Stopped by on a Saturday early evening. Hardly no one there. Had the schwartzbier it was very good. A few more people showed up before we left. Service was good. Small place. Brewery was downstairs but didn't go and look.

If I had reviewed this 2 years ago it would have been 3-4 stars because they were still figuring out their brews and service model. Now... they deserve 5 stars! First to note is that the brewery has multiple places for you to sit and sip, all of which have their own vibe. Of course there's the bar and bar seating area, which is pretty standard. Just off the bar, but still inside, is a short flight of stairs up to a loft area with couches and coffee tables. Tucked away around the back of the bar are a short flight of stairs down to a basement-type area that has darts and patio furniture. Outside the big door from the bar is a huge wood deck with picnic tables on the other side of the railing. So there's a space for however you're feeling today! The beers are pretty tasty, too! And their kitchen is open and ready with some really good pub food. I appreciate that they always have some flavor of dark beer on tap, which is a rare gem in this area that's so focused on IPA's. Pro tip: on Tuesdays, 22oz pours are $6!!!!

The styles here are spot on and the staff is very knowledgeable. Love the porch and the breeze on a June afternoon made this a favorite spot on our trip to HVL.

The kind of place where you stop in for "just one" and suddenly realize the sun has set and you've somehow made three new friends... aka my favorite kind of brewery! I wish we could've stayed for the live music because the stage setup looked awesome, complete with disco balls and plenty of Instagram-worthy areas for pictures and boomerangs (yes, I'm a millennial and I'm sticking with it)! The beers were excellent, and it became clear pretty quickly that this brewery is woven into the fabric of the town. Their brews popped up at several restaurants we visited, and after stopping in, I totally understand why they're so well-loved in the area. The space is huge, with high ceilings and plenty of room to spread out. There's even an outdoor area built out along the sidewalk--probably a COVID addition that was too good to take away. The vibe was laid-back and welcoming. Service at the bar could've been a bit more attentive, but everyone was friendly and chill, so it never bothered us. And my favorite moment? Watching a grandpa-aged regular stroll in with his own paper plate "poor man's charcuterie board." I absolutely loved it. That's the kind of place this is, a spot where regulars feel at home and newcomers instantly want to become regulars! No food that I could tell, but honestly, with great beer, good vibes, live music, disco balls, and Jell-O shots, who needs much else?! If you're brewery hopping around town, make sure this one is on your list. It was our favorite stop, and I'd happily spend an entire afternoon getting lost here. Also, not sure if the Jell-O shots are a staple or not so don't be sad if they aren't there, I didn't asked, just vibed lol

We came on a Tuesday afternoon after hitting a couple breweries in the Mills River area . The area that the taproom in is really beautiful with mature trees and it's a huge facility . We parked and walked inside and headed to the bar. I got a flight and my boyfriend got an IPA. I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves . I would highly highly recommend stopping in!

When I think brewery, I think grabbing a flight, finding a spot, and settling in for a few hours. Instead, this felt more like a restaurant where you order at the counter and sit down. Maybe the outdoor space has more of that laid-back brewery energy, but inside, I found myself wanting to eat and head out rather than camp out for the afternoon. Now let's talk about the important part that stole my heart...THE FOOD. The quesadilla was phenomenal, and to my delight, it was actually two quesadillas. Double the quesadilla, double the fullness! We loaded ours up with bacon, sautéed onions, and their homemade pickled jalapeños, and the combination was perfection. We also ordered the cheese curds, which were huge, perfectly fried, and downright delicious. No marinara was offered, which felt a little odd, but we opted for beer cheese instead. Cheese on cheese? Judge away. I have no regrets and neither should you (JUST DO IT!) Beer-wise, there was a nice selection, and plenty of options for those who aren't craft beer enthusiasts. My boyfriend enjoyed his brews, while I happily sipped on prosecco on tap with ginger added, which was surprisingly refreshing and exactly what I needed. Overall, I'd absolutely come back for the food and a drink or two. Just know that if you're looking for that "day-drinking brewery hang" where you lose track of time, this may not be it. Great place to start the day or grab a meal, but you might want to save the marathon drinking session for your next stop.

I read it three times, not because I misunderstood it, but because I wanted to confirm that it listed pets and children in that order, which it did, and that tells you something about the sequence of problems they've encountered on the lawn, though I've decided not to find out what exactly. With that said, the lawn is not exactly a lawn at all, unless you consider granite rocks as a lawn, which the residents of Elberton, Georgia do as it is considered the "Granite Capital of the World." Elberton this is not. This rocky lawn is to be filled with Bichon Frisés and children in ball caps, and on the afternoon I visited it was doing exactly that. There was a dog near the covered bar area moving through the patio with the serenity of an animal who has never once been told that other people exist. His owner stood nearby holding a beer and looking proud, which is a face I recognized, because I have a son and have stood next to him with that exact expression at least twice in public places where I should have known better. I had the Radiant Positivity, a sour ale at 6%, which sounds like something printed above a middle school guidance counselor's desk but turned out to be genuinely good, all grapefruit and a tartness that knew when to stop. I thought about ordering the Kamp Jam, a 4% light lager described as tasting like shared laughter and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and decided I wasn't there yet. The owners opened this place in 2014 and have expanded it three times since, which tells you something about Greer that it probably already knows about itself but that the rest of the area is still catching up on. Consequentially, Greer itself has also expanded its waistline 3 times since 2014 but that's a discussion for another time. I thought about asking about the Southern Sanctum, an American Tripel, but the afternoon had reached the evening and a point where a Tripel felt like a commitment that deserved more deliberation than I had left in me. I paid my tab, which was reasonable in a way that surprised me given the quality of everything, said goodbye to nobody in particular, and drove home thinking about the Kamp Jam, and whether the unbreakable bonds of friendship were something I'd get to eventually.
