The staff is beyond rude. Took my son here one day so he could get his favorite pancakes. For whatever reason this particular day, they decided to ignore me and my son for over 20 minutes while helping every other patron that came into the restaurant. So we left and have not been back. I was thinking to give them another try since it had been about six months since that incident. However, the way they treat DoorDashers is absolutely appalling, and I refuse to bring my business back to a place that already ignored me and my son and also treats myself and other Dashers very poorly. Apparently the staff at this restaurant does not realize that DoorDashers are also patrons of their restaurant. They have forever lost my business. It was once again a late date night with the hub bub, but it is to be expected with his own kitchen schedule. After a round of bar BINGO and a couple of pool games we came to EbeneeZer's for dinner. It was a little late so the crowd was minimal and there was live music. We sat at the bar and we got served right away by the bartender with the VERY good hair! She was so cool and made good drinks. Of course I was looking for fried pickles and found them. I initially ordered the grilled salmon but they were out of stock and ordered the Big Bob's fish and chips as runner up. The hub bub got the hot beef sandwich (he is now turned into a ND boy lol). While waiting for the food, we listened to the gentleman singer (who can SING btw) and the hub bub requested my song, Seminole Wind. Now review time, the fried pickles are FIRE!! I love how they are the actual spears and they had a nice lil' kick to them. Right now, these fried pickles are neck and neck with Ironhorse Kitchen fried pickles. I really like fish and chips (ever since Skippers) and I was glad the salmon was out of stock in the end because I loved my dinner. The fried cod was perfectly breaded and had a fresh taste. Squeeze the lemon on top and be ready to chomp away. Make sure you order the overseas chips, cause I didn't specify and got the American ones instead, I did get the other ones though. Unfortunately the hub bub wasn't feeling his hot beef sandwich but dinner was about me and I loved mine. Recommend: fried pickles, Big Bob's fish and overseas chips. read more

I came. I saw. I Caesar'd. Walked into Ebeneezer's expecting maybe a sandwich and a soft drink. Left feeling like I had just dined in the secret Irish wing of Caesar's Palace. Who knew a humble wrap could make me consider writing poetry? I ordered the Caesar wrap, and it was a romaine thunderstorm wrapped in a tortilla cloud. Perfectly grilled chicken, just the right amount of dressing (not the dreaded "soggy scroll of lettuce" situation), and a flavor combo so powerful it made me briefly question my loyalty to all other wraps. Then came the homemade chips--crispy, golden, probably made with a whisper of Irish magic and a deep fryer that's seen some things. I would trust those chips to hold national secrets. And the Irish fries? Crunchy. Fresh. Dignified. If your average fry is a napkin, these were pressed linen tablecloths. They crunched like they were making a point. I didn't even need ketchup--just a quiet moment of respect. Service? Friendly and fast. Atmosphere? Cozy with just enough pub vibes to make you feel like someone might start singing The Cranberries at any moment. Highly recommend. Will return. Stopped in for lunch and tried the bangers and mash. This is a fun and happening place in the evening with good music and drinks, but I have yet to find a meal that I would come back for. Very unimpressed with the canned mushy green beans soaking in bean water that was my side dish. I could have made myself a much better meal at home. Nevertheless, let's talk quickly about the food. It's an Irish Pub with Irish Pub food. I don't say that negatively or to be overly critical but to help you put into perspective what you should expect when you eat here. They have the usual items such as fish and chips, Shepard's pie, and other delicious pub food. Therefore, if you're looking for an Irish Pub with Irish Pub food that has an Irish Pub flair, this place will not disappoint (5 Stars). Now, on to the true reason for the review. Eb's has two entries, one for the bar/eating area and the other for just an eating area. Let me explain. North Dakota has a state law that does not allow kids to be present in a "bar" area. This means if a restaurant or eating establishment serves alcohol, kids are not allowed to be in the same area where the alcohol is being served (I know, weird and a bit extreme, I don't get it either). Because of this law, many eateries across the state are configured to allow an eating area away from the other eating areas that are situated where drinks are served. If you're there for the drinks/food and are void of children, then enter on the left and enjoy. However, if you're there for the food and have kids, enter on the right and get ready. Upon entering, you will be met with a small, virtually inadequately sized dining area with about 4 to 5 booths on the left, 4 to 5 hightops tables to the right, and one large table in the middle that might bump into your knees depending on how tall you are and how fast you enter the establishment. You will have to seat yourself but you wouldn't know that if I didn't tell you. If seats are not available, then you are left standing awkwardly in the restaurant staring at others while they eat and you wait. Needless to say, they don't have a waiting area, and if you come for lunch you better be early or you'll be the unlucky soul standing and staring. This review is not meant to demean or defame but, instead, to provide you a descriptive review that will aid in your decision to eat here or not based on the ages of the people within your party and your party's volume of patrons. I understand that this is old downtown Minot and, therefore, the establishment has what it has to work with as far as space goes. Honestly, the fact that it is so small and limited might just be part of its charm. Nonetheless, try it out to decide for yourself. read more

First time visit to Ebeneezer's. We got there just after 6 o'clock and managed to grab the last table available. Place was packed which is always a good sign. For being back we got waited on in a hurry and our waiter was awesome. He was good with suggestions and house specialties which we needed to know. We got the ultimate breakfast sandwich, an omelette, A couple of wraps and a chicken tender stacker. Portions were very substantial and everything tasted great. The Irish fries we a big hit plus they had their own version of a great fry sauce. I really liked this place plus they serve Pepsi and that's always a plus. Not a bad place near downtown Minot. Traditional Irish fare. I had the Pub Burger (double layer of meatloaf with cheese. It was undercooked in the middle, but still medium. I would have asked for it to be done a bit more. The other in our party had the regular burger, and she said it was good. Stopped in as a party of 2 for a late breakfast. I had the corned beef with over-easy eggs, hold the bread and skipped the drink. The food came out hot and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The corned beef was on point. There were large chunks of real corned beef - mixed with hash browns. I think I'd prefer potato chunks over shredded, but thats purely my preference for texture. Corned beef is inherently salty, so no shock that the sodium was more than I should have had. All in all I left satisfied with a completely unhealthy meal, which was exactly what I was craving! One of the first places my brother brought us in minot was Ebeneezer's, as he goes in regularly with his sergeant and other co-workers. He ordered the fat frog which speaks for itself, as I ordered the angry frog. Similar to the fat frog just with pepper jack cheese and a little more kick. Service was 5/5 and talked with us a little bit. The inside was typical for an Irish pub, but the only thing keeping it from a 5 star would be the food itself, the cheese wasn't fully melted and the hoagie roll was slightly stale. Still very good but looked slapped together very quickly. Overall, food was good, service was excellent and the house sauce served with the fries is a nice addition. read more
