They didnt make me feel weird or awkward. I have had some bad experienced as a Black man in a doctor's office. The doctor and nurse were very very knowledgeable and helpful (great bedside manner). Now what stood out to me was the fact that they have different large cards that has patterns on it. In stead of a nurse yelling out your name the nurse finds the card that matches theirs. SOOOOOO dope!!! This is the first time I have experienced this and you can tell they listen to their patients. I hate when my name is yelled out in a drs. Office it is intimidating and uncomfortable. I was a weekly patient at that practice, and unhappy but had only had that kind of chiropractic care in the past and didn't know something less invasive and more gentle existed. Until I started seeing Dr. Crockett. His approach is the opposite of what I'm used to, and I no longer dread chiropractic care. Dr. Crockett's methods are gentle, safe and very effective, and he uses technology to help guide interventions, which makes sense in these modern times. Dr. Crockett's office staff are professional, friendly, and will do their best to get me in at a moment's notice, something I greatly appreciate. I went for a new patient intake. Parked right outside their door, which was not allowed. How was I to know? No signs, etc. I wanted to get my son in there for some badly needed spine work. Due to the demands of my son's job the only time he can get to appointments is Friday afternoons. I explained this to the doctor and asked if we could have the intake appt. on a Friday afternoon and he said YES. When I asked Carolyn to make the appt. SHE WOULD NOT. She said I would just have to keep calling to see if there were any Friday cancellations. Apparently the office closes Friday afternoons so they all can go home early.... well that's nice, but what about what the doctor said?? -smh- I just didn't feel like doing battle with her. My son still needs a chiro, but we'll go someplace else. Goodness knows that there are a ton of chiropractors around, and lots of Palmer (School of Chiropractic) graduates, as well.

Just walked in, no call ahead, and they had me in an examination room within 30 minutes with an able and courteous nurse. One D.O. was on duty and had to bounce around between patients, putting out brush fires--I get that. Dr. Brown has a jokey bedside manner, which I dislike intensely, but I was civil. He seemed capable when he focussed. Dr. Vallejo (sp?--he seemed of oriental extraction) examined me the next day for possible neurological damage and had an efficient and dignified bedside manner. When you don't laugh at Dr. Brown's silly jokes, he seems to acquire an animus. He had his nurse remove the stitches and said over his shoulder that if any were left in place, "they'd just fall out." In fact, I did have to remove some missed stitches when I got home. I have been told by other professionals that forgotten stitches, once wetted, can become deep infection courts. Cost was only a little over $265 for three visits, which I consider good value. However when I checked out for good, I told the receptionist that I would settle all charges right then. She told me I was paid up with them--but I got a $65 bill in the mail some days later. Probably just a failure to explain their SOP, but leaves a bad taste.
