Here are my praises about hiring Mokoi at every step of the process: --Estimate and Proposal: Owner Viliami Mokoi came to inspect the work to be done, offered his recommendations from his years of experience, and put the specific descriptions of the work to be done in a written proposal (total of 4 proposals), including details I wanted to add, such as locks on the vinyl gates and installing a mailbox in the wall. I tried to obtain estimates from other contractors, but no one else was willing to do all the work such as removing roots and foliage and running underground pipes on all three sides of the house for the drainage system. --Superb Workmanship: I am still admiring the 2-tiered rock walls that are beautiful and solid (see photo). To install the underground drainage system, the crew had to use heavy equipment to excavate the jungle surrounding the house and haul in gravel to cover the pipes. The area is now clear and spacious with a hidden drainage system ready for heavy rain from hurricane and Kona low storms. Manoa rain and worker shortages caused delays in work, but the crew made up time by working hard and fast when they could. During the whole time, Vili texted to me about the progress of the work and promptly answered my questions. I am very pleased with the final products of the built walls and installed drainage system as well the patched concrete wall and leveled sidewalk. --Five Star Clean-Up: The crew hauled out all the piles of debris from the jobs and even swept up. I waited, a day passed, I asked, they said it was coming, and got nothing. A few days passed, still nothing. Then a week and a half passed and still nothing. I even made it easy for them and told them they could just give me an estimate on the message board, still nothing. I finally called after 2 weeks, and asked if they were still interested in doing the job. I was perfectly fine if they turned me down, but they said they would send it that evening. I even re-messaged them my email, and still nothing! If they didn't want the job, they could have just told me and thay would have been the end of it! Totally bad business practice. If they gave you a quote, consider yourself lucky! Update: I added a star because they did eventually give me a quote, but it was too late, I had already found someone to do the job. I wish I could have seen what they could have done.

Speaking with Parris and getting the initial quote was a quick and easy process. Parris and his guys completed the paperwork we needed for HOA approval without issue, and installation happened quickly after our HOA gave us the go ahead. The installation itself was also completed quickly (2-3 days of work if I recall) and the best part other than the quality of the fence was that the way they install the fence posts leaves your yard looking exactly as it was before--no giant holes or dirt piles left behind. A few months ago, we needed a repair due to our landscapers accidentally shooting a rock through a fence panel. Parris was quick to respond and had his guys out there the next day to complete the repair at a reasonable price. They even noticed our gate wasn't shutting properly and made some adjustments on the spot at no additional cost without us asking. Most recently, we installed some pavers that went under our gate and needed some adjustments to be made to the height of the gate so the gate could close over the pavers. Again, Parris and his team were out quickly to make the changes we needed to our gate, and we couldn't be happier! Yes, you can find other companies to install vinyl fencing for less money. That being said, my husband and I would make the same decision over and over again to go with Vinyl Tech & Masonry because of their professionalism and the quality of their work. For the early stages of the project Angel was the primary foreman of the job. Angel was very friendly and respectful. He would give us updates on what they would be doing for the next couple of days, or if they wouldn't be coming due to weather conditions. As a client this was great because we never had to wonder whether the contractors were coming or not. Our Project consisted of removing existing cement pavers and vegetation. And installation of new turf, irrigation system, and vinyl fence. JBL took care of hauling away all the old materials and bringing all the new materials/plants for our project.
