In 2021, they moved to Sandy. Their website maintains an availability sheet so you can see what they've got before you make the drive out, but it is worth visiting to see the plants in action. They have small display gardens. The entire property is outdoors so dress warmly in case of rain. They're open year round, but at a high enough elevation that they get snow in winter so plan accordingly. I recently visited looking for plants to go near my frog pond. The staff was so helpful in showing me around to potential options. I have a decent native plant knowledge but they've got so many options! Plants I've never heard of before! As usual, I left with more plants than I planned on getting :) So far, they're happy in the ground, and I can't wait to see how they thrive in spring. Keep an eye on the business's social media for sales. Oh and they accept nursery pots back so you don't have to trash or recycle them!

Ken the owner is a real funny dude and his workers there know the products they sell. I did find out that they have killer deals on used items. Just ask them about what they have. I'd give it a full 5 stars if the hours were better, but it seems that most grow stores close early. Some of us who work 9-5 mon-friday miss out on swinging by the store after work. I have shown up right before closing, and no one gave me a hard time, so that part is cool.

Of course they also deliver. It's nice to support a family owned business of this type. They've been open at this location since the 1970s. Besides that, it is incredibly charming that this location has a coffee shop! It used to be operated as Cat's Moon and now it appears to be Boring Bean. Either way, the interior smells absolutely delicious with coffee and pastries. And it's lovely to enjoy your coffee amongst the nursery trees and flowers.

They don't have a huge web presence, they don't have a farm stand, they don't have pre-picked carts of berries... What this place does have, and which is exactly what I wanted, was a large plot of mature blueberry bushes, full of berries, for a great price. When I went -- 7/24/16 -- the price was $1.60 a pound. This year it's near the end of the season but they told me their official season is "July / Aug". Today, many other u-pick blueberry joints were closed but this was open; I don't know why exactly, but it is near the end of the season. The phone number as reported by the other reviewer is correct -- 503-663-6123 -- and the address is not as yelp has it (which is probably the front entrance to the actual nursery???), but actually on: 30425 SE Haley Rd. Very convenient to Hwy 26. I did spot a porta-potty, but I didn't use it. This place is fairly minimal. They give you buckets, but you need to provide a box or other container to take them home in (I used a shoebox). Cash only -- not that it will take that much!

As far as the good-natured employees, Arango, who appears to be the main Foreman of the nursery has always been in good spirits and extremely helpful in helping me search and load up my truck/car with the best they have to offer from there vast fields. Do Not Buy from Here BEWARE OF WHAT YOU BUY. They are SOOO…read morenice when you walk in but they will sell you nothing but garbage if you let them. My family and I went their last summer; kids had fun and the guys helping you were nice. The problem is that they will tell you everything is good and healthy and they will load your truck up and tell you everything you want to hear before you get a chance to realize your mistake. The problem is that I do not know about trees. The guys will tell you how good the trees are and no matter what they will not tell you that the tree will die or any other problem. They have a one-year guarantee but when I came back days later to ask why my FIVE $200.00 tree roots were only a few inches long and why all the old branches were cut off so that only new growth would appear and why the bark was falling off. All my trees had damage under the bark, you will not see until they all die. I received a look from the owner that scared me and he let me know to drop it, no refund. Now after 13 months all my trees are dying. I could not get a refund. This was not my first purchase from this place. The other trees and bushes all got sickly looking and I realized it too late; I am an idiot. I expect to be sold what I pay for, not garbage. Everyone I have talked to about this told me that all five of my trees should have NEVER been sold.

It was wonderful to be able to call Big Trees and set a time to see their trees. Daniel took us around and also helped us as we considered several types of trees. We determined that a Somerset Red Maple would be large enough and that it would be relatively easy on yard maintenance. The tour helped us decide that we really needed a tall (30' feet) to enjoy in the next few years. Big Trees was excellent at setting up a date and delivering the tree. It was amazing just to watch the equipment as they dug the hole and planted the tree (see pictures). Now we just need to follow their directions. Felix and the staff planting the tree were easy to work with. They helpled take down and reinstall part of our fence and they cleaned upt he site very well.

It wasn't the chain brake! Tim took one look at the chain and said "I know exactly what's wrong!". And he was right! After my last use with a loose chain, the chain was thrown off. After I'd put the chain back on again, it got burred and that's why it was jammed and couldn't travel on the bar. Tim filed down some of the burrs and after less than 5 minutes he was done and tested the chainsaw - success! I was so grateful! I asked how I could take good care of my chainsaw and he took the time to explain how to keep things clean and well maintained. Again, he's a really nice guy. As I was walking out, another customer came in for a hug! C'mon!!
