Between the animals in and our of the barn, the giant sandbox, and the tetherball, this was a great little area to hang out in. They also had a fun basketball hoop in a wagon which sent your ball back every time. That was fun! They had wagon rides, plenty of food and drinks available, and for the birthday party we got a couple of their homemade cinnamon donuts which were delicious. We didn't do any blueberry picking but we will be back for that. However they have the store in the barn which had maple syrup, jams, produce, and so many other great items. We grabbed a few more donuts and a jar of homemade jam. This is a great spot for the family or even just a weekend date. We will be coming back for more soon!

This place is the definition of an instagrammable summer spot! As the name implies, this is a HUGE…read moresunflower field, and the sights are incredible. Nothing beats yellow heads of petals, taller than you are, as far as the eye can see! Well, depending on how tall you are, they either tower over you, or are the size of your peers. There is a nice path through the main field, with plenty of opportunity to snap beautiful photos of yourself, your family and friends, or the flowers themselves. Be prepared to bring rubber boots or closed toed shoes if it has rained recently, as the pathway is in a field of dirt! There is a second side where there are all sorts of photo opp items to see, including my favorite, a bright pink tractor! There's painted boards with cut outs for your face, and lots of farm equipment dispersed throughout. You can grab food from the multiple food trucks/stands on the property, sit and eat under their many large tents with tables and benches. There are the typical trinkets and toys for kids to purchase, and they have a big mining setup, which my kid absolutely adores. He spent over 20 minutes just playing with the water! There are other activities throughout the season but we didn't check them out, we opted for a quieter trip where we could walk, and the crowd was smaller. It does get crowded, so plan accordingly! If you have children who can't walk too far, bring a wagon or stroller, but make sure it has big, rugged wheels! And of course, you can choose to cut your own flowers in the cutting field, or you can grab a pre-cut bouquet if you prefer. Also, you can feel free to dry the seeds from the flowers you purchase, and plant them next year- keeping a sunflower patch in perpetuity from just one trip- but that's the gardener in me giving advice. I personally grow a variety of sunflowers in my garden every year, but always enjoy coming to this place to see the majesty of all these flowers in one spot. This is a must do in the summer, at least once!

There is a CSA that is offered as well and while I have not yet signed up for it, I'm curious what the cost is. The produce is pretty good for being grown in an urban setting. They offer fresh veges in areas that don't have lots of grocery stores. This listing is for their main location, but they have picked up another 10 or so lots around the West Side. There are some ft employees, but they also run an active internship program for local kids. Their CSA sold out this year, but there's always next year. Went there hoping to pick Asian pears but was a rather strange interaction. First, we were the only…read moreones there, which in and of itself was unique as there was an apple place right down the street that was so busy cars spilled out of the parking lot and down the street. Their Facebook page though said it was picking season and guests are welcome so thought to try it. The cost on the sign for picking pears was $2.50/lbs, which I thought a good deal but when we asked to pick we were handed a 15-gallon wooden basket. When we advised we were only planning to buy 5-10lbs, they said we could only buy the pre-picked ones (which were more expensive and much smaller). Cost aside we were looking to actually pick our own but oh well. The owner seems nice but maybe it's customer base is not the U-pick type Ended up going to the Smith Orchard Cider Mill about a mile away , which was really nice

And all you need to do is be respectful - don't pick the flowers! (Sadly, despite the signs there were a few fallen sunflowers on the ground.) This gorgeous plot of sunflowers is at the corner of Baer and Saunders Settlement Rd, and is pretty hard to miss. If the sunflowers don't give it away, you should catch people parking along the side of Baer to snap some quick photos with their children and friends. (At least, that's what I encountered. Surprisingly busy on a Tuesday morning!) I love this. I'm always snapping pictures of gorgeous flowers that I stumble across, and the fact that the Danielewicz's are inviting people to come and enjoy their beautiful field just makes me want to visit again, and thank them for allowing everyone else to come and enjoy it! They had so many things going on,…read moreincluding a tractor ride, tree tapping demo, animals to pet, maple mead sampling from 810 Meadworks, a huge variety of maple products for sale, and food (maple chili, maple sloppy Joe, maple hot dogs, maple ice cream, maple pancakes, maple cotton candy, maple popcorn, maple donuts, and more!) We bought several maple products including maple peanut butter, maple syrup, maple onion dip mix, and maple meringue drops. Everything was great and I'll definitely come back here for a future maple weekend.

It's a fun, educational and, of course, sweet time for everyone. Wolf Maple Products Farm was the perfect destination. There was something for everyone. It's definitely a great place for families with children. With a small playground, petting zoo and tractor rides, your kids won't be bored. For us, just being in the countryside was cool. Of course, buying a jug of maple syrup is a must. We also had warm, freshly made maple cream glazed donuts. To make that not enough, we covered each bite with maple soft serve ice cream. It was sweet heaven:). The place is not particularly huge and was rather crowded. The lines to the food section or the tractor ride can be long. But you're outside enjoying the fresh spring air, taking your time to do anything. The weather was perfect, which obviously helped. Next year, check out their Facebook page for more details.
