Came home to see my dad for his birthday but I was looking pretty ratty. I was going to get my hair cut before flying over, but that didn't happen. So looking for a barber on the Windward side, Eastside came up. Read through the three reviews(?) and decided on Eli. Made the appointment online, and if you're coming from the mainland, make sure you put Hawaiian Standard Time when booking, or it will be the wrong time. After I landed, I drove out on the Pali, and there it was. A very non-pretentious location. Good size parking lot. Went in, Eli acknowledged, and when he was ready, he went to work. Kept it longer on top, short on the sides. Great conversation! They've been open a year and it's great to know there's a great barbershop on this side, since my parents are in Kaneohe. New spot in Kailua, right next to 7Eleven & Volcanoes Vape Shop! Plenty of parking and easy to find the shop. The staff is very welcoming and funny! I had Elijah as my barber & he was really good, he knew exactly what I wanted and did an amazing job! The shop when you walk-in you can tell it's still new. You can't go wrong with anyone here. It's a great environment with the music playing and everyone interacting with each other. Sports on their tv is not a bad thing too. I've I gotten my hair cut twice here so far from two different barbers. Both times I got great quality cuts.

Located in the same parking lot as 7Eleven, Eastside Barbershop is easy to find. Parking can get a little scarce depending on what time you choose to go. They accept walk-ins but prefer you make an appointments. At any given time, there are usually atleast 3 barbers present. Eli is a cool dude. Very down to earth and likes to chat it up with his clients. Ive seen him a few times now. Once, without an appointment, I showed up hoping to get squeezed in. Eli was booked out but he made time for me. That is the type of service that keeps people coming back. The barbers at Eastside Barbershop are very friendly. Out of respect to them, I wont list pricing, since its subject to change at anytime. However, pricing was cheaper than most places last time I went. Took my 6 year old son in for a cut as a walk in. Appointments are preferred but we were able to get a chair right away. Andrew was great! He was super good with my son and gave him a great cut! I'm stoked to have found a new spot for my son and husband. read more

I walked in early on a Monday when only two barbers were working - the shop is usually closed. Wai worked me in with little delay and gave me 'The Whole 9 Yards.' I think I actually got 10 yards because I got a haircut, beard/mustache trim, eyebrow trim, and shave at a very reasonable price. I really enjoyed chatting football with Wai as we watched the NFL draft recap on their big screen monitor. I will certainly be back when we visit Kailua again (which happens fairly often). I have to say that Wai made me look as good as a 75 year old ex-surfer from the mainland can look. Thanks Wai. read more

Worst fade I've had in 2 years. This was the second time I've visited this barbershop and the first time I had a great haircut which ultimately made me a satisfied customer and made me come here again. This time I had a terrible fade which you can EASILY see a dark line going across my head. The barber closest to the TV was the one who cut my hair and still charged me $36 for. Unbelievable that this place has terrible barbers working here making an undeserving amount of money, especially when I previous been here and had a positive experience. I know that if I decide to give this place another shot I will definitely not sit in the same barbers chair. read more
