Massive park with free entry, Eastwood includes access to the various biking trails, a kayak boat launch for Eastwood Lake and the Mad River, playgrounds, picnic tables and some covered picnic areas. Fishing is available (you must have a permit), boating access and wooded trails for walking, hiking, biking and running. I was amazed at the size of this terrific park. Beautiful. Stopped by Eastwood lake and Eastwood metropark to walk around and take pics ... heard there was a owl and some unusual ducks. The ducks were gone weeks ago but the owl was there. beautiful day to enjoy nature 70 degrees and blue sky. walked around the river and few trails by the water.

This is an absolutely gorgeous Metropark! It is huge and free to enter! I came here solely for the Wagner Subuaru Outdoor Experience (festival) but I would definitely come back to enjoy the park another time! This is one of many events held here throughout the year. Beyond events there are so many different areas for everyday use. There is the lake, the river, and the lagoon for kayaking (see website for details about other boats allowed). There are various paved trails for running or biking that actually extend to outside the park and connect you to other areas. There are several hiking trails as well including one that takes you through the grasslands which are essentially a nature preserve. You can fish here as long as you have a license. Of course dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed and you pick up after them. Maybe even bring a picnic lunch or dinner, but get outside!

I have had the chance to visit this park only once but I am pretty sure that I will be back frequently in the future. Even during my short walk, I can see that there will be lots to keep me busy. The walk/jog/cycling trails are great to explore inside the park, but of course they extend beyond its immediate borders to other parks and parts of town. And then there is the river for boating and the lagoon area for calmer water exploration. Plus the wildlife. Come check it out, people! Enjoy your local parks and take good care of them. One thing I really don't understand is why a park like this would not open until 0800. Sometimes the next time to enjoy these things is early in the morning, especially for those of us with "normal" work days.

Black eyed Susan's and other wild plants along walking path. A lot of scenery to take photos for painting references.
