The historical snow storm this February was really nasty. Two big trees in my yard got so many broken branches and these even hit a power line then created a power outage. We needed a quick service to clean the trees before PSE workers come to fix the line so I request for estimate on yelp. Derek is great. I gave his company a call and within one day he came by and gave me a quote. Had two other quotes but there were very high and required me get my own permit to have the tree removed. Derek took care of everything. He actually came by the next day and removed the tree. His has the best crew and it took them less than an hour to take down a 30 feet cedar tree and grind the stump. They cleaned up the whole area. It looks great. At this point he is going to be the only person I call when I need a tree removed. I can't say enough good things about his company. My experience was way better than I expected. Derek and his team are hard working. They did several small works (which came up on the work day) for free. They even did some for our neighbor. They were super professional. They brought down two trees without causing any damage. There was a complication but these guys were promptly looking for alternate options (instead of turning away) and made it work. Their field manager Brian was also very helpful, polite and prompt. Needed a couple trees taken down, skirted and some stumps ground. Looked around and Derek was the only one who picked up the phone. The previous tenants only got one tree cut and another topped for $1400, Derek and his team took down 4 trees, skirted 2 more, and ground 2 stumps for $2700. I say that's a good deal especially in comparison. The team was very easy to work with given my busy schedule, very professional and straightforward with everything. Seriously...Not only was Derek absolutely on time with everything we arranged, but he's extremely professional and efficient in every aspect as well. That's VERY hard to find! He and his team were the hardest workers and did impeccable work. They trimmed about 5 very tall trees (35') and did all of the cleanup. I am updating my review, I only realized how badly my lawn was ruined by the heavy lifting machine after a while. They could have done a better job to prevent this....I wish I could have asked them to avoid this but I had no experience at all, so write it here to share my lessons for future customers. Besides, a number of my neighbors also removed trees and they were able to cover the stumps with soil because the people they hired managed to cut it low enough. But the tree stump left in my front yard was too tall to be covered, and I have no chainsaw to fix it, i am not sure why they didnot cut it lower while all other companies could do this...I didnot ask because I did not know how low it should be, but as professional they should have advised me:( But the guys were really nice so leave 4 stars Original review: ------------------------ Wonderful team, extremely professional, considerate and friendly team, yet with an amazing price!!! I would definitively recommend and work with Derek and Eastside Timber again. After reaching out to four different companies, he was the quickest to respond and quickly visited our property to determine the cost of our project. He removed 2 cedar trees that were over 100 feet tall (which had died and were likely to fall in our property soon). We asked him to cut the trunks into rounds and remove the rest of the debris. He did a wonderful job, on the exact day we agreed and sent me pics of the completed work since we were out of town. The rounds left behind were left away from the front of our yard out of site. Brian and Derek did a thorough job, all the way from bidding, permits, removal, stump grinding and cleanup. The trees were within 4 feet of the house and were removed cleanly. There was some roof debris that they could not get to because of liability, however they removed some extra branches at no cost. I had 3 other contractors come to place bids as well and Derek was by far the most friendly, well priced and available. He came twice to evaluate my job, as I was indecisive, and he helped me plan the removal of 7 trees, trimmed at least 5 more and made seats for a fire pit out of the last tree just as a courtesy. They were also the only company that offered to bring out a small backhoe to ensure the hey were able to clear the surface roots.
