My wife and I decided upon the Eatery after checking out several other restaurants on our stroll down High Street. What a wonderful decision!
The ambiance is a well-balanced blend of old-world charm and cool modern. There is a warm coziness about the place that made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped inside.
While the menu is not extensive it covers most all the culinary bases in its few selections. Everything looked delicious and it was hard to decide. I landed on the Herefordshire steak with peppercorn sauce and my wife selected the risotto with smoked salmon. I was well pleased with my steak, the sauce accented the flavorful beef perfectly. The accompanying sides were delicious as well, one was a 'flat mushroom' was the saute'd cap of what I believe was a shitake. There was also a small basket of french fried potatoes which I had with their house catsup. The creamy risotto with salmon nearly sent my wife over the moon.
The service was wonderful. Attentive, but not obtrusive. One of the co-owners even bused our table at the end of the meal. It was a perfect ending to our adventure in the Cotswolds. read more
