I even said on my messages that I understand if they were short staffed, but please let me know ASAP if you can or can't accommodate us. The last call I made was around 6 pm on Friday night (July 28, 2022. Someone did answer this time and told me he would check my reservation and call be back within a few minutes and let me know if they had availability. Well, that never happened. What business or establishment, especially restaurants, never return calls to confirm a reservation and leave a message. It's obvious that don't need or want more business. We have never been to Renzo's or The Speak Easy before. And we've lived here for almost 26 years. So we thought we'd enjoy giving this a try. The reviews are really good for this restaurant. But not for me. It's their loss for not responding to a potential gain of atleast a couple of hundred dollars that could have been made if we had gotten a return call. Get it together Renzo's. Hopefully, for your sake this was rare instance that unfortunately you lost out this time. But it only takes one bad review for someone to think twice about visiting your establishment. Took about 15 to 20 minutes for our food to come out the waitress set my wife's fish and chips in front of her. She set my fish sandwich in front of me, and said will there be anything else? I said yes please scratch the soup I ordered, the shocked look on her face said it all, "I'll go get it right now", um NO I wanted an appetizer, not soup and sandwich. 2 of 3 items The fish and chips were as good as they always are, however, the fish sandwich was below par and had a weird Spice in the batter that I didn't care for. I ate half of it and left the rest. my wife was full after eating one of the two pieces of fish so I finished off the other piece. The fries used to be steak cut, they used to be great. Now they went to some weird curly thin cut, which are easily overcooked. In my opinion the spicy pickles and jalapeños were dry and over fried. The bill came to $42, for which I would have left a 18% tip $7.5, divide that by 3 (items) I left $5 tip, 2 out of 3. I don't think we'll be coming back. So sad we used to love this place. They do carry some foreign brands from Germany and England such as: Ayinger, Radler, Delirium Tremens, Bass etc.... They also carry a selection of seltzer's and ciders from all local producers. While I shopped I had a We've Changed from Fonta Flora and a Citraquench 1 from Heist Brewing. Both were great and refreshing. There is a large indoor seating area with benches and tables and it's pet friendly as well.
