Eataly's Eaton centre location is great! I don't always make my way to Yorkville (their original location) so it's great to get a bit of Italy strolling through the mall. I checked their one and only restaurant, La Pasta and La Pizza upstairs so if you're looking to try more restaurants, Yorkville may be the better bet. The bar area outside the restaurant also serves the same menu as the restaurant. Service and food is great and moderately priced. The bakery counter is probably the main highlight for me. I love casually strolling in to grab a cannoli through the mall. Always so good! Their gelato is also amazing from my experience at the other location. Highly recommend the coffee flavour. Theirs also produce and Italian imports too. The fresh produce always looks so pristine though I don't see myself shopping for groceries when I'm at the Eaton Centre. read more

"Great Atmosphere, Forgettable Pizza" Stopped here for a work lunch and the ambiance was probably the strongest part of the experience. The restaurant felt clean, professional, and comfortable, a solid setting for a business lunch or meeting with coworkers. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. That said, the food itself was pretty average, especially for the price point. We ordered two pizzas to split among three people and it ended up being more than enough food, with leftovers to take home. For lunch, one pizza could easily feed two people. The crust was actually very good; light, crisp, and flavorful, but the sauce, cheese, and toppings all felt underwhelming and lacked the flavor you'd expect from a quality pizza spot. One thing that also stood out was the drink selection. For a lunch crowd, it was odd that the options were basically water, alcohol, or bottled Coke with very few alternatives in between. I had just moved to Toronto, and thought I was going to the main Eataly location but realized that I had gone to tiny outpost at the wrong mall by mistake, lol. I had a very small and expensive beet salad that was also very excellent, so at least I was happy. The salad made me forget the blustery cold weather outside that day! I stopped by to have an early dinner here a week after they opened. There's a blend of experienced and training staff, you can see that everyone is attentive and actively sharing knowledge. If you happen to stop by in the near future, don't expect any specials... yet. Much of the staff is new, so it makes sense to have the team focus their attention on perfecting their baseline. Dinner was lovely! We got an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef- I don't expect these to be the same for every visit. The patatas frittas were perfectly crispy and seasoned, and ravioli was delicious, a lovely dish for the fall. There's also lots of seating, and ordering is pretty efficient since you place your order quickly at the front and then grab a table. We went with the funghi pizza and the prosciutto pizza. Both came square-cut, which is a nice change, and the crust was very airy and light. The mushrooms were flavourful and well-balanced. What really made both pizzas stand out though was the cheese -- rich, melty, and clearly high quality, which tied everything together nicely. Overpriced, overhyped, disappointing food/drinks and poor customer service seems to be the common theme in all four Eataly locations in Canada. This specific location in the Eaton Centre is half the size compared to the Manulife Centre location. It's always super busy and overcrowded that you can't even find a chair to sit in the Il Gran Caffe. The grocery section offers various selection of Italian traditional and artisanal products but carry a premium price tag. The food in their restaurant is not worth it - overpriced, small portions and just 'meh'. You're better off going to one of many local Italian spots in Toronto. Service was also abysmal. Went to pay for my purchases and said hello to cashier and they don't even acknowledge you. For a chain company this big, you would expect to receive a decent and satisfying level of customer service. Definitely not worth visiting this store in the near future. read more

This newest location of Eataly at Eaton Centre is a lot smaller than the flagship location in the Bloor-Yorkville area. It caters mainly to people who want a quick snack or grab-and-go meal. There are a few tables available but they're always full. There are the same pizza and desserts sections as in the other Eataly locations (just smaller), a fridge for cold sandwiches and salads, and a fridge for drinks. The sandwiches and salads do not look much different than the ones you'd find in other supermarket chains, but with much higher price points. If you're looking for the full Eataly experience, it's better to just take a few extra subway stops north or walk to the bigger location near Yonge & Bloor. read more

Great addition to Eaton Centre - smaller than Bloor, but still worth the visit I recently visited the new Eataly location and overall had a really good experience. It's definitely a bit smaller than the Bloor Street location, but honestly, it still has pretty much everything you'd expect from Eataly, just in a more compact layout. All the classics are there -- fresh pasta, pizza, bakery items, Italian groceries, coffee, and desserts. The selection feels well curated rather than limited, which actually makes it easier to walk around without feeling overwhelmed. It's also very convenient if you're already shopping at Eaton Centre and want a good food stop without leaving the area. One nice surprise was that inside Simons, there's an AI piano playing live holiday music, which adds a really unique and festive vibe to the whole experience. It's not something you expect to see while shopping, but it genuinely feels like a little bonus attraction. Even if you're just passing through, I'd recommend stopping for a moment to watch and listen -- it's definitely a cool and memorable touch. In a moment of questionable judgment I visited Eataly during opening week -- crowds of looky‑loos everywhere, but credit where due the staff was very efficient and kept the line moving. Decor was exactly what I'd seen at other locations -- stylish and on point. The prepared‑foods section looked promising (fresh salads, sandwiches, etc.), but I queued for a slice of prosciutto pizza. Sadly, it was a miss as the slice arrived cold, the crust was tougher than expected, and the flavor was underwhelming so I didn't finish it. Might be opening‑week teething problems, so I'm hopeful, but I wouldn't order the pizza again right away. Next visit I'll probably play it safe and go for pasta. read more

I checked out the new Eataly in the Eaton center yesterday. It's a two level location. There is an escalator right within the premises that takes you up and down to the second floor. Entrance is right by the center of the mall right off the west side of Yonge at ground level. Quite a hopping location too. Has two restaurants. As one expects it also has a fair number of other kinds of counters for cheeses and meats, refrigerated foods, prepared meals and baked goods as well as fruits and vegetables. Also all your usual Italian favorites like pasta, both fresh and dried imported from Italy, sauces and all kinds of other things you would want to make a great Italian meal. Since it's close to the holiday there are lots of panettone as well for every price point. You can also find a nice selection of Italian wines and chocolates. The location at Bloor is still more comprehensive but this is definitely a great outpost right at Yonge and Dundas. Best way to get there is by TTC since the TMU subway stop is right there. Take an opportunity and check out this new location. read more

Brand new Eataly location! I got excited and forgot to take pictures of the food area LOL The inside entrance is right next to Simons, so close to the Dundas corner. The ground floor is the dessert/hot food section, while upstairs is the restaurant and fresh market place. This location is smaller than the Yorkville location, but bigger than Don Mills. There were lots of people lining up for pizza and pastries. It's definitely a good place to grab lunch and some caffeine. Too bad they open at 11am or else it would definitely be a good morning caffeine location. I didn't buy anything, but staff seemed nice so I believe service should be the same as other locations. read more

They have 2 floors, with the first floor serving as a quick service food counter and the 2nd floor has a spacious full service restaurant, bar, and a market space filled with treats, produce, and specialty items. This Eataly location has just recently opened. I like their bakery items. It has nice ambiance inside and so many options. It is great for groups as well since anyone can pick their choice. Their bakeries are made with organic wheat flour which gives me a peace in mind. If you are around the area check it out. read more

Went to the sit down restaurant upstairs and had calamari, lasagna and tagliatelle bolognese. The calamari was melt in your mouth soft and pillowy, and the included matchstick fries and zucchini were perfectly salted. The included lemon aioli brightened everything up. The tagliatelle bolognese was seasoned almost perfectly. In comparison, the lasagna was salty, even though it was also made with the bolognese sauce. Ambiance was open, but cozy. We were sat by the window overlooking Yonge St, which gave us a good view of the falling snow and street below. Service wise, it's well intentioned, but inexperienced. The hostess took our number, but never texted us or checked to see if there were any tables in the area she eventually seated us in. Our waiter absentmindedly took our appetizer plates even after I asked if we'd need them for the calamari appetizer we ordered. A little FOH organizational improvement is needed to smooth out the customer experience. read more

Underwhelming. After having some delightful treats at the bakery downstairs, I was excited and hopeful the restaurant would be as good or better. It was a let down. The pasta was decent, but I had excellent pasta elsewhere the night before and Eataly wasn't in the same league. Side story - I mentioned it was my birthday (it actually was) to the hostess. When it came time for dessert and the server hadn't mentioned anything the whole night I said it was my birthday, he said dryly "I know." This is the newest location for Eataly in Ontario. Just having opened Nov. 25 this is already a busy location for a quick bite (main floor), sit down dining (upper floor) which is massive, and specialty groceries (upper floor). This location is about 25,000 sqft about the same size as the Sherway Gardens location, smaller than the Yorkville location (which remains the largest at 50,000 sqft). The ground floor of this location has a street entrance and holds the cafe and hot food sections for quick bites. Upstairs has the sit down restaurants with a view into the Eaton Centre. The grocery section is quite small and cramped. There is no "classroom/workshop" area that can be observed... The selection of goods is similar to the smaller locations, though there is a bias towards alcohol, gifts, and ready to go items. Great place to dine and shop and now that Simons and Uniqlo's renovations are done as well, the mall access is much easier to go between the north and south parts of the building. read more

I bought an expensive chocolate "mousse" that turned out not to be mousse at all, but a very dense, stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth frosting that you would spread thinly on a cake. I usually go to the Bloor one and decided to try the Eaton center location for my first time yesterday. I was there to have something to eat before going about my night. John the bartender was so welcoming and helpful as were all the rest of the staff. I even met a nice person named who's come all the way from NYC to oversee the new opening. The food I had was top quality as always at Eataly locations. Though if I could change anything it would be to have more items added to the bar menu. Everything on the menu was good but all pretty much starchy appetizers, I was really hoping to have something fresher like a salad or vegetables or even a main course like they offer at the Bloor location bars. For the time being that type of food is only served in the restaurant, So if you're wanting more that drinks and fancy bar food, go to the restaurant area. I dine alone often and prefer to have my meals at the bardo really hope they make adjustments to that menu. Overall I am very satisfied as far as quality is concerned and customer service.
