**INITIAL REVIEW ** The Soup Shop located in central Melbourne, which I will say is the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree, is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the mid-Melbourne area, the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree. I mean, it is a restaurant that sells soup, and I mean more than one soup or even more than the common numbers of two to five soups. Think twenty soups or more. Ergo, when I found out that another Soup Shop location would open in West Melbourne, FL, I was excited. Not only would one of my favorite restaurants have another location available, but this one so happens to be closer to me. The question is if this new location would be as good as the OG. Despite not being a 1-to-1 of excellence to the OG, this new location is still excellent. Though an address is provided, the new Soup Shop location is located in the Palm Crossing Shopping Center a.k.a. Publix Shopping Plaza West Melbourne on Palm Bay Rd. (because to be fair, all the best shopping plazas in Florida happen to be Publix shopping plazas). If it helps, the new Apocalypse Coffee Roasters location is also in the same plaza. Upon entering the locale, it is like walking into a cozy nook you'd like to sit in and enjoy a book. Multiple two-person seating is available up front with one on the eastside. I usually sit on the eastside table as it is closest to the fountain dispenser, as all fountan drinks have free refills. As for service, the ladies working there are great, especially the team lead/manager who works on weekdays. I definitely like how she initiates conversation by asking about the t-shirt you are wearing. I was wearing my "EXPLORE" shirt and she asked me what it is I am exploring. Usually, it would be geocaches and/or letterboxes, but at the time, soup flavors! Which brings me to the six flavors of soup I had via the flight. Yes. The Soup Shop serves flights (and that is all the locations from what I know, too). I had the Dragon Stew, chili, chicken gumbo, tomato soup, creamy garlic tomato soup, and she crab bisque. Details of the soups are in the pics, but definitely loved the tomato soups especially with their fantastic grilled cheese sandwich they have on their menu. And on a sidenote: the restroom was unisex and clean. Definitely no drips on the floor or anything like that. Ultimately, I am going to give this Soup Shop - West Melbourne, four out of five stars. All and all, they are excellent, but we'll have to see if they are consistent. If they are consistently excellent, not perfect, just excellent, they'll get their fifth star for consistency. read more

Food amazing, the staff was very friendly and even offered samples to try of the different soups. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table with self serve drinks. The place is small but fully accessible. Soup to go as well in containers. Overall very small but nice and even a wheelchair friendly table in the corner. Their GUMBO is excellent but the garlic tomato soup and grilled cheese (with an amazing "cheese pull") is outstanding!! Wow!! read more

$18 for this??? are you kidding me? in what world does a shredded chicken nugget and cheese on a small roll cost $18, i wish i could give negative stars. No shade against the staff they were cool but who the heck is making these prices??? this is ludicrous, "support small businesses " yeah i try but stuff like this makes it harder and harder every day. Absolutely no reason this should be $18 freaking dollars, i wouldnt even pay 12! wish i checked before i left and got home. the hearty Italian soup is to die for. I've tried the French onion which was good, but too much trouble to reheat and put the cheese on top to melt. just wasn't my cup of tea. I just tried the stuffed cabbage soup. it was ok, but I'm ndecided if I would try it again. it wasn't very flavorful as I expected it to be. it needed more rice and more hamburger, and more of a tomato flavor. So far, I'm sticking w the hearty Italian soup. I need the stuffed pepper soup!!! read more

I was a little disappointed, who puts ham in she crab soup. Being a pescatarian I was shocked but was able to pick it out although it was a bit of a challenge. Decided to grab a Creamy Garlic Tomato Soup to sit in the dreaded pick up line waiting for my kids. The ladies in the front were super friendly and that's always a plus. This place is amazing! I honestly am not a soup eater, but the black bean and ham, cabbage soup, and dragon stew are so good. Tiffany gave advice on the different soups and stews and helped me choose ones I would like. She's very friendly as is the whole staff. Now I have to get my husband in there. I love the Wickham location and am so happy that one has opened closer to me. If you enjoy soup, there's honestly nothing to complain about with the Soup Shop. It's a cute place and everything I've tried so far has been delicious (haven't kept track of all the soups I've tried but highlights for me have been the she crab soup, lobster bisque, wild rice chicken, chicken and dumpling soup, and the gumbo). Love the staff here, they're super friendly and helpful and are happy to give you samples of their ready soups. They also offer sandwiches which are quite nice and lunch combos too. It's unfortunate that I have to write this review when the owner could have just simply called me for my 2nd call. I went there to buy a few frozen soups, and cooked my chicken noodle soup only to find a piece of plastic. I have waited 5 days for a call back or any acknowledgment from anyone in the company about this incident, but no response. This is poor business and absolutely terrible. Always the best. We have been to Post Road many times. Second trip to West Melbourne. Never disappoints. Lobster bisque to die for. Pimento cheese is the best.
