I came in to workout and noticed my card would not come up on my phone. The mgr Kristen offered to…read morehelp. She proceeds to tell me I owe $188. I pull up my checking account to show her the $ has been coming out every month since OCT without incident and even having my picture taken a couple weeks ago. I told her I never received communication regarding owing anything to which she told me "Well I just told you." WHAT?! I asked when was this owed since I signed up in Oct 2024 without issue. 2022!!!!. She continued to go about her business not even trying to address my issue personally but instead accusing me of sidestepping the fees by creating another account. Explained if that was her attitude then I will take my business elsewhere. She told me then go. Frankly I told her she was acting like a b**** and needs to work on her customer service if she is truly the manager. Then it was, "I'm calling the police." Which was fine with me. All this is happening at the counter in front of several members. I said just cancel my account. She replies she already did. I asked for the owners # which she would not give me. All I got was her name and the # for the Elkhart PF. I returned to PF because I felt comfortable there and the quality of workout equipment for your money. I have an 800 credit score and I am a business owner myself but would want to know if my customers were being treated this way.

I was almost 46 and had never ever done anything more strenuous than walk my dog. I was invited to…read morethe gym and thought it would be fun to try for the summer. That was 9 years ago and I have been regularly coming to the gym ever since. My health and fitness have definitely improved thanks to the programming and nutritional advice offered. Crossfit Elkhart has a super supportive and nurturing atmosphere. Turns out I'm pretty competitive and that is also supported by the members and coaches from being encouraged to do competitions or just trying to beat your workout buddies. Everyone is positive and will go out of their way to help. The community at Crossfit Elkhart is very family like and it is amazing how quickly strangers turn into close friends. We celebrate milestones and holidays as well as having a group of people available to hang out with outside of the gym. Crossfit Elkhart helped me from going from a middle aged woman with no athletic background to a crossfit games age qualifier athlete and granite games competitor. Debbie

Not to mention, the people here are amazing and supportive- definitely a family type of feel with people who help push me forward while aiding in holding me accountable. All of the coaches (and members) are great at explaining details and helping to break down each movement so that I can easily learn how to master them! (AND they are also extremely patient with me, which I need since I'm new to crossfit!) Very grateful that I began here! I wish I had started sooner.

Would not recommend anyone start using this gym. I signed up three years ago and when my work…read morestatus changed I requested they cancel my membership. I was traveling a LOT at the time and they refused to do it over the phone, only in person. The next time I was in town I went in and requested in person that this be cancelled. The young guy at the counter told me it was done, no worries. Never received an email or any follow up. Called again three different times and was told it was "cancelled." Noticed it was still coming out and called AGAIN. This went on for TWO YEARS before finally telling my bank it was fraudulent and not to process any more charges. I get an email about my "missed" payment to which I replied "is this a joke? How many times do I have say THIS IS CANCELLED!!!" Two days later I get an email from someone named Zach Ake confirming it was cancelled.

I have been a longtime member of Eastlake Athletic Club, particularly the Goshen location dating…read moreback to when it was known as Area Fitness. I used to genuinely enjoy coming here, as it was undoubtedly the best gym in Elkhart County. The previous owners were deeply invested in their members and clearly cared about fostering a high-quality gym and a strong sense of community. However, since the change in ownership--and more recently, what seems to be a shift in management--the gym has turned its back on its members and the culture that was so highly valued. The implementation of several seemingly arbitrary rules, combined with ongoing issues such as ceiling leaks, broken equipment/amenities, and providing substandard repairs and replacements, has significantly diminished the quality and experience that members once enjoyed. Some of these new rules include: 1. Discontinuing the use of metal weights in certain areas 2. A permanent ban on chalk usage And the recent and, in my opinion, the most ridiculous rule implemented 3. Prohibiting water use, including water for consumption, in the sauna In addition, the music selection has been drastically altered, replacing the motivating playlists that gym-goers had grown accustomed to with a lighter, pop-oriented selection that does little to inspire or energize members. Music plays a critical role in creating a motivating environment, and this change has detracted from the gym's atmosphere. This morning, I came to the gym for a workout and to use the sauna, fully respectung the no-water rule of the sauna. However, I was rudely informed by staff that the sauna was closed and was told to leave. When I politely inquired about how long the sauna would be out of service, the staff member dismissed my question with a curt "I don't know." Eastlake states on their website, "We are devoted to providing exceptional sports and fitness amenities to help keep Michiana active and healthy." This a bold claim to be made as decisions and actions do not reflect this statement and in reality have been nothing but a disappointment to it's members. The sole reason you have a gym is because of it's members not in spite of them. It's clear the owners Jason Evers & Justin Evers along with the entire Eastlake team have prioritized enforcing the strict rules over addressing members' concerns or fostering positive interactions. Members have even been threatened with termination of their memberships for infractions. I have made every effort to respect the direction the gym is taking, although it's evident that there is a significant disconnect between Eastlake and the members they serve. The recent threat to permanently close the sauna is especially concerning and would be a huge mistake. For many members, the sauna is a key reason they are willing to pay the membership fees. Removing this amenity would undoubtedly result in frustration and dissatisfaction among a large portion of the membership base. It should come as no surprise to Eastlake and its team if members begin canceling their memberships and choosing to go elsewhere.
