Ken the owner is a real funny dude and his workers there know the products they sell. I did find out that they have killer deals on used items. Just ask them about what they have. I'd give it a full 5 stars if the hours were better, but it seems that most grow stores close early. Some of us who work 9-5 mon-friday miss out on swinging by the store after work. I have shown up right before closing, and no one gave me a hard time, so that part is cool.

All our logs have produced on flush of mushrooms and are guaranteed to produce again as long as our simple instructions are followed. Chemical free water is necessary and keeping it out of the mud, direct sunlight and away from male dogs for the obvious reason. We ship to anywhere in the USA except Hawaii. We harvest the alder logs from our property in Oregon, we purchase our dowels to inoculate the logs from Oregon company and we personally care for these logs until they start to produce shiitake then they are available to the general public either online thru our website.

They don't have a huge web presence, they don't have a farm stand, they don't have pre-picked carts of berries... What this place does have, and which is exactly what I wanted, was a large plot of mature blueberry bushes, full of berries, for a great price. When I went -- 7/24/16 -- the price was $1.60 a pound. This year it's near the end of the season but they told me their official season is "July / Aug". Today, many other u-pick blueberry joints were closed but this was open; I don't know why exactly, but it is near the end of the season. The phone number as reported by the other reviewer is correct -- 503-663-6123 -- and the address is not as yelp has it (which is probably the front entrance to the actual nursery???), but actually on: 30425 SE Haley Rd. Very convenient to Hwy 26. I did spot a porta-potty, but I didn't use it. This place is fairly minimal. They give you buckets, but you need to provide a box or other container to take them home in (I used a shoebox). Cash only -- not that it will take that much!

I am not sure how prices compare with elsewhere but their price list is on their website. A nice amenity is that they have free trailer use with a purchase of bark soil or rock pending availability. Of course they also deliver. It's nice to support a family owned business of this type. They've been open at this location since the 1970s. Besides that, it is incredibly charming that this location has a coffee shop! It used to be operated as Cat's Moon and now it appears to be Boring Bean. Either way, the interior smells absolutely delicious with coffee and pastries. And it's lovely to enjoy your coffee amongst the nursery trees and flowers.

They also sell Kountry Buffet feed, that is tough to find anywhere else. The employees here are nice and very knowledgeable. Every recommendation they have given me has been right on and that's saying something because I ask A LOT of questions. I love that there are always friendly critters running around near their check out area that love getting a quick pet (cats & this low rider pup that is adorable). I'm really grateful for Geren's!
