I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. The best part is he doesn't oversell you on things you don't need. In my case I wanted a system to eventually be ready for an electric car. Dean wisely advised not to buy the extra pieces now when they would be of no value to me, but ensured my system would be ready for upgrades when I was ready. Since our initial install we have upgraded our system on 3 occasions, each time carefully planned out to maximize the value of the equipment and to get the best bang for the buck. I called for an estimate which cost $200. That initially threw me but it's absolutely worth it as he does a thorough inspection and I would rather pay to know that it's done right! He was at my home within a couple of hours and what he told me was exactly in line with what the home inspection guy told me when I bought my home down to the last detail. No BS whatsoever and his quote was very competitive. I immediately felt comfortable with everything. Of course he credited the $200 to the cost of the job and we scheduled him to start about 10 days later. Then, about 2 days later a big rainstorm was scheduled to hit Ventura and dump a couple of inches of rain. I called Neri that morning and before I could even speak he said he was just about to call me and that he was heading over with some material to patch the exposed cracks and loose vents on my dilapidated roof to make SURE I would get through the storm without any leaks. He showed up in an hour and took care of it. AMAZING. My roof is about 1500 square feet and they had to remove 2 previous layers of shingles and replace everything. I wasn't stalking them but I happened to be home and working on my house as well and I spent a good amount of time watching them work. They pulled every single old nail and replaced every single flashing, valley, and vent, and placed every shingle PERFECTLY using quality materials. Very efficient and very professional. They showed up on time, worked hard (in a 100 degree heat wave), and had it done in 2 days as promised.
