Very difficult tree removal several other companies wouldnt even bid the job it was ver close to power lines right up against my garage.estimator came out review the area took measurements and spent a good bit of time going over several ways to get this job done. Gave me a great price a lot lower than other companies told me it might be. When crews showed up so did management and the estimator. They seem to work together very well but the tree is down and cleaned up without any issues so glad they took care of my problem. Very good tree company very professional. read more

Definitely the least expensive quote of all the ones I received to take a tree down in my front yard. However- I had to wait a month for them to come out.(not a big deal at the time) They cut the tree down and left the mess in my yard. Also the stump has not been grinded. I'm pretty sure my then nice grass is ruined but I can't tell because the debris has been in my yard for almost two weeks now. I've had to call multiple times and I was told I was "on the schedule" but couldn't give me an exact date and time as to when they were going to finish the job. They said they would get to it when they could get to it. And that they were extremely busy. I get that. Everybody is busy right now but that doesn't excuse poor communication and service. Very disappointing thus far. I just want my yard back. update 10/20- So they started on my yard almost a month ago. They finally removed all the debris and grinded the stump. After I asked them i don't know how many times. They guys that came out and did the last of the clean up had a nice little loud argument in the front yard. and they dented my mailbox. Since i can see my yard now. It is pretty much destroyed. There are ruts and holes all over the place. They finally came out today and "fixed" it but when i say fix, i mean they threw out grass seed and wiped the mailbox off. update 10/21 they knocked 200.00 dollars off for my trouble. /ticket closed. decide for yourself if this is what you want. Very unprofessional. 3 appointments no show no call. Absolutely do not waste your time with this "company"

I did not have a good experience. They damaged my home (they had to replace a window and repair wood on a soffit). The cut trees sat in the yard for a month, so those areas will need new sod this spring. I still have a light that needs to be fixed as a result of the "repair" of the soffit. The problem is, I paid them thinking that everything was done - they've now gone silent on me. They started cutting the trees down on 10/27/21, it's now February 11, 2022. I was initially told it would be a three day job. I can NOT recommend this company. read more

Eastern Tree Service Inc - BEWARE!!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would. BEWARE! I think I have only written one review in my life, and this will be the second, but it is worth it for such a horrific experience with this absolutely horrible and unprofessional company I have ever contracted to do business with. I contracted ETS in October for 5 tree removes and stump grinding. Here's the story and timeline of a FOUR-month saga. I had in August a retaining wall built in my backyard; done well and looked beautiful. When I hired ETS to do the job we created the work order to avoid any removal or damage to the new retaining wall. They sent out a brand-new crew to my house while I was at work to start the tree removal. First issue: the new crew did not follow the work order to bring down the massive trees piece by piece, instead they let giant trees fall. Which not only took out one adult big tree (dogwood) but took out half of my neighbor's tree, and the whole top half of a brand-new tulip magnolia I had just planted in the spring. Second issue: they sent out over a week later (leaving my yard full of FIVE giant trees cut up and down remind you). This cleanup crew ALSO did not follow the given work order and COMPLETELY DESTROYED my brand-new retaining all. (I have pics and videos) Ripped the out rock from the entire trench behind the wall and demolished the trench tarp that lined on the backside of the wall. Ruined by brand new sod that was also installed in August with their bobcat, also damaging the firepit. ETS agreed that the work order was not followed, offered their apologies and said they would fix everything that they were insured. I am on month FOUR now dealing with them and trying my very best to get repairs done, I have been the one to make almost every single phone call asking for updates asking for them to please come out. I even went and got another company to quote the repairs that way if they could not come out to please pay another company to do the work. Third issue: Many more weeks have passed and to date I still have a completely destroyed yard, retaining wall and now that they have ripped out the retaining wall and all rock that was stabilizing the ground my large storage shed is now starting to fall down the hill. ETS has made a ton of promises and has fulfilled none of them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Why is a company insured if they are unwilling to repair damaged done while working on site??? read more

My experience with Eastern Tree Services, and their owner Robert Young, is the worst experience that I have had with a contractor in my 55 years as a homeowner. It started on November 30, 2021, when I contracted with Eastern Tree to have 6 trees removed from my property for $3,400. They arrived to do the work on January 4, 2022. Over the following weeks they did over $8,800 of damage to my home and property. They used a Bobcat to remove small trees from my back yard rather than drag them from the yard to the curbside. The Bobcat broke several of our steppingstones and tore up the sod leaving 4-inch ruts in places. This resulted in me having to replace 250 yards of sod at a cost of $6,000 As they were removing a tree with the aid of a boom truck, they dropped a limb through my roof damaging the roof, soffit, facia, and gutters on the west side of my home. They immediately had a roofer come and patch the roof, but the shingles did not match which will require my roof to have to be washed at an estimated cost of $750. They were not able to find a carpenter to repair the soffit, facia and gutters and told me to go ahead and have it done, and they would pay for the work. I had the work done for $2,100 and sent them the invoice which they have now refused to pay . The boom truck used to remove the tree pulled into my front yard. I had been assured that they would put down pads to insure no damage to my yard and irrigation system. They did not put down pads and then spun the tires on the Boom Truck leaving two 12 feet by 2 feet by 4-inch areas of damage to the sod in my front yard. The owner, Robert Young, sent his son out and inspected the damage and he assured me that it would all be taken care of. It is now March 20, 2022, and nothing has been done. Eastern Tree no longer answers my phone calls or respond to my emails or messages. I have not paid the $3,400 for the work and intend to use those funds to pay for the damage that they caused. I will then have to get a judgment in Small Claims Court for the additional cost of repairing the damage that they did to my home. Eastern Tree did $8,850 in damages to my home and property and then refused to communicate with me to resolve the matter. I feel the state of Alabama should revoke their business license to operate in the state. A review of the other complaints found on Yelp and the Better Business would substantiate my opinion that the public needs to be protected from Robert Young and his business practices. read more

Just proves what a tough job tree removal is. There will be issues along the way with tree location and neighbor property egress. But after all is said and done, this company has a good crew that knows its work! I didn't rate five (highest) because the owner/foreman needs to pay closer attention to some of their younger workers as they move about the work area in close proximity to each other. Exciting watching them work but a few encounters were just a little too close for comfort for this untrained observer. I called Eastern Tree to get an estimate for a tree removal. They were prompt in coming to my house. But, while going over the estimate with Robert (the estimator), I mentioned how they'd given me an estimate a couple years ago, and he curtly asked me, "Well, why did you call us again?!" VERY RUDE!! I tried to give this company my business and received a major attitude in return. This is terrible customer service and a poor business practice. I used Eastern Tree Service and their sister company Detailed Services for a roof repair and removal of a tree that had fallen on my house. Both are owned by Andrew Sharpe. I paid them $22500 deposit and they completed $17400 worth of work. They then failed to return the remainder of my deposit. After numerous phone calls, emails, and text messages I was finally able to speak to the owner. However the owner told me "the company is basically bankrupt" and that if I wanted to get paid I would have to "wait in line then". He further stated "if you demand you will get nothing". read more

I will never use Eastern Tree Service ever again. They cut down an oak tree in my yard. Tree was on my deck from a storm. There was no damage from the storm to my deck but when Eastern was removing the tree they dropped it on my deck and damaged it. They charged is 2.600.00 dollars to remove this tree. They damaged my deck and took almost a month to fix it. Not only did they take this long to fix it but I had to keep calling because the person who they sent wouldn't show up. Oh he said and I quote I forgot I'm getting old .He had to come several times because he didn't fix it right. This is a lot of money for the service we received. Not an apology or nothing. read more

He was very interested in identifying the foul mouthed employee and I was happy to help with that. I really never expected to hear from the company again. Back in March of 2017 I contracted with Eastern Tree Service to remove 9 trees. I also referred them three other customers, about $5000 in work in addition to the work they were to do at my home. The guys showed up on time, started cutting trees all over the yard, piling up limbs, blocked the neighbors driveway, cut a 30 year old Pecan tree in my neighbors yard to make way for their bucket truck, at the end of the day, left with all the debris still in my yard as well as my neighbors yard. Their equipment was worn out and it left big nasty oil spots in the road and drive-way. We called Donna, who worked in the office and complained and asked for the owner to call us back, which never happened. We had to secure another company to come and complete the job and clear the debris. Still to this day have not heard from the owner. What a bunch of losers. I even paid one of the supervisors on site cash aside from the job to do some extra stuff. Later learned he is the son of Donna and did not report it. We had a tree fall on our house in the middle of the night. The next morning, I called Eastern Tree Service. They sent out a project manager, Bob, within 30 minutes. By that afternoon, Bob and his team had the tree off of our house, hauled away and our roof temporarily covered by that evening. The whole crew was polite, professional and efficient. We had twin oaks in a tight spot in our front yard between our house and power lines. We were quoted by another company $1200 more to do the same job. It had been raining so our yard was slightly messed up from the tree removal, but when it dried out, they came and left sod and hay out to repair our yard free of charge. Just recently hired Eastern Tree service to remove a large dead pine, which sat uncomfortably close to our home. Robert came to give an estimate within hours, and his crew arrived within 24 hours! They did a wonderful job and immaculately cleaned the yard of all debris! Quick, professional, reasonably priced, and superb job!
