Take it from a jersey boy...this place is on point. The food and service are 5 stars forgetaboutit! The only thing that made me deduct a star was the place was in desperate need of a face lift. They did have a sign on the door saying they were going to be closed for renovations so I promise I will be back and if things are updated, I will update the score.

I missed Chekmarc's but Jersey Brothers definitely filled the void! The sausage gravy did not need any salt or pepper and had plenty of sausage. The blueberry muffin was grilled with butters and served with a nice golden brown crust. The atmosphere is still the same as the previous diner, along with the great customer service.

I'd walk a mile for the hash browns Always good Great service Continuing the tradition and great food of Chekmark but with extended hours!!!

Pastrami hash with crispy hash browns poached eggs.. added the third I was hungry!

This place is the bomb! Whatever you order is going to be great.. Breakfast lunch and dinner take your choice..

    "Traditional" English fish and chips

Had a great lunch at Jersey Brothers Diner in Palm Bay. Went there on Friday for lunch on my birthday. I had the "Jersey Sloppy Joe" with pastrami, swiss cheese and slaw. Delicious! My dad had the "traditional English" fish and chips, he said it was very good. The portions were enormous, we both brought home at least half as leftovers. The desserts were delicious, too. The atmosphere was fun and friendly! The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. Highly recommend and I definitely would go back.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Classic Gyro and Pastichio. The gyro was huge and filled with meat. A bit dry for my taste and the tazaki sauce helped a bunch. The pastachio was great. With side salad it hit the spot. The dressing was very good. They do offer some Jamaican flavors at times but not today. Protip. Park in the back. It is just easier and that is where the handicap spots are. FYI

Fresh, Healthy Lunch Spot by the Beach…read more Such a great little place for a light and healthy lunch, especially if you're spending the day near the beach. The menu has plenty of fresh options, but the wraps were the standout--packed with flavor, super fresh ingredients, and just the right size to leave you satisfied without feeling heavy. It's the kind of spot where you can grab something delicious and still feel good about what you're eating. What made it great: * Fresh, healthy choices that don't taste "healthy"--just really good * Wraps that are flavorful, well‑made, and actually filling * Quick service, perfect for a beach-day lunch * Easy to get to, just steps from the water It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want something tasty without the guilt. I'd absolutely stop here again on my next beach day.

Plenty of seating and the area near the counter seems to be a bit cooler. An extensive menu with plenty of choices. I settled on the T Street wrap which was chicken salad in a spinach tortilla with carrots spinach and avocado. Flavor was pretty good and plenty of crunch from the carrots. The chicken salad was a tad dry for me so next time I will ask for extra mayo to add in. It came with tortilla chips (from a bag I would imagine and they tasted like it) and some of their homemade beet hummus. A hard pass next time. Not my thing apparently. Also it says it comes with tomato. Missing on my wrap. Just noticed reviewing the menu. That may have helped with the dryness. They had a cooler that had drinks in it, but the bottle of tea I grabbed was warm. They also have a thing of water you can help yourself to. But it could have used some ice. It was room temp. But free. Busy cafe and they were pumping out the food and drinks. Coffee drinks appeared to be very popular from my vantage point. Gonna have to give it a go again and try a bowl. Normally I would have only done three stars but the staff was very friendly and smiled when they brought my food to me, extra star for the vibe.
