I've only had one issue with the parking enforcement officer, literally writing me a parking ticket while I'm sitting in my own truck in front of my own driveway, but I talked to the chief and he rectified the situation. The DIS is a beautiful community center remodeled from a old grade school…read more The campus is nestled inside of a residential community on the west side of Detroit. The space is filled with nonprofit businesses offering much needed community resources. There is also a gym space, a renovated swimming pool area, which unfortunately no longer houses a pool, but it is now a cool rental space. There's also a convenience store, a Toarmina's Pizza, a community laundry space and a cool arcade inside. I've visited on a number of occasions as the agency I work for has remote offices in the space, offering various resources for the community. It's also a great place to network and meet other Detroiters. The parking lot is sizable and the building is managed by a great company and is secured with guards, inside and out.

I arrived at about 11:45 and was walking out with a new license place in less than 30 minutes. Staff was also friendly and expressed far more empathy for my situation than the Detroit Police had when I reported the theft. I had a similar great experience about 18 months ago when I had an urgent, complex need. There are several other SOS offices in a similar distance for me but this will be go-to office for the future.

I actually choose not to write this review after she officially signed her contract, because I wanted to see how things worked out. Vincent has not stopped being great. He has gone above and beyond several times, included checking in with us to see how we were doing as parents while she was at boot camp.
