Washington Crossing Historic Park is more than 500 acres, and it has several sections.) The Thompson-Neely Section includes the Thompson-Neely Bridge, the Thompson-Neely House, the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill, and a memorial cemetery (graves of Washington Crossing soldiers). The Thompson-Neely House and grounds served as an encampment site for part of the Continental Army in December 1776. So there's a lot of history here, and you can walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath to each of the sites in this section. It's perhaps not as organized as the main section of the park; there's no visitor center in this section, but it's not too complicated - there's parking near the General Sullivan Pavilion and the house and grist mill, and then you can wander to each of the sites. (I don't recall a map of the section anywhere, but each site is on Google Maps, and that's what I used to make my way between them.) I was at the park in the late afternoon, and I don't think the house or grist mill was open, but I enjoyed walking along the towpath to the memorial cemetery, the bridge, and to see the exterior of the house and grist mill. New Hope has a lot to offer, but Washington Crossing Historical Park is great to include on your itinerary for exploring the area if you want to take in a little local/regional/American history!

Operated by the Friends of Washington Crossing, my partner and I visited the site on the PA side this morning where their departure was preserved at Washington Crossing Historic Park. Reservation was easily made yesterday on their website for the 10:30am tour. Between the Upper Section that has the Thompson-Neely House and Revolutionary War Soldier's grave. The Lower Section has the Visitor Center and the Old Village right at the site of the crossing. This encompasses 500 acres, which represents much more than a single event. Upon arrival, we had time to walk around the perimeter of the Visitor Center. When the building opened at 10am, we entered and were greeted by the staff. Inside had a wonderful auditorium and exhibit hall that featured the canon Marquis de Lafayette gave to the Continental Army. Our tour started by watching a short film about the history of the crossing. We further followed our tour guide David Price outside to the large white barn to view a Durham boat, similar to what George and his men used during the crossing. He led us along the Delaware River among the fall foliage to talk about the war leading up to and following the December 26 Battle of Trenton. He was able to make history come alive for us at $7 per person. The park also has wonderful historical homes but were closed while we were there. It's an ideal spot for picnicking, hiking, and bird watching. The well-maintained trails and scenic overlooks allow visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. They do reenactments of the crossing on Christmas Day and one earlier in December. It's recommended to check their website. It's a remarkable place offering a unique blend of American history and natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination for history buffs and nature lovers alike, which we can recommend.

I didn't notice the front end and side fender was damaged because I bought the car at night and the damage was on the bottom of the front spoiler. They promptly scheduled my car for repair and also buffed and detailed the right side of the car due to some heavy scratches noticed after the purchase. I think that a lot attendant or salesman hit a curb while driving the car and never reported the damage. The Organization has had a major impact on the community for as long as I can remember and I knew that they would take care of me their customer. I will definitely purchase my next car during the daytime so I can thoroughly examine the car , but I had confidence that this dealership only offers premium automobiles.

Thompson replaced it within a week. Reported that we were replacing oil too quickly. Thompson did a couple of oil consumption tests, partnering with Audi. Thompson had Audi replace rings and pistons. No charge. No fighting. Andi from the BMW service team was wonderful. My daughter loves the car. We love that Thompson said what they said they were going to do. Funny how while their sales representative was "doing everything he could" to get me the "best price possible" with my credit union, I was on the phone with them myself. Go figure, we both had credit approval for the exact same car, with the exact same trade in value... But they showed 9.8% interest vs my 4.2%. They also showed a sale price of $24,890 for a base model Corolla WITH the $6,000 trade in vs my $12,870 with the same trade in (car was only listed at $18,870 MSRP, so how the heck does it come up to $30,890 with a $6,000 trade in???? Keep in mind, the loans were BOTH APPROVED THROUGH THE SAME CREDIT UNION. Obviously trying to sneak in additional $ on the price of the car. SHADY! Needless to say, I accepted the terms that I HAD gotten from the credit Union, and declined their offer". Next, I went into the service department after 5,000 miles had been accrued to get my oil changed. They did it and told me that I am ineligible for the 10,000 mile service since they only change the oil every 15,000 miles. What!? They NEVER EXPLAINED THAT AT THE ONSET AND STOLE A GUARANTEED SERVICE FROM TOYOTA CARE FROM ME. DON'T TRUST THESE SCUMBAGS WITH YOUR CAR OR MONEY

Breakfast the next morning is community style where you may be sitting across another guest at your table. Breakfast was delicious and included in house prepared pound cake. They asked if we wanted the meat or vegetarian quiche ahead of time and since we couldnt decide we got both and split both haha. We came up during winter when there was still snow on the ground, and when we showed up it was rainy and dark, but in the light of day next morning we could see that the grounds were beautiful. Everyone was very nice and friendly, working out all of the details for our estimate. They came out to the house to do our template, then the granite was ready for installation within 2 weeks (we are weekenders so our availability was limited). Due to snow storm conditions, the installers were delayed, but they provided timely ETAs. For the installation, they brought mats so snow/dirt wasn't tracked in. They were in and out in no time. I thought it looked fabulous. My boyfriend had only 1 complaint but could live with it. Not sure we'll need more granite, but if we did, we would definitely return to Thompson!

The bottom line is the Black Bass Hotel is a solid choice and the atmosphere cannot be beat if you get a riverside table. The portions are generous and the food is quite good. Review for the D&H rail trail from the PA-NY state line to Carbondale, PA…read more The D&H rail line runs N-S through NE PA and provides scenic view of rural PA. I had the chance to ride it on 6/12/21, and found tge trail to be unimproved and rugged from Lanesboro to Thompson; below Thompson, tge trail improves to Uniondale, and becomes improved packed fine gravel to Forest City and beyond. My 29x3.0 Trek was the perfect t rig for riding the rugged portions of the trail. A gravel bike would have been a slower go through the northern portion, but would have been perfect below Uniondale. Standard mountain bike would have sufficed also. The trail will take you through deep forests, along open rolling farm land, scenic towns, and remote lakes. Deer, birds, turtles, and rabbits were my main companions for tge first 20 miles; only saw two human hikers 10 miles in and a runner at mile 15 and 4 bikers at 20. This is remote, rural, and spectacular! No amenities until Uniondale, where Cable's Deli offers excellent sandwiches, baked goods, and deli items. A caboose and adorandak chairs provide a scenic stopping spot. More food is available in Forest City and Carbindale. But there is no water north of Uniondale, so be prepared! Only gripe is that trail marking signs are somewhat lacking below Lanesboro, and some trial and error was necessary to find the trail where trails and roads merged...but it is easy enough to find. Absolutely a favorite if you like a day of rural running or bike trekking!
