Scott helped me hold strong and ultimately agree to a settlement that was fair to both sides yet was more than acceptable to me. Not only did he offer great legal advice and prevent me from just giving in to get it done, but he also helped me on the personal and emotional side of the ordeal and kept me strong until a settlement was reached. I found Scott to be extremely knowledgeable and experienced. When the ex came back looking for more (the first time,) he dismissed her demands and she went away. Now that she has come back (the second time,) he is helping me fight back hard and put an end to this nonsense. The fact that she has come back twice is a good indication that Scott's original counsel prevented the other side from getting their way. I am not sure about the earlier review, but Scott has always been very responsive and has returned my phone calls promptly. He would even fit me in between his court appearances. Scott was my second attorney during this divorce. The first one "nickeled and dimed" me for every minute but never truly answered my questions. Scott has been more than fair in terms of his fees and did not charge me to read every text or answer every call. He always provided answers to my questions and would elaborate and expand upon them and offer additional strategies. I would highly recommend Scott if you find yourself in the financial battle of your life.

I asked several times if he was working for me or my soon to be ex husband. He wanted me to bow down to whatever my ex wanted, instead of fighting for what I wanted and deserved. Spoke very rudely to me. Saying I was dragging my feet on signing paperwork when I was waiting for my name change to be finalized, which he knew I was doing. Funny that the day my name legally changed I sent him the paperwork and then 2 days later (dragging our feet?) he sent the updated paperwork, I signed, had notarized and sent back the next day. But yes, I was dragging my feet. I'd say Matt was just as bad as the ex. If you want to pay for your ex to have a second lawyer, Matt's your guy. Otherwise, find someone who will represent YOU and will fight for YOU. After all I am the one paying the bill. Even though he constantly threw the cost at me. I never complained about the cost and paid every bill as soon as the link was sent. When I told him he was a horrible lawyer, he responded I was difficult to deal with. Interesting.

I feel a little like "oh the case is closed our job is done" yet my court date I could have had has come and gone , I settled way before the court date but still have received anything. I'd recommend before settling any cases through this office that you have them place a timeframe in your settlement so opposing counsel can't drag things out for weeks even after you agree to settle.

Run, don't walk away from this firm…read more My ex-wife used this firm while we were going through our divorce. Our divorce was very amicable. We did not need to go to court or even to any kind of sit down with lawyers. Her and I basically ironed everything out ourselves. My ex decided she wanted a lawyer to make sure she did everything correctly. Choosing this place was a huge mistake that cost her a lot of money. This firm kept asking for more money to do this or that or anything that needed to be done. By the time it was all over, my ex had paid far, far more than what she thought she was going to pay. Does this show how amicable the divorce was? The first thing I am saying this place did wrong, was overcharge her, not me! When I was first contacted by this place, I was asked to upload a ton of financial information to a shared file site. I uploaded over 50 documents to the site the next day. About a month later I get a voicemail from them saying that they need these documents to proceed. The voicemail also said that they would like to be able to proceed without further litigation, which will be needed if I don't upload the documents. I called them and told them that the documents were uploaded a month ago. The lawyer checked and sure enough, the documents were there! Really? You didn't check first? You just left a message about taking me to court to get the documents you already have? Crazy! There was a lot of terrible communication like this while dealing with this firm. There was more than one occasion where they asked me for something they already had. There was one time that I received a call asking for something they said they asked for already. I checked all previous correspondence with them and had no record of them asking me for what they wanted. The communication was so bad that during one phone call I had finally had enough and told them that they need to get their act together and learn how to communicate with each other. I told them I was tired of them wasting my time. It was incredibly frustrating dealing with these people. My ex had the same issues with them. They are very unorganized and sloppy. I could go on and on, but this is already long enough. The one other thing I wanted to mention is how they shipped papers to me. They put no more that 20 pages of documents into boxes and shipped them. I will add pictures to this to show the boxes. They were crushed and reused boxes. Is this how you would expect a quality lawyer to ship documents? I couldn't believe it the first time it happened, then it happened again! I'm sure this place will post a response to this review, like they have with other negative reviews. There is nothing they can say to wash away the fact that they don't communicate with each other, are disorganized and not very well run. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a quality lawyer. Edit: As I knew would happen, this firm did post a reply. A pathetic one at that. I didn't ask you to address my review. I'm simply trying to alert others to your unorganized and unprofessional practices. If you cared for the environment, you wouldn't ship less than 20 pieces of paper in a box that could easily fit over a thousand pieces. I have zero plans to contact you to discuss anything. I am so grateful that I will never have to deal with your disorganized practice again!

Alliance is by far the best and most comprehensive military transition firm out there for officers…read more They only accept 300 officers per year into the program and the selection process is pretty rigorous, but it's worth it. Once you're in the program, they really get to know you and take care of you. The training program taught me about things that I never would have thought to even ask and really set me up for success in the corporate world. After working with Orion and Bradley Morris first, I can tell you there is just no comparison. Both of those firms just sent me to their websites when I was within 4 months of separating and told me to just click through slides. Alliance starts training you up to a year before you get out and the training is done live in small groups in online forums. It's awesome that you can ask questions and get answers on the spot. The opportunities at the conference were awesome too! They really do a great job making sure the companies are high quality and are places were officers would actually want to work. While working with Bradley Morris and Orion, I did a bunch of job applications on my own too. I ended up getting a good number of call backs and went through some interviews, only to find out at the end that the pay wasn't good enough or the position had less leadership and promotion potential than what the company advertised (we're talking about big, brand-name companies). It's nice that Alliance does all of the vetting for you so you don't waste your time. The job search practically became a full-time job in those months leading up to my terminal leave. My OERs were mostly ACOMs and I had a good idea of what I was worth. It was nice to work with a firm that only works with other people like me and treated me like I was a person and not just a way for them to make a quick buck. Plus, you cannot beat that they pay for your airfare and hotel room for the hiring conference. I thought the whole team was genuine, thoughtful, caring, and so easy to work with. I strongly, strongly recommend Alliance. They really want to set you up for a career versus just a job.

Unfortunately, I left the consultation without receiving any meaningful guidance on that topic or on my overall financial situation. What made the experience more disappointing was that I later had a consultation with another bankruptcy firm that lasted about 45 minutes. They took the time to understand my circumstances, explain my options, and answer questions I didn't even know to ask. The difference was night and day. When I requested a refund, it was denied. While I understand they have a nonrefundable policy, I do not believe the service I received justified the fee. I would recommend speaking with multiple firms before paying for a consultation from this company.

I eventually took his advice and hired Wake County attorney who was twice as expensive and had some success in the Wake County court, but the entire damage could not be undone! The case dragged on from 2018-2023, unnecessarily because so much damage due to his ?lack of experience or disinterest or lack of adequate connections, or his just never believing in our cause, or, most likely, ALL of those things. Go elsewhere and save yourself the unnecessary heartache. He and his associate Mathew Quinn, managed to lose the appeal as well.

She did not negotiate, nor investigate on my behalf whatsoever. I am leaving out details for privacy sake. I took my agreement to an expensive, experienced attorney downtown. He went line by line. And then passed the document back. Said "I am so sorry. She gave absolutely everything to him.There is nothing you can do." The lack of her experience or maybe she just didn't care... have had devastating effects on myself and children. Your life depends on choosing a good attorney during these times when you can't make good decisions for yourself. I will spend years regretting this choice.
