I needed to demolish the bathroom in a home i am currently remodeling. The toilet, basin, tiled shower, medicine cabinet and flooring had to be taken out. From the beginning, Leo always showed up when he said he would. First, to check the site and provide an estimate. Then second, to perform the demolition. They worked efficiently and finished the job earlier than expected. When I went in to inspect the demolition, I was pleased to see how neatly they did the job. They were careful not to damage the abutting walls and cleanly disconnected the plumbing. This will make it easier when the remodeling takes place. We had a drainage issue from the back of our house with little to no options on how to effectively drain the area without digging down crazy deep. We had an idea on what we could do and got quotes with that in mind. We got several quotes regarding what we wanted to do (basically lots of concrete) prior to Leo coming, but once he did he suggested a better solution than the one my husband and I proposed! Other companies were professional with great quotes, but I like that Leo thought outside of the box and gave a great solution that actually was cheaper and less work. He was very professional with great communication. Things were delayed due to rain outs on another job of his, and the plan changed as we had another contractor come that was originally scheduled after him. It actually changed the scope of work slightly because, we wanted the drainage to work on tandem with new downspouts and where the spouts were placed wasn't where we thought they'd be! Leo was great and flexible, he even explained why the rain gutters guys suggestion wouldn't work with our property, when the worker suggested something else. He also worked around the changed downspout area, which I should've let them know beforehand, but slipped my mind till an hour in. Thankfully, Leo came up with a great idea again and worked around it. His crew was super fast and the job was done within a day. I'd totally recommend them to anyone. read more

Our project was a small tile wall that was damaged by a motor vehicle accident. It wasn't a big job but it was situated in a narrow one way lane at the bend of the road which makes it difficult for large trucks and machinery to get to. Eastside Masonry took the job and did it in one day and it's better than it was prior to needing to be fixed. They cleaned up as if they were never there. Our house is on a steep hill and was having erosion problems under one corner of the foundation and under a cement lanai. After determining that the foundation had not moved or shifted and was still in great shape, we needed concrete to fill the gaps under the slabs. Leo came up with the best solution, of digging down and making a solid cement wall. Leo gave us drawings of what he plan to do and was very informative of the work. Definitely worth the price. Leo is a really DTE good person, honest and open about his bids. My brother is a builder and interviewed each one who came. Out of FIVE he was the ONLY one he took seriously! Even though 'the others' were licensed, he knew from the interview they did NOT know their job well--even though they got 5 star reviews here on Yelp. One guy even hemmed and hawed, changing the price when we balked over and over--almost desperate to get our business!!!!@# But Not Leo with Eastside Masonry and Excavation! He wrote and measured (many never even took measurements), carefully writing things down. He then said he'd do the bid and have it to us via email by== and delivered as promised. Leo ITEMIZED his bid--something NO ONE else did. He explained in DETAIL what each step involved. He worked with my builder to get a great outcome. He was flexible to change as we went with retaining wall design, stairway design and the slope etc of a new sidewalk at the front entry of my home to be sure it drained properly. His crew are hilarious. I work from home and they LAUGHED and teased one another all day while working HARD---making the crew fun to be around. THAT is RARE. They told me they have worked together a long time. That alone speaks volumes for this company. I had sidewalks with drains, entry steps, stairs and another walkway w landing and concrete footings for a deck, as well as major foundation work done. It all went SMOOTHLY and looks great. The concrete pour went w/o a hitch, work was completed in a timely manner and they cleaned up EVERY day. HINDSIGHT here! My only warning to all you gardeners out there is that these are GUYS. Protect your lawn with black plastic or ? to prevent waste from a cement pour speckling the yard. Tie back shrubs. Guys don't know flowers so protect your babies. These guys are awesome but they are not gardeners! That's on ME for forgetting! That said--they did STELLAR work and I'd re-hire in a heartbeat. Honestly, they are GREAT. Not only was the work done professionally, but the results were gorgeous. They thought of innovative ways to tie in the walls to the walks that my builder didn't think of to make everything flow along and please the eye. They reinforced with rebar etc which many others do not use on smaller retaining walls (or tried to tell us it wasn't needed!@@#) so not only does it look good, it is MADE WELL. What more could you ask for here? I'm from a family of trademen and I'm picky. I have no complaints with this company update 2016: There were a few glitches in some of the concrete but Leo sent his guys out to remedy the problem of that drainage went fine after the fix. Eastside Masonry just completed our driveway/parking area (July 2015) with random form concrete sections which were separated by grass strips and stamped and stained to give it moss rock appearance. You cannot tell that it is concrete and it was done beautifully. Leo also had the most competitive bid price wise and fair in our estimation due to detail work involved vs basic concrete slab style projects. His promptness, follow through, attention to detail, highly skilled team (friendly and polite) were top notch in our opinion.
