Malakai saved the day for me and I was blown away by the quality. I was worried my post was going to fall apart and NOBODY was getting back to me. Malakai not only fixed the break, he improved it with his own nice design. 10/10

Patio cover

Buyer beware. Unfinished patio cover since September 2023. After a dozen or more calls and texts, he has managed to avoid finishing the roof. He even drove by then said "oh I forgot the materials "... I'll come by and is a "no show". Value... overpriced. Nails were pounded through the walls and sticking out of roof... I had to finish filling holes bought several products to finish what I could but still waiting for roofing completion.

Silicone the fence

NEVER going with this company again! They were quick to take the job and our money and haven't delivered. It's been over 6 weeks! I decided to go with this company to regrout my rock wall and install a fence so my 14 year old dogs could live the remainder of their life running freely in my yard. My boy dog has cancer and may never experience that at the rate this job is going. Kepu (owner) took my first two checks on May 18 (and subsequent checks since). It's now June 30 and the owner has been promising the job will "only take one more day" for two weeks now. At the beginning of the job, we agreed to the scope of work and cost, then the owner said he couldn't do it as agreed upon and needed to build a small rock wall, which cost more. During the work, I had to point out to the workers and owner where a post was crooked, gauges in the fence, grout not filled in, misaligned fencing...to name a few problems. The owner told me "they weren't done and still fixing". That was 3 weeks ago! It appears that the company does not have the proper tooling and equipment. The workers were using a torpedo level on a 4 foot fence! They were also mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow and hand cutting/shaving the fence. Today, they used an silicone substance to fill in the holes in the hard plastic fence. I've had to take many hours off of work to meet with Kepu to point out issues and sometimes he doesn't show up. Apparently he's had medical issues, but can't send any of his other workers. Maybe they thought they could pull a fast one since I'm a female. I would NEVER use them again.

Finishing touches.

Kepu and his crew were really great with their work on our driveway. They were punctual, organized, courteous, and efficient. And Kepu was good about staying in touch by email and text messaging. They finished the work in the scheduled time --one week from start to finish. The work included demolishing an old 800 sf grass-block driveway, carting away the debris, forming, installation of 1/2" rebars, pouring concrete, finishing, and cleaning up. The price was reasonable for the quality of work. We now have a solid driveway that should last a long time. Good job! As people in Japan say, "Otsukaresama" (Thanks for your hard work).

Thank you Kepu for all the hard work you and your guys did to make our dreams a reality!!! Mahalo Nui Loa!!! Good prices and they worked so hard to get it done. We live on a slope so it wasn't an easy job.

Day 5

Kepu is very responsive and provided a very reasonable quote. I will disclaim that I give Nohealani 5 stars due to a very reasonable quote, better than others, though my expectations would've been a lot higher if I were to spend 1.5-2x the cost others were quoting to pour stamped concrete pavers to extend my driveway PLUS pouring slabs in the front yard. See pictures of progress. His team is respectful and punctual, and very hard working. As mentioned with my disclaimer, they lacked the heavy tools and material that could've made the job much much more efficient and less labor intensive. Nevertheless they completed the job (with a lot of extra manual labor, and I lent them some heavy tools) on time and it looks great! The fine details have some discrepancies but again, it was worth well worth the cost. The only dissatisfaction is the colored concrete didn't meet my expectation, but that is not the fault of his team, but rather the concrete company that delivered the concrete which does have a clause that the color is not guaranteed. I saved some $$ by installing the grass myself using the good grass the crew safely removed. I would use Kepu again for certain jobs and recommend him. Mahalo Kepu!!

After a two-week search, I selected Menora Masonry from four bids for my December 2024 retaining wall and drainage project. Suli, the owner, ran the mini excavator and ensured efficient teamwork during excavator operations Sione was pure strength. He did a lot of the excavating and put up new posts and gates. A lot was accomplished because he had a good work ethic and was trustworthy in every way. Younger Sione, Suli's nephew, executed precise bricklaying while others managed cement mixing. He rebuilt the failing wall sections and also a leaning column with great precision. Task on December 11, 2024: To replace the weak sections of my retaining wall that held the terraced front area of my property. Then run 80 feet of perforated PVC pipe underground along it to relieve the pressure of excess water into an adjoining swale easement. In addition, water in my back garden area, weathered by mauka wind and rain, would pool and seep beneath the slab of my house. Menora jackhammered part of the old walkway and created slope for the water to empty into the same swale easement and away from the foundation. They also built a raised cement barrier along the house. Communication: An area of improvement could have been reviewing our understanding of the planned work in intervals. While communication could improve with mid-project checkpoints (especially during garden water mitigation), post-work cleanup with Suli's son, Suli Jr., revealed excellent attention to detail. The January 2025 storm validated their work - both wall stability and drainage performed flawlessly under heavy wind and rain. I had complete peace of mind for my neighbors below that the wall would hold and not cause damage; and that the garden-side rain would not pool towards the house. I truly appreciate the hard work and effort on the part of Menora Masonry and highly recommend them!

She was great with communicating and was a big reason we ended up going with Menora over other contractors. The project included excavation, building a CMU wall, extending a driveway, and building a patio. I really appreciate your efforts and dedication to finishing my family yard. Suli's team were able to complete this large project all before we had family visit during the holidays. It's truly a blessing to know and work with this small family business, especially Maka and his team, they did such an amazing job! You can tell he takes pride in his work. I look forward to working with him in the near future and can't wait to show his talents to friends and family. Thank you so much!

Work was done in less than 2 weeks. It was muddy/dirty as they dug the trench for the drain while trying to avoid the existing sprinkler system in the yard. To complete the job, they repaired a few sprinkler heads and connections that were damaged and power washed sidewalks and driveway. They also saved the grass that was removed digging the trench and replaced them over the completed drain system.
