We visited this church for the first time on Easter Sunday of 2017; and our entire families life has been changed like never before! From the moment we approached the gate there was a lighted signed that stated "first time visitors, turn your headlights on". We did so and noted that there were greeters there to meet us, along with special parking reserved for us!!! even though no one was expecting us!! The greeters were so efficient that by the time we parked, they were there to open open our doors for us with heartfelt Welcome!!, one of them, then escorted us to the welcome desk. On approaching the desk, I noted there were two ladies there, as i looked around for my family each of them were already engaged in conversation with someone of their age group or from one of the ministries of the church that might appeal to them. The welcome was so warm it felt homely!! and real, not fake and pretentious.... As we entered the sanctuary, again, everyone greeted us so warmly, My thoughts were lets see how long this last. The praise and worship was to die for..... not just a group of people singing but those that know how to Praise the Lord and to usher you into His presence to Worship the Father. It felt like I had died and went to Heaven. The SERMON....was not just a burst of loud barking, but the word of God being taught so simple, effectual and relevant, simple and succinct that a child can understand. Fastforward......... It's now been a year and am still attending Canaan Land and nothing has fallen off the cart or by the wayside. This church is all that a church should be and more homebase, a community partner, a school, a place of refuge, a place of fun and family time, a shelter, a hand in time of need just to name a few, this church is just phenomenal. If you don't have a church home come visit US!! at Canaan Land International, Snellville Georgia. Am sure your life will not be the same after your visit.

The Landmark Church has been home to a great many people. I was born and raised in this church and…read moreeven though we've had trials and tribulations, Jesus has seen us thru the darkness with His guiding light. The congregation is a wonderful mixture of different peoples- all of us working and praying together to be His voice in Norcross, Georgia. Landmark does have a dress code: wear clothes. Each year, the staff and pastors seek God's direction for the church and they designate a special verse from the Bible that encompasses the vision and mission of Landmark. This year's verse is: "We are the house of God, the gateway to Heaven..." (Genesis 28:17) Landmark offers live praise and worship each Sunday via the Landmark Band (comprised of an electric guitar, electric bass, acoustic drums, electric keyboard, and lead with back-up singers. If you're particularly blessed when attending, you'll be granted a Grand Piano performance by Pastor Jeanette Kelly. The services last from 10:30 AM thru 1:00 PM on average. However, sometimes the services run over when the worship, praise, and/or word flow heavily- but don't worry the chairs (not pews) are comfortably cushioned! Landmark is a charismatic-style Church, so don't be surprised if someone in the congregation gets a word from God and shares it with us. Landmark reaches out to the community through a number of different events and services. The staff and congregation maintain a clothing closet for whomever might need it. They also offer a wonderful bread ministry (care of Masada Bakery and Publix). Speaking of food- Landmark has a once-monthly luncheon that is open to all and is provided for by the church. The luncheons are designed to promote fellowship amongst the congregation as well as to build healthy relationships with members of the community. Each year, in the summer, Landmark Church operates a Vacation Bible School (VBS) that is open to any child between the ages of 8-14 years old. VBS always has free breakfast, lunch, and snacks as well as a variety of fun activities designed to teach about Jesus while building healthy friendships. The hours for VBS are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Now, this may or may not be the place God has for you to set down roots, but I can guarantee that you'll feel His presence in this wonderful church. I highly recommend a visit! I also highly recommend repeated visits and church membership, but no pressure! We're just happy to see new faces and receive the word with them (you).

JCA is just one of the many churches belonging to the AMI (Acts Ministries International) family which primarily serves college communities. With that said, JCA was planted in close proximity to the G Tech, GSU, and Emory campuses. JCA has been my home church for over 6 years, and I serve as the co-leader of the hospitality team, which provides yummy refreshments after service. Service & Parking information: This particular location on Sheridan serves the young adult community (post-undergraduate and beyond) Sunday's at 1:30 PM, within the Westminster Presbyterian Church facilities (who have graciously allowed us to use their fellowship hall, beautiful sanctuary, and kitchen). If you have young children and infants, the Children's Ministry can accommodate you while you are in service, watching over the little people and incorporating Sunday School Bible stories and games. There are plenty of parking spaces in the lot adjacent to the church. The college service starts at 11 AM in the Architecture Auditorium on the Georgia Tech Campus. Free parking is located within a parking deck just a couple of blocks away. Events and traditions: I appreciate JCA because of its organization, but I love it because of how much focus is on prayer and the Word. Twice a year, JCA has retreats and prayer vigils; once a year, we have what we would call, Journey Bowl. Basically, it's a friendly competition between FGs (described in further detail below) consisting of relatively non-athletic games. We recently had one of our biggest and most important services: Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! The attendance was definitely over 400, and you are expected to prepare your stomachs for menu items such as: pinwheels, spaghetti & meatballs, deviled eggs, tres leches, and more! I'm on Hospitality team, so I'm biased, but seriously...who isn't big on food? JCA Bible studies are more commonly known as FGs (or Family Groups). These are broken down in personal preference of where you live (i.e. Clarkston, Buckhead, etc), if you are a student then where you go to school, and what day you want to meet. FGs meet weekly to incorporate an intimate setting of sharing and fellowship. There is so much more, but I guess with anything, you can't truly experience anything through a Yelp review. So, come join us for service! You'll most likely find me behind the table with food post-service talking with someone or stealing bites!

My wife and I have missed only one fish fry at St Marguerite in the past 4 fours and that is because we were out of the country. We have Jewish and Buddhist friends that come here just for the fish fry as well. You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy a great fish dinner.

Non Orthodox Visitors: All are welcome to enter the church but only members can take communion. Dress code is strictly observed- long modest dress, covered hair and shoulders. Expect long intervals standing barefoot. Nothing is in English. Experience: I typically don't go to Ethiopian Orthodox Churches primarily because- lack of introductory material and indifference to visitors! On this occasion I came at the behest of my grandmother- for "Aster-eyo Mariam", a venerated holiday in the EO Church. Driving up to the gate, I was flagged by an attendant who directed me to drop off my grandmother at the church entrance and ushered me to a prime parking spot. This never happens! I took my shoes off & was given a plastic bag by another church attendant. Another connection! What followed; liturgy, teaching and congregation culture was like every other EO church in the U.S...EXCLUSIVE. Space: The interior is breathtaking. The walls plastered by iconography maintain the integrity of the traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox church. Most of the churches I have been to in the U.S. haven't fostered artwork like Mariam. Strangely, Instead of pews there are individual cushioned seats- the green seats clashed with the floors red rug. Space could fit around 300 easily. I wont be returning of my own volition. Had there been resources for visitors then perhaps. For now I will stick to forays at Greek churches.

I attended a wedding ceremony at Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North, so this review is written…read morefrom my perspective and experience as a wedding guest. At the time of writing this review, there are three Atlanta Chinese Christian Churches (known as "ACCC" or "A triple C") in metro Atlanta: this one in Alpharetta, the original in Tucker (also known as the "mother church" as I've heard it referred to several times), and a relatively new location in Marietta known as ACCC Northwest. I visited the original ACCC in Tucker in 2001, when I was an undergrad at Georgia Tech and new to Atlanta, for Sunday school and church service. It would be 17 years until I returned to an ACCC campus (this one). This church is located on the east side of Alpharetta, near Johns Creek, and not too far from Duluth. It's in the suburbs north of town and a solid 40-minute drive, at least, from downtown Atlanta. This is a nice-looking church that looks fairly modern with ample parking and comfortable, theater-style seating in the sanctuary. I only visited the lobby, sanctuary, and men's restroom. The front of the church is nice because there's a covering above the driveway, directly in front of the main entrance, which allows people to stay dry, if it's raining, when they're dropped off and picked up. The lobby and hallways outside the sanctuary are relatively spacious. The sanctuary itself is functional. I like how the rows of seats gradually slant downwards towards the elevated stage. This means there's less of a chance of people's heads in front of you blocking your view. The seats were comfortable and the viewing angles and sight lines were excellent. The sanctuary has a contemporary look with vaulted, slanted ceilings, good lighting, and plenty of ventilation. I guesstimate there were about 100 or so guests at the ceremony. The venue was quiet and intimate. I thought the sanctuary was a practical place to hold the ceremony. The bride, groom, their parents, the wedding party, and others walked down the beautiful, floral-decorated center aisle to the stage. The bride, groom, and officiant were up on stage, easy for everyone to see, while the wedding party stood on the steps (also easy for everyone to see). The sound quality over the sanctuary's ceiling-suspended speakers was great. The audio was loud, crisp, and clear. The multiple microphones worked well. Those who spoke or sang over the microphones were easy to hear and the music sound quality, both live and recorded, was very good. One thing I appreciated about the sanctuary was how well it handled large group photos. After the ceremony was over, the bride and groom arranged for professional photographers to take various group pictures of them with their wedding guests. Some of the groups were quite large, but the wide stage and multiple steps made it easy to take big group shots. The photographers had their fancy studio-style flashes set up and ready to go. The photo session was quite efficient thanks to slides, projected on two projection screens above either side of the stage, that instructed which group was to come to the stage for photos and which group was next up. In addition, someone was on a microphone to help direct the crowd. I thought that (the whole photos thing) was a terrific idea. Finally, the men's restroom was clean and in good condition.
