He showed up for one day of work, during which his machine broke down, and he completed only about 25% of the removal job(have not started on stump grinding yet). He then pressured my elderly parents, who are both in their eighties and suffer from Alzheimer's, into paying him $2,000. They are not in a condition to handle high-pressure situations, and I was not present at the time. Given that $2,000 significantly exceeded the value of the work completed, the contractor happily chose not to return and instead began making a series of excuses. At one point, he offered to refund $1,000, but when I tried to collect the refund, he changed his story again saying he will come back to finish but stopped responding to me. It appears he does not keep his words, lie consistently, and is willing to take advantage of vulnerable people whenever the opportunity arises.

Awful Quality of Firewood. The "Seasoned" wood I just had delivered was absolute highway robbery…read more Avoid this place at all costs... I just ordered a cord of "seasoned" firewood and it was absolutely saturated with water. I'll overlook the fact that it arrived 5 days after they said it would (at 9:45PM on a Wednesday before a snowstorm) as well as fact they almost delivered a truck load of wood chips, instead of firewood and only tell you about the quality of the firewood. I've had it stacked next to my woodstove for 1.5 weeks, trying to get it to dry and I still can't get it to burn properly. Each log weighs about 4 x what it should because it is so saturated. I've burned 4 cord of wood this winter and had zero problems with any of it, until I bought from S&K. I understand that it's winter and some of the may not be fully seasoned, but at the very least, don't charge me the full $240!!! I've had great luck with these guys in the past when ordering mulch and top soil. This experience was very disappointing and I'll never give them my business again.
