I have patronized John's Shoe Store for about 8 years. Over that time I have purchased 5 pairs of…read moreshoes. These are shoes that I use for dancing, running, working out and casual work wear. I don't buy a lot of shoes but have not had to. The shoes purchased from John's are always of good quality and the service is courteous and knowledgeable. In addition to this, the store is well stocked and generally has the shoes a person wants on hand so you don't have to wait for something to be ordered.

AND SLIPPERS!" So, I walked right back to the window full of shoes that inspired her wish, and walked through the door. Irving himself, I assume, was there cobbling a pair of shoes (I think he does a lot of shoe and zipper repairs). I wove through the many piles of shoes and other items and found a pair of pink, flowered, light-up sneakers for my daughter as well as a pair of fuzzy puppy slippers that I knew she would love to receive. Fast forward to Christmas: she was thrilled. Wears the sneaks all the time. The puppy slippers were too small. Luckily, Irving let me know during our conversation as I explored his shop that if the slippers didn't fit, I could certainly return them and he will happily get us the right size. When I get back to town, I will do so! Final note: the owner was so friendly and went above and beyond as far as customer service and engagement. He was delightful to chat with as I shopped. Makes me want to keep shopping locally at this tiny, chaotic, and lovely shoe store.

Richard spent time with me and advised no ortho usage needed. He fitted me to Narrow shoes that were a few sizes larger than what i was wearing at the time. I was game to experiment as I already knew my current state and issues. It was one of my best decisions I ever made. I have been in his fitted shoes for 10 months now and have been great. All my adaptations happened as he said they would. I am walking and running totally ortho-free for the first time in decade and a half. I just ran the Newport marathon with a Boston Marathon qualification time. My hips, shins and feet are doing just fine. I can't Thank Richard enough and I highly recommend him to anyone even slightly interested. He carries some of the top lines and fits them to you after you pick out which one you like best. I admire that he can stay open given the big store competition. Remember he is alone and tries to accommodate everyone. He is without doubt very knowledgeable about shoes and feet. Plan just a few extra minutes and you will be well serviced. I save up for my trips to see him. Right now, he is getting spring and summer shoes in and I can't wait to see them. She told me it was closed. I had lots to try on so I said I'm sorry and put the clothes I had neatly over the rack closest to us because her hands were full. She immediately began to yell at me that people throw clothes everywhere and it's so rude. I replied that I put them there because her hands were full. Screaming at the top of her voice she called me every sware there is. I thought she was going to attack me. When I told the manager, she simply said with a blank face "okay ". The girl was still screaming and swearing. The worst place I've ever gone. When leaving we could still hear her screaming and swearing from the other end of the store.
