTIRELY about money and forms way, way, way before the well being of the animal. I do, however, think very highly of the Vet there. She apologized for the girls last time. read more
