I love this library! Everytime I go, there are tons of book options, it's clean and organized, and the staff is always ready to help. Most recently, I came here for a meeting, and we used the back room. This was a great space for a meeting. It was a medium sized room, but there were tons of chairs and even a spot of food to be. I really liked how you had to walk through the library to get to it... it felt like you were apart of the library instead of feeling isolated off to the side. Another I love about this library is the safety and convince. At the doors there are security like pillars and you can even drop off your books at the slot outside. This location is very convenient for me because I live close to the area. I like how it isn't too big, like the main location, but it is easier to locate what exactly you are looking for. "Love public library". I always loved going to the library as a kid to check out books and rent movies. Now with the age of the Internet, I have to be honest, it is not often I visit a library. So, again it was nostalgic experience. This library is huge and I love their kids section! Yes, we will be visiting more often. I like the thought of "renting" books because it's nice to not to have to always buy them. My daughter was so excited to see so many books and it was funny to hear her say "can we buy this book"? Throughout the year, they have live performances - dances, plays, storytimes, etc. For adults, there are quiet places to read and mellow out. Will I be visiting the library more now? Of course, I will, now that I'll be living a bit closer to one. read more

This library has saved my family hundreds of dollars over the course of the last two years. It is not nearly as big as the Central Library on Goodwood, but it definitely serves its purpose. It's too bad that at least half the DVDs are in the mediocre condition that they are in. It appears that at least half do not play properly, I wish there was more monitoring on them. Otherwise they have most of the children's book that my daughter is looking for and if a book or DVD is currently checked out they will notify me via email when it arrives. Yes , it appears that they utilize technology to make it easier on the community. A book is due three weeks from the date you check it out, but you can check it out again up to three time online if no one has reserved it. So yeah, pretty cool! read more

The recently remodeled this branch, and it's much nicer than before. There is a large section of DVDs to choose from. The new books are all up front by the DVDs. There is a room just for teens, and a rooms for kids. There are chairs throughout the library for comfortable reading. And a little patio area outside for reading. read more

A nice library that is more convenient to go to than the main one if you're located near the Bluebonnet area. It provides the necessities- like popular books, DVDs (if you still use those..... Looking at their collection though, I am amazed and will likely actually check a couple out), and computer usage/printing and scanning, study areas and a children's section. I will be going to this one more often for my study and quiet time needs! TIP:: You can print up to $2.00 worth of pages a day for free! Each black and white page is $0.10. read more

It is said that people are shaped by their experiences. That said, this library is a part of me. I remember going on monthly trips with my school group to work on two paragraph reports in the children's room. Every now and then a few of us would sneak off to read graphic novels in the YA section. After I received my second level card, a portal to a whole new dimension was opened. Many times I walked out with stacks and stacks of books, even to the point of only finishing half of my adventures. Nowadays I don't make it there as much as I would like, but it is still an immense pleasure when I can. With the new updates on their way, the fun may be just beginning. So, if you will excuse my bias, I suggest you pay Bluebonnet a visit. read more

The bluebonnet library is actually one of the better Library's in Baton Rouge. I check out books from here regularly and have gone there to study a few times. They have a great selection of both fiction and non-fiction. My girlfriend and I started using their online system to check out books to our iphones so we can listen to them. It's a pretty sweet setup! read more

This review is for the Children's section alone. My sister and I took our daughters to the children's section to read yesterday and were treated so poorly by the librarian that was working in that section. My 1 year old took a few books off the shelf and the librarian came over soon after and told her that she couldn't do that anymore. I was watching her nearby and of course would have taken her away if she had made a big mess but she hadn't. The librarian got upset when I told her that I would put them back because she said I would do it incorrectly and then stood on top of me and watched as I tried to put it in alphabetical order. A few minutes later, my 5 year old niece took a book to read from the shelf and the same librarian said "put that in the return to shelf box when you are done!". My niece got scared of her reaction and didn't even read the book. She then went to put it in the return to shelf box and the librarian looked over and rolled her eyes. We promptly left. We have been to several other libraries and have never been treated this way. Typically, librarians that work in this section are excited to see kids explore and encourage them to look at different books. As a parent, I also know to make sure my child doesn't make a big mess. As parents, our hope is to cultivate a joy of reading, books, and libraries for our kids. By having someone reprimand them as they are trying to do this can truly kill this joy. I do hope that this librarian was just having a bad day and does not do this to other kids! read more

If you know what's good for you, you're better off at the Goodwood Library. The people here are kinda rude, telling me 5 mins after I came in that I need to throw my food away. Like yes, I understand it's a library and we should respect the place, but don't tell me that you want me to throw it away bc of the smell. Also, I'm sitting in a pretty secluded area so it's not like the smell will stink up the entire library. And then she had the nerve to tell me, "Oh, I'm just glad you didn't leave crumbs all over the place like most people do." Never coming back here again. This place sucks compared to the Goodwood library. They're lucky I'm even nice enough to give them 2 stars. Bye Felicia read more

This library is in the middle of renovations, but don't let the hinder you from stopping in! Huge DVD collection including some foreign language gems. They keep a selection of new book purchases in the front so you can be one of the first to check the book out. read more

This is probably the nicest library of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library system. It's very placid with excellent views and a very nice genealogy section. There can be some computer issues here, but that is expected in any place with a bank of computers. Overall, Bluebonnet does a good job catering to those living in southeast Baton Rouge and the LSU areas. read more

The person making the closing announcements over the PA system tonight at the Bluebonnet library did so in a very rude and antagonistic manner. I haven't been to this library in a while and was looking forward to a nice relaxing evening. But the tone of these announcements made me feel like I must have taken a wrong turn and ended up at parish prison instead of the library. If this attitude is necessary to control bad behavior among those visiting the library; I will not be returning. It must not be safe. I am a tax payer. I am disturbed and disappointed. read more
