A big Cirque Du Soleil fan here. I've seen 5-6 of shows of theirs. All were amazing. This one was a disappointment. Never thought I'd ever give them 1 star. I'd give none if I could. Saw it at Marymoor Park, Kirkland WA. Coms: 1. Story line poorly developed, unclear. So much unlike Cirque Du Soleil 2. Stage design and decorations so unattractive, ugly, just a bunch of boxes 3. Costume design so unattractive, disturbing even, ugly 4. Choreography unattractive, non-existent pretty much 5. Quite boring 6. Too contemporary/new age 7. I paid 200 per ticket for second 200, row O. Tickets are outrageously expensive and totally not worth it. 8. No beauty in the show unlike their other shows Cons: 1. Always admire the acrobatics. These athletes are amazing no matter the design and choreography 2. The 2 entertainers/clowns were very funny and I'd say the only bright thing about the show. 3. As always, Cirque du Soleil brings a wonderful experience. The show is beautiful and, having lived in Mexico for a while, I think it reflects very well some aspects of their vast culture, plus the water feature is stunning! Also, the tent is nice, and the rotating stage allows you to have a good view no matter where you are sitting, and everyone in the team is nice and willing to help. The price may be in the high range, but definitely worth it. read more

Echo is the latest traveling show by Cirque du Soleil. It is currently located at the Gulf Stream in Hallandale Beach. I was lucky enough to be invited by my sister on Easter Sunday and it did not disappoint. I am always in awe how far these acrobats can push their bodies. They defy gravity, it is so mesmerizing and enchanting to watch. I actually liked this set up because no matter where you sit, you have a pretty good view of the stage. It is not very big so even if you're sitting in the back, you can appreciate the show to the max, unlike bigger venues. I'm not gonna lie. I didn't really understand what the show was about as I was watching it but like I said, you don't really need to because it's a spectacle for the eyes, you don't need to understand. My husband had to explain to me afterwards lol. The drinks and snacks were on the expensive side we paid for two small bags popcorns, two 20oz bottles of soda and a bag of candy $48 so I wouldn't get food there if you're on a budget. Parking of course is free at the Gulfstream. We had to park a little far from the tent because parking lots were full closer to it, but we had lunch afterwards so it worked out good . All in all, it was an amazing experience. If you ever have the chance to watch a Cirque du Soleil show. Do it, you won't regret it. read more

Cirque du Soleil's 'Echo' at Gulfstream Aventura is an indescribable transformative experience. Words will never do it justice. It is something to experience viscerally. I can only do my best, and some of the timelines may not be right; this is my recollection. It starts with a stunning being who appears to be the author of a new origin story. Then, a feminine being with her dog playing around a massive box. The Animal Kingdom then explores the massive box. The performers truly embody each animal, reminding us of the value of every being. After that, the box begins to break unsuspectingly by the most curious performer-very fun. What begins to happen as the box opens ... MAGIC- Is as close to a word as I can describe. I've seen many Cirque du Soleil - to me, Echo is my husband's favorite. I only wish we would have gone sooner. While the story, performers, music, costumes, and visuals undoubtedly deserve 5 stars individually, 'Echo' transcends traditional ratings. This was my 5th Cirque Show and it did not disappoint. My partner purchased tickets as a surprise for my daughter. It was her first show. It was wonderful to be able to share this experience with her. She was amazed by the beauty and sheer talent. Watching her face as the aerialists flew above her was priceless. We went to see the show under the big top Gulfstream Park in Hallandale. I would suggest getting lunch or dinner in the area before or after as the food options are limited and drinks are very expensive. Patsy, the concierge was extremely helpful as I was looking for a program but they did not have any printed. She helped me scan a QR code for their digital program. This is one of Cirque Du Soleil's newest touring shows and it didn't disappoint. I only expect the best from this company and this show was spectacular. It's currently in Hallandale at the Gulfstream Park under the big top. This massive installation is like a mini Cirque city complete with a beer garden, 2 bars, food concessions, a VIP lounge, restrooms, and a retail area for merch. Don't expect the seats to be comfortable They're very snugged and you will probably bump a stranger elbow to elbow. My advice to the be-friend your seat mated before the show and you'll be comfortable for the rest of the night. As far as the concession selection goes, the food was quite reasonable, however, the cocktails were astronomical. $18 for single and $30 for double. I'd stick to beer which is around $10 (I think it was). Or just have dinner or drink at one of the restaurants in Gulfstream before the show. The good thing also is the free parking since Gulfstream has massive parking lots. Normally, Cirque charges parking at other locations like Hard Rock Stadium. As for the show itself, I was honestly very entertained. The set was beautiful and the costumes were very tastefully designed. The acts were superb as expected from any Cirque show. You'll be wowed by the variety of performances. There were moments when everyone was biting their nails cause of the difficulty of the act. Of course, there was also comedy with Cirque's signature "clown-like" hosts who interacted with the crowd. I've been to 97% of the Cirque touring shows and they always have these funny acts in the beginning and certain parts of the show to make people laugh. Overall, it was a must-see show. This was my first ever experience at Cirque Du Soleil If Im rating the talent alone it would be 1000000/10 they were amazing I would def recommend VIP, they have their own bar, bathroom and parking They have free drinks and food (the food was a kind of small bites area and they would go around w tiny plates of meat etc) they also had a bar where you could order more high end drinks. They allowed you to walk in with two drinks pp at a time and gave you free popcorn. Vip also got a snag bag which ive pictured The show was magical and truly the only reason Im not giving it a 5 is because i wish there were a section where they put kids and a section and where can pick to be kidless because sadly the little girl behind me wouldnt stop screaming or kicking my chair But I recommend everyone go watch it and do VIP if you can read more

17 Women went to the show on March 3 and were harassed by the person behind them. Security told the guy to stop but of course there was nowhere to put him so for two hours we dealt with a guy heckling my elderly aunts. I immediately emailed cirque when security didn't do anything. I was then called by their corporate office in Canada by a person named Fred, who said that he's not really sure if that ever even happened, but he was not interested in speaking to any of the other 16 women. I think they racist in Canada as it is, but this was totally unacceptable. Fred is very much a victim blamer the type to say a girl was assaulted bc of how she was dressed. I cannot believe more wasn't done, and in fact, nothing was done. 17 tickets all women over the age of 40 and under the age of 70. We were told sorry Charlie. read more

"Could've been better" as 2 stars on Yelp denotes, perfectly sums up my experience and my general thoughts about Echo, one of Cirque du Soleil's traveling "tent shows" that was performed on the grounds of Gulfstream Park. I've been to more than a dozen Cirque du Soleil performances, at both their permanent installations in Vegas and various traveling tent shows like this one that have come to the Miami area, going back nearly 20 years. Simply put, Echo was one of the weakest I've seen. Rather than a proper Cirque production with creative and artistic costumes, makeup and props with elaborate scenery, all tied together with a common theme, Echo was more like a disjointed series of acts that they cobbled together and the common thread was a giant rotating cube on stage and most performers wearing all white, with splashes of color at times. Any of the various acts and artists we saw could've been replaced in favor of any number of other random acts and the show wouldn't really be affected by it. Nothing we saw during Echo really "wowed" us as other Cirque shows have. In short, it was not up to Cirque's usual standards, it appeared to be done on the cheap and it really felt like they just threw something together, stamped the Cirque logo on it and are selling on the Cirque brand name. This show simply wasn't worthy of that. Aside from the actual performance, a number of other things on the night we came here were off. For starters, when we arrived at Gulfstream Park, there was zero signage indicating where on their massive property the Cirque tent had been set up, no signage for parking, etc. None of that was indicated on the Cirque website, either - we looked. We pulled into the main entrance at Gulfstream about 20 minutes before the show, which should've been plenty early - but by the time we found out (by stopping Gulfstream employees who were walking to their cars following their shifts and asking them) where the Cirque tent was located, then found parking, got inside, etc. we had time to quickly buy a beverage, and as we were paying the guy told us to RUN to get our seats, or they'd soon be closing the entrances and we'd need to wait out in the common area until after the first act when we'd be seated. Luckily we made it inside in time. The amount of restroom facilities they had here were also inadequate vs. the amount of patrons. During the intermission we came outside and the long, winding lines for the portable toilets caused probably a 15 minute wait for some. As we were going back inside to be seated for the 2nd half, there were still people waiting in line for the restrooms. We had also hoped to get a snack during the intermission, but no chance. We visited the concessions both inside the tent and outside near the main entrance as we simply wanted a hot dog or even popcorn to munch on. No luck. All of them were out of hot foods completely. As stated at the beginning of my review, most everything we saw and experienced on this night from the time we arrived was really only worthy of 2 stars, for "could've been better". read more

The show was amazing, the venue was awesome. There isn't a bad seat in the house. We sat about 4 rows back and it was great. Acrobatics and music all great. Drinks were super expensive though. I paid $50 for 2 drinks. That's a bit much... read more
