SUMMARY: Months of no communication, unfinished siding that left my home exposed, unannounced…read morematerial deliveries, safety hazards left behind, and a surprise invoice sent six months later with no explanation. Completely unprofessional from start to finish. Absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional, and negligent experience. Northern Lights was by far the worst contractor experience I have ever had. From start to finish, their communication, accountability, and basic competence were nonexistent. After a storm on May 15, this company dragged its feet for months. In June, they removed a piece of my siding to "find a match" and then did absolutely nothing to replace it, leaving my home with exposed sheathing for months. That missing siding was never addressed by them--I eventually had to go buy siding myself just to prevent further damage to my house. I provided a check in mid-June, which wasn't even cashed for weeks because they "forgot." That should have been my first red flag. On July 9, materials were delivered with zero warning, blocking me inside my own garage. When I called to ask why the materials were gone later that day, I was told I must be confused and that the materials were either never there or that I moved them. Management said they would look into it and call me back. No one ever followed up. Materials were delivered again on July 10--still with no notice. The roof was completed on July 11, and they left tons of nails scattered throughout my driveway and yard, creating a serious safety hazard. On July 16, I called about the siding. I was told they were "waiting to hear from me," despite previously saying they would follow up. I specifically stated I would be out of state and did not want anyone at my house while I was gone. They ignored that and showed up anyway. That was the last contact I had with anyone at Northern Lights for months. Then, out of nowhere in mid-December, I received a call claiming I had an outstanding balance--but they couldn't tell me how much it was. I was told someone would check and call back "as soon as possible." That never happened. The next day, I called the office and was told my balance looked like it was around $4,500, but things were "confusing." They also said they were going to do something for me on price because what had happened to that point was unacceptable. I was promised a call back the following day. That never happened. A few days later, after multiple unanswered calls, I was told someone would contact me right away. No one ever did. Finally, on January 13--six months after the roof was completed and after months of silence--they suddenly sent an invoice with no explanation. This company: * Removes siding and leaves homes exposed * Delivers materials without notice * Leaves nails and debris behind * Ignores customers for months * Cannot explain their own billing There is zero accountability and zero professionalism here. I would strongly advise anyone considering Northern Lights to look elsewhere unless you enjoy chasing people down, protecting your own home from their negligence, and receiving surprise invoices months later with no communication. When our Furnace went out on New Year's Eve evening, Erv Smith responded within 30 minutes and after a lot of work got the furnace operating again to get us through the holiday. They even provided us with 4 heaters in case the Furnace went out again. I worked with them on several bids and had them install a new Trane 97% efficient Unit on January 5. The installer team was great, cleaned up everything and hauled away our old Furnace. Over the many homes and years, we have owned in 6 states around the USA, I have had to install 5 furnace units. Everyone was very nice and polite and the basic window cleaning was great. However, the crew was young and didn't seem to have a clear plan on who was doing what which is possibly why things were not done. Attention to detail was lacking. Several sills were not wiped at all including a couple where there were even dead flies left behind. One of the glass cabinets was completely missed. Furniture that was moved to access the glass was not put back. There was even a disagreement between two of the workers with one suggesting the other was just standing around. Kind of felt they didn't care so much about the quality of their work and there was obvious no checks done to make sure everything had been done much less done well. I reached out via email including attaching photos but received no response. Invoice was sent via email 10 days later with no reflection of adjustment for missed work. Would'nt hire them again.

They took the screens to have them repaired and stated they would bring them back in a week. Two months later still no screens and they have not been out to restrain the affected shakes! I have made several attempts to contact them by phone and by email with no success! At this point I just what my damaged screens back or pay for replacements as replacements are not cheap!
