The other 1/2 of mom's Meatloaf sandwich and the delectable potato salad
    NinaandPoppy H.

From the moment you arrive you're warmly greeted like an old friend and asked if you're "takin' or stayin'"(cute way to see if you're eating in or take out). The menu is fairly extensive and literally everything looks amazing, homemade, and fresh. Order counter-style and seat yourself and they bring your order. I was in the mood for a salad and the first one on the board was their Chef salad with homemade bleu cheese on the side (I had no onions). The deli meat was smoked turkey and a nice ham, hearty helpings, hard boiled eggs, fresh romaine, cucumber, Roma tomatoes, and black olives and the dressing was devine. My husband ordered the Mom's Meatloaf on thick toasted white bread (possibly homemade), mayo, lettuce, tomato, and provolone cheese. Spectacular! As was the potato salad with a hint of sweet relish. They have a dessert revolving tray that was super tempting... but will have to wait till we pass through again. Super convenient right off I-95 and way better than fast food! Highly recommend this local and lovely place!

    These cucumbers... dry and old.

Tuna salad plate with albacore tuna. Nope. The cucumbers... looked dehydrated. I did not try. The tomatoes were nasty. I am sorry to say there was nothing good about this experience, along with the wait. I ordered via phone, told thirty minutes. It took nearly an hour. That is not albacore.

I have been here once before to order take out. Both times I received great service. Food is always good. Home baked good. Today, i ordered a Reuben sandwich, a slice of homemade carrot cake and a homemade peanut butter brownie. Just look at the photos. Yum!

Chicken salad on Marble Rye with side of potato salad.

Thoroughly enjoyed this spot. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. I had the chicken salad on marble rye. The bread was soft and tender and the salad was very flavorful. Ordered to go some yummy baked goods and a bowl of their Italian wedding soup which was also delicious and substantial.

Been here twice in the last 3 weeks after hearing good things about this local favorite for years, and I'm so glad I finally did! It's a simple cafe setting, you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. All the employees are so sweet and helpful, and the food is incredible! So far we've had the chicken salad melt (soooo good I was craving it the next day), the roast beef melt, and the reuben. They also have a display of homemade cakes and a few that they keep inside so ask what they've got. Both times, we got the decadent chocolate fudge slice. It's a HUGE portion, and even though I'm one of those with a second stomach for dessert, I can't finish it in one go!

There seems to be separate listings. Also, when you go know that the Best parking is over by the market. But that means you walk through the market to get to the restaurant. When we went for dinner, the market closed while we were eating so we had to go out the front of the restaurant and walk around the building to get back to our car. As for the restaurant, first off, our server AnneKay was delightful. She was personable, fun, and attentive. Great server! My wife and I and our adult daughter died there and were overall pleased. I do have to make one negative comment about the Carpaccio, unfortunately- this was more of a salad on top of five small medallions of carpaccio. Definitely not enough meat. My wife and daughter split the braised short rib and it was delicious. I had the dry aged ribeye with the black truffle butter with the side of the wild mushrooms. It was good, but not great. I also had the Chardonnay mushroom soup. It reminded me of the soup from Sage restaurant that used to be over in Cape Canaveral. A little less creamy, but more mushroomy. If you miss that soup at Sage, this is a good substitute. All in all, we enjoyed our visit.

I had the chicken salad melt with broccoli salad and pasta salad and it came with a small cookie. The food was delicious! We brought in our own water from the long walk and they had no problem filling up more water for free. The meals came to 15.89 each which was well worth it with the food they give you. And that little cookie was perfect side of sweet to finish the meal. Will definitely be back! The place was clean, busy and they brought your food out which was a nice touch. They don't just stand around taking orders so a nice tip was not a problem for me. I however did tip after my meal to see if what they said held up and it went beyond. Her choices of dining are not compatible with my own. Well, let's be honest since I really enjoy a Big Mac from time to time so........ I went, its a cute place located next to Whole Foods which opens in just a few days. The friendly staff member took my order, an original chicken salad sandwich and loaded potato soup. I sat down and my order came to my table in a reasonable amount of time. On my plate was the sandwich, soup, crackers, a pickle spear, and a cookie. Quite a good deal for a little over $10 as long as it tastes good. I sampled the soup and it was very tasty and I especially enjoyed dunking the crackers in the soup. The pickle spear was excellent, not to sweet or plain like half sour. The sandwich to be honest had the softest yet firmest white bread one could ever hope for. Inside the chicken salad was scooped over tomato and lettuce. The chicken salad itself is very clean in taste and texture but one could make the same at home if great care was taken in its preparation. Also it appears to be simply scooped onto the sandwich since it was far heavier in the middle where it was cut. That being said I enjoyed it very much. This is not a sandwich you would pick up at 711, Wawa or even Publix. This is a homemade style chicken salad prepared by someone that knows exactly how to make something with care and love. For the price of just over $10, I will be back.

My favorite part is you can do flights. I ordered three soup and two slider flight. Soups: tomato basil and lobster bisque. Both were good alone but they mixed well too. The bisque was one of the better ones I've had. I could actually taste the basil in the tomato basil. Sliders: chicken salad and pimento cheese. Both were good, but alone without soup they're just ok. The best part of the sliders is they come on Hawaiian rolls. I would definitely go again since I love soup.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I…read morelike to consider myself, at times, a connoisieur of soups. I love them all, and I don't even mean just the ones most people know of, but ones that are often passed over simply because they are not known. Good example: the savory cold soups that are meant to be cold, not just a hot soup you serve cold because you're lazy to wait a minute for it to warm up in a microwave. I will even go as far as to say that I love chili with beans... and without. Doesn't matter. It is a chucky soup. I like creamy soup. I like chunky soup. I like chunky and creamy soup. I like soup... and kudos to anyone who got the classic Eddie Murphy stand-up comedy joke right there. Anyways, The Soup Shop in, what I will call the part of Melbourne between Suntree and Melbourne Major (where Historic Downtown Melbourne) is located, right near the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne campus, is the original location (that I know of). I have been a couple of times, and every single time, it has been great. As a matter of fact, the Soup Shop answers that question I've asked which is, "What if there was a restauant that served an array of soups I can choose from?" Questioned answered and with flying colors, too. Pertaining to its ambiance, the Soup Shop doesn't exactly stand out compared to some of the decor these new restaurants seem to push as part of their experience. Instead, their decor is simplistic, but they so happen to really promote and push one particular artist as her paintings are all over the walls of the restaurant. As for the soup, I decided to get the flight, which is a sample (flight) size of three soups of your choice. Certain soups do have a specialty upcharge, specifically the bisques, and some can't be made in such because of how they are prepared, specifically the ramen. Despite that, there are a wide array of soup choices to choose from. You now, chunky soup, creamy soup, chunky and creamy soup. And to be serious for a moment, they also have soups that cater to special dietary needs. I saw a whole cooler full of ready-to-warm-up soups for bariatrics. As for the prices, they are not bad all. I think the soup flight was about $12, which is not bad at all for three soups a little bigger than a cup but smaller than a bowl. They also serve other food items such as sandwiches and desserts. My suggestion: the grilled cheese. Definitely pair it with the tomato soup. Ultimately, I am going to give the OG Soup Shop four out of five stars. They were outstanding the two times I went, but I need to try more of their food to see if they are consistent... because most people know that my fifth star is awarded after reviews (unless I've been to a business more than let's say five times) and they are consistent. I truly think The OG Soup Shop will be consistent, but you never know.
