We recently hired Environmental Property Services of Virginia (Affiliated with Eastern Grounds and Landscaping) to remove our in-ground swimming pool, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the initial planning through the final grading and seeding, the project was exceptionally well organized. Bill Schultz, the owner, did an outstanding job managing the project and maintained excellent communication throughout the entire process. He kept us informed every step of the way, answered our questions promptly, and made sure everything stayed on schedule. Jamie Foote, the Office Manager, was equally wonderful to work with. She was professional, responsive, and made the scheduling and administrative process smooth and stress-free. While it cost $15500 to have the entire project completed, I couldn't be happier with how Bill and Jamie handled things and worked with me from the early planning, work progress and completion, payments, and the final review and approval of the permitted work by the Fairfax County inspection staff. Bill and Jamie are also very nice people who I enjoyed working with and I appreciated the due professional care and their personal attention to my concerns and issues which were addressed in a timely and professional manner. The work crew arrived on time every day, explained what they would be doing, and kept us informed as the project progressed. The pool was demolished, dump trucks were scheduled efficiently, dirt and topsoil were delivered as planned, and the yard was carefully graded and leveled. The finishing touches, including seeding the lawn, were completed with great attention to detail. The professionalism, communication, and workmanship of everyone involved were outstanding. We are extremely pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend Environmental Property Services to anyone considering pool removal or similar site work. I want to commend and praise your company for responding to our request to look at a problem originating from the work you performed for us. Not only did you come and look at the problem, you called and told us what you planned to do about the problem. As a result of your plans, you solved the problem, and we are happy with your completed resolution of the problem. Your performance showed how conscientious you are in guaranteeing the quality of your work. We were very happy and relieved that you took care of the problem. Moreover, your response was quick, and your solution was professionally executed. Details of your original task involved the removal of a tree and its stump. An electric wire was running through the tree and the workers had to be careful working around the wire. During the removal of some of the large branches, one of the branches must have leaned against the wire. The workers did not notice that the weight of the branch had loosened one of the ceramic mounts form the side of the house, causing the wire to sag a little. For about two or three months after the tree and stump were removed, we did not notice that the ceramic mount was hanging loose and that the wire was sagging a little. When we did notice the problem, we called Eastern Grounds, and the rest is history with a very happy ending. read more

Bill, Peter & Jose did a great job on our backyard. I'm a construction manager so I've worked with hundreds of companies before, but this company definitely stands out as a reputable & quality company. The owner, Bill, came out and gave us a quote the same day and he had great customer service and understanding of what we were trying to do. Gave us a reasonable price and reassurance on how it would turn out. His team came in the very next day, even during a typically hectic post/pre pandemic summer season and gave our mostly square concrete backyard a huge upgrade. They power washed the wood fence, stained and painted it, excavated along the sides of the fence where we had a ton of weeds and soil, back filled with some plastic and small beautiful rocks to match the fence color, fixed our drainage issues (majority of the issues in our yard were drainage related) and cleaned up after themselves. Their work definitely drew the attention of our neighbors and we now have a usable backyard for our kids to play in. I'll definitely use them again if I have any other landscaping needs and I've already recommended them to a lot of people I know. read more

We've had the pleasure of being an Eastern Grounds Landscaping customer for about 10 years now. It started out with the mowing service and now includes landscaping as well. We've always had very pleasant experiences with not only Bill but the other staff and workers as too. They are always very professional, courteous, respectful and extremely knowledgeable. We recently had some drain repair work. The water flow had to be redirected in another direction. An enormous amount of digging was done BY HAND. It was quite an enormous job to watch them perform. It was an all day job. Even though a couple of parts arrived later then expected and our date was pushed back a couple of times, the end result was well worth waiting for. Bill told me he wanted the job done perfectly, and perfect it was! The diligence and passion the crew demonstrated that day sums up the integrity of Eastern Grounds. Eastern Grounds Landscaping provides excellent service! We've been using them for several years for nearly-year-round maintenance of Whitehall Pool and Tennis Club in Bowie. They get the entire property landscaping cleaned-up, pruned, edged, mulched, and decorated with flowers in the spring and keep it looking sharp throughout the summer. Additional fall lawn maintenance and leaf removal is also performed expertly. The crews are professional and do beautiful work. Our yard was very boring and lacked any sort of depth and personality. Now it's a great place for me to putter around in my garden for years to come.
