Opened noon, we arrived at 11:55 & there was a line out the door. We tried to put in a reservation, they said they don't take reservations. When we got there, people behind us walked through and told the hostess they had a reservation. When we asked about it, hostess said only a select few people can make them. There were no comfortable chairs inside so, so we sat outside which was nice. Excited about the chargrilled oysters, seasoned well but slightly heated only. They weren't very charred. We ate them and the bread was phenomenal! The wedge caesar salad was fresh, cold and super yummy. The fried chicken breading was super crispy and flavorful. The chicken needed seasoning. The fat on the skin was the thick fat so the skin was not edible so we pulled off the yummy coating. Mashed potatoes amd gravy were amazing. Hot honey was perfect. Still a charming place and lunch is as wonderful as dinner. We shared the crabcakes, an order of fried cauliflower fritters, and that dish was accompanied by a delicious cole slaw ( wish I could replicate the recipe for that!). You have to sit outside when you come here. There are little flower beds with tulips or whatever the seasonal flowers are at the time. The staff is exceptional, the food is always outstanding and cooked perfectly. They have interesting combinations of food and the menu is pretty regular, but they do have specials sometimes. Went for Fried chicken special tonight. When ordering, Server said we could get all white meat chicken dinner (i.e. 2 wings/breast vs. leg, thigh, and breast). Meal came out with 2 legs and a breast. When we addressed with Server, she got flustered and said she would call her Mgr over. Mgr explained no wing substitutions were allowed, and that her server was confused about "wings vs legs". Once Mgr put in the "standard" order, server walked by us numerous times without any acknowledgment. We ate the entire meal and had to flag her down to request to go container and check. After several minutes and more ignoring we flagged Mgr down to obtain our check. Told her food was excellent but Server was giving us "cold shoulder", to which she said "she didn't think so." Bottom line the Server didn't know the parts of a chicken (her craft), blew us off once Mgr got involved, and the Mgr had a "dismissive" attitude over our experience. Bad business model. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this burger grill. The service was incredibly poor from start to finish, and the owner was shockingly rude, which made the whole visit uncomfortable and frustrating. Instead of addressing concerns professionally, the attitude was dismissive and disrespectful. The food was also wildly overpriced for the quality. I paid $30 for a single burger, waited an unreasonable amount of time for it to come out, and when it finally arrived, it was nothing special at all. In fact, I've had better burgers at Sonic for a fraction of the price. The burger was bland and clearly not worth the hype or the cost. Overall, between the long wait, rude owner, bad service, and underwhelming food, this place is absolutely not worth visiting. I won't be returning and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good burger or a pleasant dining experience. read more

This is one of my better restaurant reviews. Walking in the door , the floor was clean with no soap residue. The water glasses were spotless with no signs of food soil around the rims. and the silverware also had no residual food soil nor any "SOAP SPOTS". The napkins had no rancid smell and were clean. In my 40 years of professional restaurant / Hospital sanitation , not many had all these qualities at the same time. The food was excellent. I had short ribs over mashed potatoes with carrots. The wife had a prime rib sandwich. The portion were large enough so we did not leave hungry. Since being introduced to this neighborhood bistro I have returned every week. The community suppers are phenomenal based on the lobster supper I attended. These sell out quickly. Finally got to make it to the spot after a hike at Carl Sandburg. No regrets at all being a sister spot to world class bbq hubba hubba, our expectations were quite high When we got there, they were obviously dealing with severe staff issues and very busy. We had our puppy with us and sat outside. They let us know it would be 15 minutes before anyone to get to us, but they were so accommodating and apologetic that we didn't get served right away. The food (5/5) was delicious , we tried the two hamburgers. One was more plain Jane, the other one had bacon jam , cheddar, and onion rings., both perfectly cooked, both with delicious fries We also ordered smoke wings with housemaid hot sauce. I don't know if it was how they were cooked or the hot sauce itself, but these are more delicious than any I have had at a restaurant locally. I will definitely come back just for the wings. Burgers were 16 and $17. Wings were $11 for six or 18 for 12 I believe. Finally, my wife ordered a lavender vodka cocktail with some lime and simple and I ordered their Mezcal margarita basically. Cool sidenote,, seems like a lot of the herbs and their cocktails are grown out front, the lavender smell was delicious and added a lot to this delicious cocktail. Both cocktails were $13. Desert we found it most appropriate to try the s'mores yummy, seemed like the only choice after being pulled in by the campfire smell coming from the smoker out front just burning wood, nice ambient touch if you're sitting outside. Comically, I believe the theme of the waitress dresses were aprons, colored like graham crackers, brown black dress like chocolate, and a white tie in the back, like marshmallows.. lots of though put into this place We will be back soon Service I really want to go out of my way to say this , I wish I could remember her name was just exceptional. What a cute Gem! It was a busy night ( prime rib night) and we were given the option to hang in the "waiting room" until our table is ready. The menu is mainly American with a local twist. The drinks were strong and tasty. The fish dip is a must try. There was a little bit of a wait for the food to arrive but who cares the atmosphere was perfect. Multiple people kept checking in which was great. The prime rib had a hint of smokiness and was cooked perfectly. We were told that all the meat is smoked in house. We have had great meals at Campfire. I am giving them one star because of their un professional handling of our reservation. I made a reservation last week for dinner Oct. 3 for a special occasion with my wife. Today, 3 hours before our reservation they called and said they were canceling because they reserved a table for us in error. Tonight is their wine tasting dinner, and they are closed to other diners. I explained that my reservation was made a week ago, but she did not care. She told me I can come for diner tomorrow. We will no longer be bringing business to Campfire because of their uncaring cavalier attitude to loyal customers. read more
