Although no doctors were available that evening, Elena immediately helped put my mind at ease and scheduled me as their very first appointment the next morning at 7:30 AM. When I arrived, I was seen within five minutes of walking through the door. To me, that says a lot about how well this office is run. What really makes them stand out, though, isn't just one person--it's the entire team. From Elena and the front desk to Dr. Lee and Liz in the treatment room, everyone I've dealt with has been exceptional. Of course, I have a few favorites now, but this review isn't about one standout employee. It's about a group of people who clearly communicate, work together, and genuinely care about the experience they provide their patients. I'm also impressed with the technology they use. They take the time to figure out exactly what is going on and recommend treatment intended to provide a lasting solution instead of just a quick fix. Unfortunately, a quick fix from the past is part of what eventually led to this molar breaking in the first place, so I especially appreciate that approach. And then there's the cost. My entire visit ended up costing about 70% less than what I was accustomed to paying at my previous dentist. In my personal experience, the team as a whole deserves the praise. It's the way everyone works together--from the moment you walk in until the treatment is finished--that makes the difference. Beware, this place will charge you deductible even tho your plan states that there isn't a deductible. No other dental place charged me before but this place did. When I reviewed what they tried to bill, it included many things to try to make extra money on whatever they can including "hygiene education" which I did not receive or may be it is the part where they tell me to floss? When i called back to request invoice for the treatment they provided they didn't answer. Because I told them I hadn't been to dentist for a few years they tried to do as much as they could to charge the max, ct scan, panoramic scan, photographic scan? A bunch of things and radiation exposure that I really didn't need, I have no cavities! Make sure you get a printed out invoice of what you get done on the day of, and how much you are being charged incase you need to claim your insurance, however because they try to overcharge you and do unnecessary things racking up your total, insurance might not be able to get you back that deductible even tho there isn't supposed to be one . This is an honest review based on my personal experience. Please note that I waited until I received a second opinion + treatment from another dentist to leave this review. I made an appointment with Eastvale Smiles Dentistry for a cracked premolar and a routine scaling/cleaning. This dentist is in-network for my insurance.   They quoted me a little over $1200 for a porcelain crown, and close to $400 for irrigation and a laser for my gums. They said even with insurance, I would need to pay close to $700 for the porcelain crown and over $200 for the recommended gum treatments, because my insurance provides only 50% coverage for the crown. This is simply not true - I have a robust dental insurance that covers 80% for porcelain crown, and 100% for periodontal maintenance and periodontal scaling. I haven't even reached the yearly limit so irrigation and lasers should have all been covered if I really needed them. My husband, who has the same exact dental insurance as me, has received these same periodontal treatments, completely free of charge at a different dentist.    At this point, I already knew I needed a second opinion but still decided to get the routine cleaning done here, since I took time out of my Saturday morning for this appointment. There was some sort of an internal miscommunication on their end and the doctor ended up doing the cleaning instead of the dental hygienist, whom I was originally expecting to see. In summary, this was the most painful and abrupt cleaning I've ever gotten at a dental office. From my past experiences at other dentists, they always took their time to remove buildup as gently but effectively as possible, and it was NEVER painful. My gums stung for several hours after the appointment, which has never happened before.    I went to another dentist in the area, and they recommended that I get a regular filling instead of a crown, since a crown is way more invasive. I ended up getting a filling, which my insurance covered 100%, and I paid $0. Even if I were to get a porcelain crown, they quoted me $160 out of pocket. I understand that different businesses have different rates, but $900 vs. $160 is a pretty steep difference. I agree with the other reviews that the doctor and the staff are friendly but please do your research and have a solid understanding of your insurance coverage before receiving treatment from them. read more

Good quality of care I've been seeing doctor Yen since I was 10 years old she has always been honest with my treatment and procedures over the years in making sure my teeth are taken care of. I'm not sure what the issue is with this dentist. My husband isn't big on getting his teeth cleaned, it has been a while. The last time he went was before a surgery and they required him to do a deep cleaning and then found multiple items "wrong" so he went with their suggestions and it cost him over $1,000. It's been about 2 years since this happened and he went back for a cleaning and they said he is required for ANOTHER deep cleaning for $800+. Doesn't a patient have the right to choose the amount of service he needs. I've been a patient at this dental office since it first opened. I remember when Dr. Amy Chau (the owner) would come to my workplace to personally promote her services and attract new clients. For the first few years, the experience was great. However, over time, the quality of customer service and communication has seriously declined. Every time I schedule an appointment, I always book both my exam and cleaning consecutively. However, when I show up, or when I call a few days prior to confirm my appointment, they never have both appointments listed in their system. Despite having confirmation emails for my appointments, we're never on the same page. To make matters worse, my scheduled times are always moved without any prior notification. They're consistently overbooked, and the wait times are unreasonably long. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with these repeated issues, and it's becoming a pattern I can no longer ignore. Today, I had an issue with another appointment I made in August. I scheduled it well in advance (three months prior to be exact) for Saturday at 1:30pm. Today, I got a call from the manager, Crystal, telling me that the doctor's schedule had changed and my appointment would need to be moved to 10:00am or to the following Saturday. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, she then tried to charge me a $100 deposit to hold my appointment because it was on a Saturday, citing a new policy. She explained that this was to "reserve my spot" because they are having issues with too many patients requesting Saturday appointments and then cancelling without notice. Here's my issue: Don't call me two weeks before my appointment asking for a deposit. You should've informed me of this policy when I made the appointment three months ago. Whether it's a new policy or not, patients who booked before the change should not be penalized. To make matters worse, I requested to speak directly with Dr. Chau and asked to leave a message for her to return my call at her earliest convenience so she could be aware of the ongoing issues I've been facing with her office staff. Instead of simply taking my message, Crystal had the audacity to ask if it was about the deposit. She then told me she'd deliver my message to Dr. Chau herself (which I honestly don't trust her to do) or suggested I leave a note through the "My Chart" portal--which most know that Dr. Chau likely doesn't personally read those messages and relies on her staff to handle them. This is not just unprofessional but also completely dismissive of my concerns. The dentists Dr Yen, and Dr. Mina are very friendly, and provide great care to patients. They have a gentle touch and make patients feel comfortable. The office staff is not so great with patients. I called to confirm the appointments for my for children, which were scheduled in August and September of last year. The office informed me that unfortunately they would have to reschedule two of my children's appointments for different days, as their office policy did not allow more than two family members to be seen in one day. I confirmed that I would be available that day, as I had it off and would be able to take all of them even at different times. They were firm with their office policy that they would not be able to accommodate more than two family members in one day. This is our fourth family dentist (after multiple moves through California) and I have never run into that issue with any office. I am not sure if this is a new policy, but the office did schedule the appointments for my children, I did not schedule them on their online portal. First and foremost, I'd like to say that I don't have any complaints with any doctors in this clinic. All the doctors I've met were really nice and accommodating. It's actually their front desk personnel that I find upleasing and rude. I needed to have a new crown and I requested if they could submit pre-authorization to my insurance prior to me scheduling the procedure to see how much my insurance would cover. They did send it and received a response that it was denied and that I have to pay eveything. I am with United Concordia (military) and when I called to find out why I was denied of my 50% copay, the insurance told me that there were unncessary documents specifically the explanation of benefits back in 2022 that this clinic sent over and there was no narrative about the Xrays, etc. and so was the reason why it got denied. The insurance advised me and their receptionist (Janice) on 3-way call to resubmit the specific docs. The insurance provided a list of what to resubmit and their receptionist jot down notes. I called to follow up the next day and the person named Alina who was the manager in this clinic sounded unhelpful and rude. She specifically said that she will resubmit it but couldn't see if there was a narrative because the attachment was not loading, then I said in a worried tone that if she could make sure that there is really a narrative b/c that was the specific document that's missing according to the insurance. The next thing I heard was she sounded rude speaking so highly of herself saying "I know how to do my job" after I requested to please make sure that it is really there attached if she resubmits it. It was not only one but a couple more employees of this clinic that seemed unaccommodating when I was dealing with my case calling back and forth hoping for them to help you as a patient instead of sounding lazy and not wanting to do anything to help you. They forget the basic role of their job which is to provide "good customer service and be empathetic." They are unhelpful with unpleasing personalities who didn't want to do their job which made me decide right then that it's time for me to find other dental clinic. read more

Every visit I always confirm with clinic if they are in network and if the type of crown is within my insurance coverage since I have been dropping at least 1k per visit. My most recent visit I was told that if I "donate" $100 to their Arizona clinic charity I get $30 dollars off. The audacity... And there I was sitting on that dental chair thinking.. This morning I received an email stating that I will be receiving a refund to a card that is not mine. When I called the main office to share my concerns I was told that it was the card I used that day but when I asked for them to confirm the card attached to my account (as I am concerned they mixed up someone else's credit card with my account) they shared they don't keep cards on record and the money should be returned through check. At this point I'm even more concerned about the safety of my information. I expressed my concerns about this and shared that I want to make sure the correct person receives this money & they said the money has already been sent out so if it kicks back they can send a check. I scheduled an appointment as a new patient to get my teeth cleaned. I'm fortunate to have dental insurance which fully covers this. I had read good reviews about this office and was looking forward to establishing care with a dentist in my area instead of driving all the way to Newport to see my old dentist. The front office staff was professional and they took me back in a timely manner, however that's when the "upsell" started. Sixty minutes later I was presented with a quote for almost $3,000.00 for laser gum treatments and other dental work that I did not need. They have a modern office with very expensive equipment as well as an extremely expensive EMR system (EPIC). With these expenses as well as the very competitive and saturated General Dentistry field, I can see why they would try to upsell their patients. However, all I needed was a simple prophylactic dental cleaning. I left the office very disappointed. I typically do not leave any reviews on Yelp, but felt the need to leave one. I finally found a good dentist practice to go to, where I feel comfortable. Dr. Amy was wonderful and offered to deep clean my Invisalign retainers (that I had received from somewhere else long ago), which had some build up over the years. It looked way better when she returned it back to me! Thank you Dr. Amy. Cherise, the hygienist, was FABULOUS!!!! She was gentle and was very nice. It's been a while now, since I actually found a hygienist, where I did not fear getting my teeth cleaned. She was patient and kind through the whole process. Beware of fraud and unethical charges on your insurance bill. This office bills your insurance with a multitude of line items that are unspecific treatments which falls onto the patient to pay out of pocket. When asked about the unspecific treatments the front desk has no clue what was performed. Billing and reconciliation is a mess. I went in for a second appointment when I had money left from my benefits but was told that I have already exhausted all of them from the first visit. I even showed and verified with insurance on the phone and through the app but they told me to pay upfront and if insurance approves they'll reimburse me. After a few months when the billing was settled, I looked into my account and noticed that I had left over benefits still and was handed a $50 bill for an unpaid annual deductible?!? I even got calls from their office threatening me to send the $50 owed to collections when it was my first time seeing the bill. I called the dentist office and the person I spoke with in the phone was giving me such a hard time, so I called and verified with my insurance, online, and through the app..EVENTUALLY they said screw it and told me they'll just write it off. There's some real issues with their billing department and issuing claims that I think are unethical and fraudulent. I would look elsewhere to get any dental procedures performed. When I arrived early for my teeth cleaning appointment, I waited patiently for the two busy staff members to finish their phone calls. After around five minutes, I approached one of the staff members, a lady wearing glasses seated on the left, to inquire about the pricing for different cleaning services. I explained that I was paying out of pocket and needed to know the costs upfront. The conversation quickly became frustrating. When I asked for a price range for basic versus deep cleaning, the response was dismissive: "I don't know the cost until you do the X-ray." Confused, I reiterated my request for an estimated cost, emphasizing that I understood prices could vary but needed some figures to consider before proceeding. The staff member's patience seemed to thin rapidly as she repeated, "I don't know, based on your X-ray result." Persisting, I explained again that I was merely seeking an estimate, especially since I had no dental insurance and everything was out-of-pocket. Her reply was curt and unhelpful, indicating that without an X-ray, which costs $50, they couldn't proceed or provide any service prices without doing the x-ray first. And she informed me that the clinic would still charge me $50 for the X-ray even if I decided not to proceed with the cleaning service. When I pressed further for at least a rough estimate, she became visibly annoyed and said, "Well, I'm not a doctor, I don't know what service you need, but sometimes it will cost about $1000 if you can afford it." This interaction left me extremely disappointed. I was not demanding exact figures, just a basic understanding of potential costs. Her attitude and unwillingness to provide any form of guidance were not only unprofessional but also entirely unhelpful. I ended up canceling my appointment and walking out, yet I doubt she processed the cancellation as I later received a reminder text for the appointment. This experience was disheartening. I believe as a customer, especially one without dental insurance, I deserve to know the estimated costs of services. I have elected for extractions in the past from my old dentist and not once did I have to agree to a bone graft before the procedures were done. They take advantage of your pain to boost their profits! Do yourself a favor and do not use this dentist unless you want your wallet to be in as much pain as your tooth. I read the bad reviews and chose to ignore since my insurance covered this location. Everybody that works in this office is a scammer. From the hygienist, the dentist, to the scheduler. I went in for a cavity and wanted my tooth pulled and the dentist argued with me for about 10 minutes that I shouldn't. As if she was the one going to cover the bill. I had a disappointing experience with the front desk staff. When I arrived at the office, I waited almost 10 minutes while one front desk staff finished a phone call. Afterward, she informed me that I needed to come back another time because the doctor would not be able to see me. Additionally, she mentioned that the office does not open on Saturdays, which contradicts the information on the website. I remained polite throughout the interaction, but I felt that my time and experience as a patient were not respected. I believe this situation needs to be addressed for better customer service. I am an honest person. I arrived 12 minutes late due to work and traffic. Vanessa said there is a 10-minute grace period, but I checked their website, and there is no policy stating that 10 minutes is the grace period. Had a Cerec crown put in for a molar at this office. The crown was pretty expensive but they advised that the Cerec crown was more durable and safer because it doesn't contain any metals. Shortly after they put in the crown, it came off. It was painful and definitely a hassle but they did replace the crown for me at that time. However, within 4 years, the crown cracked in half. I called the office to see if there is anything they could do for me and they advised me that because I switched dental offices after the crown, there was nothing they could do. Similar issue happened to my wife as well, who had dental work there around the same time as myself, which also fell off.
