Hands down one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever visited! When I entered I was struck by the stunning decor. It was both eclectic and elegant. In fact, their bathroom had been recognized for being beautifully whimsical and thoughtfully designed. Besides the interior, the food was delicious as well. I tried the rigatoni & meatballs and while I did find the meat a bit dry, the bechamel sauce was amazing. Food/Drinks: We came here to try the drinks. This restaurant was really pushed on our algorithm when searching restaurants to go in Toronto. The drinks were extremely disappointing, and the pictures show exactly what we got. We did not one sip, and that's exactly how much we received when we got our drinks. I wouldn't be upset if there wasn't a huge ice cube in the middle, so you can only imagine we probably got like two or three sips. And this place was not cheap. It was just very disappointing because I've never had a restaurant serve me half a cup to drink. Location: The reason why I give this place a three star is because the aesthetic is beautiful. That is something I must give credit for. Not only is the bar area shaped as a carousel, but the bathroom was also extremely aesthetically pleasing, and honestly, if you want to take cool pictures, this is probably the spot, but I would just stay away from the drinks. This place is not casual, and I would definitely dress up to go here. I would say it's more for a date night or a girls' night. We got dropped off by an Uber, so I'm not sure how parking works here. Service: I think because I was so in shock with how little we got of liquid within our drinks that I didn't really keep track of how the service was. I'm sure they were helpful because I know if I had bad service on top of how the drinks were plus the prices, I would have definitely remembered, but I don't remember a negative experience with the service, just the drinks. I've been to other Piano Piano locations before and love their food, so wasn't expecting anything less from this one. Service was good as well. Here goes: Piano Piano Spritz 5/5 - Made with Dillon's peach schnapps, campari, peach pipriani, lemon, prosecco and sode. The perfect blend for a citrusy, light drink to sip on over dinner Whipped Ricotta 3/5 - Comes with focaccia, sunflower seeds, chili and rosemary. This was okay and a little heavy with the whipped ricotta so I think you can skip this, as there's other better items on the menu. Fritto Misto 5/5 - Absolutely loved this appie. It's a blend of different fried seafood like calamari, sea bass, shrimp, artichoke, zucchini, parsley and chili garlic aioli. You get a variety of different lightly fried items which is great for sharing. The Hot Rod 5/5 - Loved this and came perfectly cooked. It's with tomato, pepperoni, fior di latte, mozzarella, chili and sicilian oregano. Ask for hot honey on the side as it makes it that much better! Canestri alla vodka 5/5 - My usual go to when I come to Piano Piano. This time it was just as delicious but a tad greasy by the end of the meal. Heavy and greasy that I couldn't finish the rest of the bowl of pasta. Overall, love the vibes here and food is even better. A place to check out for sure! read more

A few coworkers and I came here for dinner a few months ago and we had a pretty good time. For starters, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. From the moody lighting and velvet booths to the ornate chandeliers and eclectic decor, you can tell that they put a lot of thought into the aesthetics. Even the menu has character as it's printed to look like a newspaper. There's of course all the food and drink, but you'll also find comics and a few pictures, it's fun. Oddly enough with it still being happy hour when we got there, almost all of us opted for a mocktail. I went with the Piano Piano spritz ($14) and it was nice and refreshing. For starters we all decided to share the fritto misto (fried seafood), whipped ricotta, and a pizza. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't try the pizza, but I know everyone else at the table liked it. I was a bit let down by the whipped ricotta. There wasn't a good balance between the ricotta and the focaccia so we were left with way more ricotta. The fritto misto was everyone's favorite of the three. As for my entree, I went with the egg yolk ravioli. It came with a brown butter sauce and parmesan. It was extremely rich and heavy, so I'm glad it came with focaccia, which was definitely needed to soak everything up. While the ambiance and service was good, none of us were blown away by the food we ordered. With so many great restaurants in this area of town, it wouldn't be my first choice to return, but if I did I would explore the menu a little further. read more

The ambience was weird because the decor was great but the lights were too bright and so you could see that the finishing was not that great and really killed the ambience. Hamilton has some pretty awesome pizza so I would say they know pizza. Well unfortunately this is not one of them. The pizza was rubbery with lots of burnt pieces and very salty. I actually watched people take topping off their pizza and it was kinda weird to quite frank. Another thing bothered me. I felt the staff was rushing us. They reminded us of the two hour limit for the next table seating man if I'm spending two hours at a restaurant your atmosphere and your food must be perfect. Two hours is more than enough time to eat. You do not need to remind people you're in a time limit. So would I recommend this place yes sure if you want an over salted meal then this is a place for you. Ps your cappuccino were not that hot they were under temperature. Hard truth. I really enjoy the aesthetics of this location. Good food, great cocktails on a photo-worthy backdrop. My group ordered some apps, pizza, and pasta. Not one dish really left me with a feeling like I'll definitely come back for that, but I do remember liking the pepperoni pizza with the hot honey sauce. So it's definitely recommended if you enjoy pizzas. Given that I normally don't care for pizzas, this says a lot. I just remember enjoying the vibe and space. I don't recall what the others ordered for apps, but I do remember I didn't like the app that had a ton of cheese or cream on top of a piece of toast. The most promising part of this restaurant is the ambiance. The interior is truly beautiful, especially the bar area downstairs. The lighting creates this elegant, romantic atmosphere; the seating is comfortable and luxurious without being ostentatious. Service was excellent as well - we were quite impressed by the speed at which the drinks were prepared, and the staff were incredibly professional and welcoming. There was a little bit of disorganization during the main course of the meal, but this was to be expected with such a large group. Now the downside: the food. There were some positives - the bread was delicious, and the calamari appetizer and the pasta were both up to standard. On the other hand, the entrees fell more than a bit flat. The portions were huge, but the largest of them all must be the chicken, which arrived with a mountain of potatoes. Unfortunately, the potatoes were unsalted. This was quite inconsistent with the eggplant parmesan, which was rather salty and sour with the disproportionate amount of capers in the sauce. As for the steak, after ordering it cooked medium rare it seems that half the table received medium cooked steak and the other half received rare steak...hopefully this is not the restaurant's new interpretation of "medium rare". Desserts were pretty mediocre, quite sweet but not in the good way. I will say that the carrot cake was very moist (the way I like it), but the flavours need some work. Came here for a belated birthday dinner with a friend and promptly seated. I have never been to a restaurant that strictly holds you to a two hour window. Not only was I told when I walked in, I was reminded when J was seated and then AGAIN at the 15 min mark where the server told us if we wanted dessert we'd have to move to the bar. I was actually pretty annoyed by that. Onto the food - what I forgot to snag a picture of is the whipped ricotta - that was fantastic! For my man, I had the pasta. I usually love a truffle mushroom pasta, and this was delicious. The sauce was cooked to perfection and the pasta density was also great. My friend had the pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it . To me (a dumpling lover), ravioli is "Italian dumpling" lol so I started serious searching. Let me tell you how difficult it is to find such a place! Piano Piano was one of a few places that met my requirements. It was for a girls get together. We walked in around lunch time. The main floor was almost full, so we were seated in the ground level which was a bar floor. That was actually perfect for us, as we wanted to try cocktails. Monday lunch, so less people, less noise. We wanted to catch up a lot, so we appreciated it. The ambience was amazing. The glamorous, mysterious and sophisticated decor made me feel as if I tripped into another world. Then food - We had: # Signature Cocktails PIANO PIANO SPRITZ: Gentle peach and bubbles - delicious felt like a light peach soda with elegant wine-y booze, with a hint of citrus. Presentation was not impressive but the taste/mix was sophisticated. #Caesar (extra spicy, double): Not on the menu, but we requested this. Soooo good. I rarely had perfect Caesar with extra spice and booze elsewhere. I especially liked the castelvetarne olives that came with it. Fresh crispy texture with mildly tangy and buttery flavour. Perfect for the ceasar! #Calamari Fritti Had not just calamari, but also had shrimps, fish pieces, and artichokes, deep fried crispy with very light coating. Highly recommend this. #The PIANO PIANO Caesar Salad I felt that the dressing was too generous. Pork belly was ridiculously big and fatty. Focaccia croutons are too crunchy. Only highlight was the ue of white anchovy and its flavour. #Egg Yolk Ravioli It was ok, but disappointing as my expectation was high. A bit oily IMHO. The texture of the ravioli felt under-cooked to me, just before al-dente - dry around the edges. Brown butter was plenty, which I felt too much. Butter sauce was rich but never go well with dried pasta. I personally felt that the parmigiano was too much, adding extra salt to already salty ravioli, and I did not feel the nuttiness of Parmigiano. The stuffing was cheese forward with just a hint of spinach. Enjoyed the runny egg york. Accompanying Focaccia was soaked with butter. I liked its ambience, cocktails and friendly services. I've always wanted to try this restaurant and I am so glad I did. The food was absolutely fantastic. My friend and I did the lunch special - appetizer, main and dessert for $36 which was a great deal. I got the burrata with the grapes. The cheese was fresh, the grapes added a nice touch of sweetness and the bread was a great addition I wanted the ravioli but they said they ran out so I did the vodka pasta. The portion was pretty big, it has the perfect level of spice and flavour. The guanciale was sooo tasty, it had great flavour. Last but not least... the tiramisu. Great place for an Italian dinner. Beautiful atmosphere and great service. Staff are fairly on point and even though the place is fairly busy they are reasonably on time. Food was very good and tasty. Priced as a premium experience pushing $27 per 12" pizza and $20 - 30 for past a dishes. Entre items are north of $50 going to $100 for the steak and lamb options. Great wine selection that was not big but big enough. I would give this place a 9/10 At almost $150 /pp it was a bit high for the type of place. Even without drinks we would have been at $100 pp which is a bit pricy for Italian. A lot of people came and just share 1 - 2 dishes for the experience. Toronto has an incredible foodie scene, chock full of options to explore! Do yourself a favor and Piano Piano to the list. If I am not mistaken, this is one of two locations. I made a reservation and despite that, to my surprise there was no seating available on the main level. To my further surprise, there's a downstairs option with an entirely different vibe and scenery. It was a little less crowded and noisy. The coolest part was being seated at their 'bar' area which looks a bit like a carousel. The menu had a cool newspaper look to it with the restaurant's history. The bartender was pleasant and promptly took my order when I was ready. I ordered the Mushroom Cavatelli. While it was delicious, it was slightly over salted. But, I cleaned the plate, nonetheless. The sauce was tasty, but it was impossible to mask the extreme saltiness. I had drank a lot more water than usual because of this. I've been to the Colborne location of Piano Piano several times now, and it's become one of my go-to spots for a good pasta lunch in the city. I always stick to their lunch special--it's a solid deal for Toronto considering it often costs a lot more for a lot less in this city. For $35 you get half an appetizer, a pasta or pizza, and a dessert (Choice of ice cream of tiramisu). On my most recent visit, I noticed they had a new menu item: the lobster fusilli. I decided to give it a try for a $15 upgrade, along with my usual go-to meatball rigatoni. For our apps, we went with calamari, and for dessert, the Nutella tiramisu and ice cream. Let's start with the lobster fusilli. Not my favourite. For a $15 upgrade, I was expecting more. The portion was pretty small, the pasta was undercooked, and the flavours just didn't hit. Considering the lobster fusilli is only $11 more than other pastas on their regular menu, the $15 upgrade felt excessive. The meatball rigatoni, on the other hand, was as good as always. There's a reason it's my go-to. The sauce is rich and creamy, the portions are substantial, and the meatballs are tender and full of flavour. It's consistently delicious and always hits the spot. I also always ask for chilli oil to go with it (and thankfully, unlike other places, they don't charge extra). The calamari was perfect as usual. Light, crispy, and not chewy--a win every time. And the Nutella tiramisu was a standout! Not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. I could easily eat five of them (not that I should, but I could). Aside from the food, the Colborne location is a vibe. The interior is stunning, and the downstairs carousel bar is unique and worth checking out. The bathroom alone deserves its own shoutout and visit. Despite how good the lunch deal is, I've never had to wait long for a table. The service is consistently great, too--attentive and friendly without feeling rushed. Overall, Piano Piano remains a solid lunch spot. The interior design and décor were nice, but the food was nothing special and the service was quite slow. Chopped Salad - I got it without the feta cheese and dressing, and it was still good and flavourful. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and added a lot of flavour. There was a good amount of kale, crispy chickpeas, and polenta. However, some of the ingredients in this salad were extremely salty (green olives, pickled cucumber, pickled onion). Mushroom Salad (seasonal special) - Loved the big leaves of arugula and giant oyster mushrooms. Glad that they were able to customize it to come without the cheese and dressing. Roasted Sea Bass - Underwhelming dish. The fish itself was good, but the dish was overly saucy and quite spicy. There were barely any clams, the artichokes were hard, and the overall taste of the sauce (which they gave plenty of) wasn't that good. Apparently their bathroom won an award for one of the best restaurant bathrooms in the city (awarded by Cashmere UltraLuxe Bathroom Guide), but I didn't find it anything special. I had been to other restaurants with nicer and more luxurious bathrooms than this one. The overall atmosphere was also very loud inside, especially during peak dining times. First off I believe you have to understand the name of the restaurant. The word Piano in Italian means slowly and is linked to a very famous Italian saying which is: Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano, which translates to who goes slowly, goes healthily and far. We ordered two starters, clams were very good, the 'Nduja infused in the red sauce made for a unique pleasant flavor. The Calamari Fritti which came with crispy light and airy calamari and artichokes was possibly the best I've ever had. I had a craving for classic comfort food, so I opted for the rigatoni and meatballs. The presentation was unique - served in an oval dish, with pasta lining the perimeter topped with Fontina bechamel sauce. The meatballs took center stage in a vibrant red sauce. The presentation was impressive and became even more delightful as the flavors melded together. We also enjoyed the Canestri alla Vodka and a side of Nonna's Meatballs. When having a dining experience there's so many things to consider such as the service, the ambiance and the food. This was kind of a half good half not good where, the salad and pizza were pretty decent (4 stars if I just had that) and the calamari and rigatoni were not very good. Salad is huge and had a good amount of bacon, great taste overall. Pizza was generous with toppings, and had a pretty unique flavor. I really like mushroom pizzas and this one doesn't disappoint. We made reservations for a Wednesday lunch, and we both got the $34 lunch special. The restaurant is two floors, both are beautifully decorated, but I prefer the downstairs where we were seated. There are lots of mirrors and it's great for photos. I also love the design of the menu. Even the washroom is beautiful, completely mirrored and with fancy fixtures. We ordered the calamari, the burrata, mushroom cavatelli, canestri alla vodka, and nutella tiramisu. I enjoyed everything. The calamari was lightly battered and perfectly fried, and mixed with pieces of fries artichoke as well. The burrata came with a roasted cherry tomatoes and crusty bread. The pastas were both large portions, and so flavourful. Tiramisu was also delicious, but not the best I've ever had. I wanted to try the cheesecake instead but it was $6 extra, which didn't make sense to me since both desserts were the same price on the regular menu. Overall the value was great, I could have saved it for two meals but we both came with an empty stomach and determination not to have leftovers. We were so stuffed. The interior is beautiful and unique. We really loved the design of the main restaurant area, it felt like you were transported to another time. We decided to make our way to the lounge downstairs. We loved the relaxed vibe. We came on August 31, 2025, and it looked to be a pretty busy night. We sat down at the bar, and it was about 5/6 minutes before anyone approached us. This was ok with us, as we had only planned on grabbing drinks, and we were enjoying the ambiance. We ordered two espresso martinis, and they were delightful. The bartender even gave us a few tips and tricks on how to make the perfect espresso martini at home. Good not great - Caesar salad- it does come with bacon but server put in a separate dish as I don't eat pork . It was a good salad - not overly dressed, the lettuce was crips, the Parmesan cheese was great and the large croutons were crunchy and soft inside We did 2 pasta dishes and 1 pizza: - just do yourself a favour and get the tortellini con bolognese (beef)...it's simply outstanding. The amount of flavour packed into this sauce is mind boggling...it's rich and comforting and you just want to close your eyes and let it take you to places you've never been before - egg yolk ravioli- spinach, egg, brown butter, parmigiana...packed with flavour to make your taste buds sing. These were the 2 standout dishes - pizza - the Godmother- olive oil, burrata, tomato, anchovies & pecorino. I did like it but found it a tad too salty for my personal liking...maybe if there was a bit of the anchovies chopped up in the sauce instead of in the pizza - we all had tiramisu and it was the perfect ending to lunch. My friend took me here for my bday on a Tuesday night. We had an early dinner after work around 515pm. It wasn't very busy at first but slowly more people came in. We sat upstairs dining room. There is a downstairs bar area. I love the pink entrance and the decor had a swanky vibe. We ordered a starter to share - Whipped Ricotta which was Focaccia, Chili, Sunflower Seeds, Rosemary. For the two mains we had The Fun Guy Pizza (King Oyster Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Taleggio, Mozzarella, Parmigiano) - this was SO good!!! We also tried the Tortelli con Bolognese (Ricotta Stuffed Tortelli, Tomato, Beef, Brown Butter, Parmigiano). It tasted ok. The pasta shell was too thick. I would prefer for it to be thinner. For dessert we really wanted to try the Nutella Tiramisu but they sold out . As an alternative we had the Chocolate Caramel Budino (Chocolate Crumble, Dolce de Leche, Maldon Salt, Vanilla Whipped Cream). This was very good except I wasn't too keen on the maldon salt. I had a blast here! It can be difficult to get a table as a walk in and they highly recommend a reservation, but there are always spots open at the bar and the bartenders provide great conversation. I liked the option of essentially having a 3 course meal for $48 - you get to pick an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The salmon crudo was heavenly - fatty salmon that was cut nicely by the capers. I got the People's Champ pizza which was huge! I couldn't have leftovers as a takeaway since I was flying out early next morning and boy did I have trouble finishing the pizza. There are a couple different options of sauce for dipping and I enjoyed the tangy spicy aioli. Finally, I got the Nutella tiramisu which really ended my night well! It's a great vibe inside and the decor is great. There's a freestanding carousel horse people were getting tons of pictures with and there are other great photos ops present. Great food for the price! My colleague and I came for a lunch during the work week. We each ordered the $34 lunch special: 1/2 app, main (pizza/pasta), and dessert. The portions make look small, but it will definitely leave you feeling stuffed! For appetizers, we ordered the Burrata Con Funghi and Prosciutto Crudo. The Burrata Con Funghi was silky, creamy, and delicious, accompanied with a rich earthiness from the mushrooms. However, if you love sweet and savoury like me, you'll definitely prefer the Prosciutto Crudo - the sweetness from the grapes contrasted perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto. I couldn't help but devour the dish! For mains, we got the Sweet Hornet Pizza and the Egg Yolk Ravioli. Both were very respectable and generous dishes. My colleague loved the pizza, which was not overpowered by any single ingredient. Be warned - the pizza will fill you up. For myself, this was my first time having egg yolk ravioli and I was definitely impressed. Cutting into the pasta revealed a beautiful flow of golden yolk, surrounded by a delicate layer of ricotta and spinach. The dish came with 2 ravioli, but honestly, just one would've done the trick as well. To wrap things up, we both got the Nutella Tiramisu. This was an absolute treat, I can't recommend enough! Super rich and packed with Nutella, this dessert will leave you in bliss. You might return back to the office with a severe case of food coma, but it's definitely worth it. Food was excellent as always but our only qualm was the small size of hubbys ravioli dish. Should have been much bigger and he did leave hungry. Recently, I ended up trying out Piano Piano recently with their new location in Colbourne St as a celebration of a special occasion. The interior decor was beautiful and the two floor levels had their differences in vibes. We were situated on the lower floor (got reservation beforehand) which was more suitable for smaller groups and gave a more intimate vibe. It's quite busy especially during lunch hours! We ended up opting for the Lunch Special that came with 1/2 appetizers, pasta or pizza and a dessert. Based on the options, we went with a Proscuitto Crudo, Calamari Fritti and Burrata al Funghi for the appetizers. Unfortunately, wasn't a big fan of the Proscuitto Crudo, and Burrata al Funghi. The calamari was amazing and was a good starter appetizer especially with the chilli garlic aioli sauce. Choosing from the choice of pasta or pizza we decided to try a bit of both. Based on the choices we got the Hawaiian pizza. I really wanted to try the famous Egg Yolk Ravioli but unfortunately was sold out when I went so ended up going with the Mushroom Cavatelli. In addition, we got Rigatoni & Meatballs as a safe option. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing and didn't live up to the hype. The flavours were really average and was bland after a couple of bites. The tiramisu was decent but was a bit small in portions. Overall, I found it to be a disappointing experience. The atmosphere and the customer service was amazing but the food wasn't worth the visit. Unfortunately, found it to be overhyped and would only give it a 3.5/5. read more

This location is awesome. I've always loved piano piano. The decor here is so cute. Jacklyn, Duy and Andy are absolutely amazing. Andy really knows how to operate a welcoming restaurant. The service is attentive, effective and friendly. They really work as a team here. They don't have to be your server to approach you and say hi to you. The meatball rigatoni was amazing.
