Please beware!! I will never step into this clinic AGAIN! I have been a long time client here and taking several animals through the years. BUT, the last 5-6 years have been questionable on the care my animals have received. Have even debated on finding another Veterinary Clinic AND NOW I WILL!. MY 6 MONTH OLD ENGLISH BULLDOG WILL HAVE PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CARE AND COMMUNICATION WE RECEIVED THERE. Long story short, I left messages on a failed surgery that was performed there and never received a follow up call until after I was at an emergency vet in Cornell fighting to try and save his eye. Thankfully they saved his eye after a 4 hour surgery but he will have permanent eye damage and sight loss at 6 MONTHS OLD. I've never had a bad experience. Prices are way more affordable than those in Monroe county. Mom & I have been going here with our animals for 5+ years & never one issue. The same people blaming the vets are the same people that will blame the hospital for your loved one's issues & malpractice. Reviewer beware on them. read more

I came here at the recommendation of a friend and fellow Yelper. She is from the area and had taken her dogs here for a dental extraction similar to what I was in need of. The reason I was looking for an alternative to my primary veterinarian was their intial quote was over $1,000.00 and although I love my pooch that is a lot out of my wallet. I was able to email them for the a quote and already received good news when they quoted less than my primary vet, scheduling and communication was easy enough as well all done through email and one final call the day before the appointment. They were able to get a rabies certificate from my vet without my intervention. The extraction took longer than I had expected. My pug could not eat after 8pm the night before and combined with the 2hr drive there we were both at wits end. Once dropped off he was left there for the whole day, when I called for a midday question he hadn't been taken in yet, when I called later for an estimated pickup time after spending a full day in downtown Penn Yan I was ready to go (!), he still wasnt back. In the end however he was ready to go home less the 15 teeth taken. They, the staff seemed a bit rushed by me however they close at 7pm, he was ready to go at 6:30pm and I live 2hrs from their office so after spending a full day in a small town and a two hour drive ahead of me I was ready to go too. Overall it was a good experience, he had the extraction on a Thurs and by Sat he was fully back to normal. A week later he acts like nothing happen. In the end I saved over $500 compared to our regular vet including the antibiotics and calcium supplements they sent us home with and they called a few days after to check in on him. My number one recommendation is to check around for prices before jumping into treatment for your vet. Who knows you may just end up in a small town discovering a few things. read more

The groomer I bought dog from went there & I , continued. She was spade there no problem. They r the best Vet Hospital I have gone. I have small dog, dropped my blood pressure pill on floor she ran ate it at 8 weeks ks old & knew it could kill her. Called them right away told me what to give.. All the vets that I have gone to arenot open after hrs to answer ur question. Also got in my purse, pocket on side, pulled it down & ate half a Hershey bar. I called as I know how serious it is cause only weights 6 lbs, told me to give the perioxide & like last time throws it up in 5 mins. That was at 9 at nite that it happened. BUYER BEWARE!!! Hopefully this helps someone...if your beloved companion requires any major care or surgury I would highly recommend from personal experience on 2 separate occasions that you go elsewhere. Approx 4 years ago I would have recommend them, im not sure why the decline in care but each time we bring one of our pets there is alot of new faces working....1.5years ago they charged us to basically misdiagnose a fracture in our young dogs leg. Sent us to Cornell to pay triple only to find out a simple cast was all that was required (no biggie, I understood the excuse of using an old xray machine). A broken leg is not life threatening so we gave them the benefit of the doubt....Yesterday they almost killed our Female new mama. They performed a c-section recommend that we do a hysterectomy at the same time. "Its cheaper for you and easier for me" is what was told to us. Great!! Just 3 hours later shes ready to be picked up, seemed a little soon to us and she didnt look so hot but we were told shes still recovering from the sedation and the surgury and we didnt really have any past experience with c-sections and hysterectomies so we took there word for it. Well instead of improving as time went on she became more lethargic and her gums were white as Christmas. Called Eastview, they said to bring her in for another urgent care afterhours visit so they can do a blood count..."possibly too much blood loss". "But if she does need a transfusion, we dont have the blood". Then why the heck would I waste my time if you cant do what's necessary. Off to Cornell we go to save our dogs life! Buyer BeWARE... Approximately 4 years ago, I too would have recommended Eastview. We have been their patient for no less than 14 years...We have always had a myriad of pets, several dogs (8), several cats (4) and we have taken dogs, cats and a duck to them for care. We have had surgery, new litters, deaths (so many deaths), recoveries, (so few), medicines, treatments, expensive flea and worm treatments, cancer surgeries... etc. Always, before that 4 year mark, we were required to authorize treatment. We were called and apprised of the status of our sick animal. We were offered treatment solutions and the cost of said treatments and our approval was solicited. Then...what happened? Dr. Farenstock (sp) took on a partner or retired? Covid? People left / people came. Familiar faces, new faces and the prices doubled / tripled in some cases. They told me the kind thing to do was to put my Maltese down. I brought him home after $800 and healed him myself with canned milk and boiled chicken and lots of tummy rubbing. We had him 8 more years - to (16 or 18 years old). They told me Jack would die... he had a tumor on the outside of his foot. I took him elsewhere and he lived another 5 years... I know vet medicine isn't an exact science...(lol) and it is a lot of guess work because the patient can't exactly tell you their symptoms but this happened to ME and I CAN tell you about it. I took a "yellow" cat to Eastview. The doctor came out to tell me that a yellow cat rarely survives. It is yellow due to liver damage (yellow tint inside of ears). I said - his sister had died last week after a rapid decline. This cat obviously has the same thing and I didn't want it dying in front of my 4 grand children so would she please run a blood test and give him an IV and let me know. A week went by. I spoke to techs when I called and no one called me. The weekend went by... I called but received no input. Finally, on Monday, someone called me and told me the cat was no better but no worse, the bill was extreme (prepare yourself) and then I should come pick him up. I was IRRATE! $1300 for a cat???? $1300 for an IV and a blood test? I hadn't authorized those expenses! No one had called to explain anything - they just kept pumping money into a cat they practically promised me would die. I brought his carcass home. He was skin and bone. We babied him for a week - he held is own - he finally started eating table scraps and eventually - made a full recovery. However - it was NOT expected by Eastview. She told me several times he would not make it - yet she pumped $1300 into him by way of "tech care", IV's, lab tests, etc. day after day. I authorize ONE IV and a blood test. Every day I called no one said they were doing more tests, they were giving him antibiotics, etc. Anyway - I paid the entire bill. I told the doctor that the cat had made a full recovery and while I sincerely questioned their billing practices, I did want them to know their medicine healed the cat. That was more of public service than applause because she had told me she doubted he would live. Then, today... I called them to put down our 11 year old, cancer ridden, beautiful GSD, and his sister who also has cancer. Her's isn't as advanced but we thought they should go together because they have always been together. Eastview told me that because I had put something on public media they would no longer treat any of our animals. IN ESSENCE - BLACKMAIL. They can do wrong, they can not advise us of costs and treatments, bill us whatever they decide, answer to no one, and if we dare complain - stop treating our pets when no one else is accepting new patients and our dogs are literally wasting away? I am not sure what I put on "public media" but I will be putting this on my facebook page and urging everyone to print out the DOH guidelines to Veterinary care where it clearly says - they are to communicate costs with you and ask for your approval before they slam you with a huge bill. I am 64 - raising 4 grand children. I could not afford a $1300 vet bill for a cat - nor would I have done so had I been given the choice. She knew I was not willing to spend a lot to save him because I told her -" I owe him a blood test and an IV at least - if that would help him"..she knew. When I asked her to shave off a little from the bill - like tech care or something that wasn't an "out of pocket" expense to them like medicine or something to "help us out" she refused to even discuss it with me and told me the billing was fair. Well, maybe the costs were actual - but it was fair and it wasn't according to NYS guidelines. I will now be writing to NYS agencies who oversee VET care... and I urge everyone to visit any other vet clinic that the Taj Mahal called Eastview! read more

Please BEWARE of taking your animals to this clinic. We went there on 1 recommendation but several warnings. We had faith and took a chance due to its proximity. This year our youngest dog has had health challenges. For example, after her spay, we were told she was fine and did not need pain meds or prophylactic antibiotics. Within 3 days she developed a respiratory infection that spread to our other 2 dogs. When we called, we were told that it is a common occurrence and that she should have been treated (a vet tech told us this in the practice). We had to pay for all 3 dogs to be treated and several weeks of recovery. This week we encountered another problem when in the middle of treating our dog, the vet told us she refuses to see her any further stating "there was a violation of trust" because we were scared and confused and wanted a second opinion and find another vet to look at her. We followed her directions and called the office 2 days later- could not get through on the phone, emailed with no response, and no one even called to see how she was doing. She claimed she did everything she could, yet did not do any other diagnostics except xray. I asked "What did the labs show" She said " I didn't do any, do you want me to?" I told her she was the vet and needed to make that decision, so she didn't do it- instead told me "dogs get sick and dogs die everyday, we move on" REALLY? That is what you tell a concerned parent? She refused to see her patient? Imagine a doctor telling you that with a loved one. If nothing else, take note that there are many vets rotating through there and developing any relationship is difficult. You are just a number. read more

Once again these guys hit a home run! Our boxer woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday with hives all over and itching terribly. The vets took our late night call and encouraged us to come on down. They were patient and kind with her (she can be a handful!) and got her feeling (and looking) better within a few days. We were overcharged for services that did not meet our needs or requests. We repeatedly explained our dog's medical history and the fact that we did not want want to simply administer more antibiotics because that was not helping our dog's condition. These requests were not taken into account nor were our desires for further testing or a new plan. We requested to see a different Veterinarian when we were not pleased with our first visit and were set up with a doctor that did not know what services the clinic offered nor where she could refer us because it was her first day on the job (not her fault but very poor clinic management). We explained in great detail (several times!) that we wanted to pay for the meds our dog was prescribed and for all services rendered before leaving the clinic. After being told this was understood and paying we received an invoice for twice the amount that we had already paid in the clinic. When calling to address this matter we were treated very poorly and made to talk to four different people- the final of whom berated us and belittled our point of view instead of apologizing for the gross lack of professionalism or asking how they could remedy the situation or prevent it in the future. I'm not usually one for critical reviews but feel this was necessary and sadly, very justified. We are happy to report that we found another local doctor who was able to test/diagnose and treat our dog in one visit for less money than even one of our 3 unsuccessful visits to Eastview clinic provided. Their premises are spotless clean, the personnel behind the counter is friendly. The veterinary doctors are personable and great professionals. We were new to the area and unfortunately had to try several other vet offices in the area before we were finally recommended Eastview... I only wish we had started there. My cat would probably not have made it regardless... but at Eastview Veterinary Clinic, you are never pressured into procedures that you are not comfortable with, they practice some of the best pricing I have ever seen in this discipline and the team of vets is outstanding. Dr Dodds and Miller who took care of our cat were asbolutely phenomenal in dealing with our very sick cat and us as distressed owners. I do not have one negative thing to say about the place, the team or the quality of care. Just got back from Eastview Veterinary Clinic. We have a summer place in Branchport, about 12 miles from Eastview. This weekend we are up to party and winterize our camp, the last weekend on Keuka. We noticed our miniature Poodle Willie was noticeably tender around the head and mouth, not able to eat his favorite treat Greenies, or mouth his favorite tennis ball. We called Eastview, and although booked, squeezed in an appointment. We too found their premises spotless clean and the personnel behind the counter super friendly. The veterinary doctor was great, finding the issue and counseling us on the procedure, recovery tasks and the cost. I highly recommend Eastview and wish they were a lot closer to our home in Downingtown PA. THANKS EASTVIEW!! read more

Eastview has gone downhill. My last experience there was horrible, and the way I was treated after was worse. I went in on 2-19-18, my dog was having accidents and losing weight. We tried to get a urine sample, however she didn't like that. When Dr Davidson came into the room her 1st comment was, oh look at her poor ears, but that's ok. Yes, my dog has cropped ears, she came that way, and its really not the Drs opinion I was there for. I don't like to make scenes and had my son with me so I let it go. She then told me she believes my dog has a UTI, so she I go ahead and get the meds, I ask more questions as I am concerned with a 7lb weight loss, and she is eating fine. So, the Dr says we can run blood work, and after thinking I decide to do that. NOT once did the DR check my dog physically!!! NO, temp check, NO heart rate check, NO feeling of her stomach, NOTHING!!! We wait blood work comes back normal, I get medication. No instructions on anything, I have to ask and again wait for answers. I then take the online survey where I shared my experience. Dr Davidson calls me, and I was busy and felt I needed to talk with someone above her. Well, sadly I got one of the owners, Dr Williams... She lacks people skills and any kind of compassion. Rite away she s telling me she is sure my dog was looked over behind the scenes, which I feel is BS as I have been going here for over 20yrs and my dog has always been looked over in the office with me present. I tell her I want a refund of the office call, $49 to be exact. Well, I was told NO, I was wrong and her Dr did all they could for my dog.. she was rude and condescending. I as a long time customer was treated poorly, one that has never complained was told I would not receive a refund, no compromise nothing. It was never considered the Dr was wrong, and I never received an apology for the rude comments about my dogs ears. My 14yr old learned a lesson that day, that people can be jerks, even when they are supposed to be professionals. So, over a small amount, they lost a 20yr plus client.... Sometimes, the customer is rite... I wasn't asking for my $241 back from the while visit, but the office fee... I know my dog wasn't looked over, she judged my dog the moment she came in the room...
