This is the Cuh-You-Test little hat shop! Sharon really knows her stuff and guys she is soooooo sweet! She helped us out by getting head measurements so we could find just the right fit! I love love love the hat I picked although to be honest at check out I really fell in love with a hat that was almost $400 so hard pass on that one but the one I got was on sale for $30 originally $120! I'm so excited about this little beauty that I did pick though and cant wait to wear it out! Thanks Sharon for your wonderful service!! Check out this spot the next time you're in town guys! Every time I get a chance to stop on by, I'm greeted and treated extremely well. Both Sharon and Diego are great to work with, and so knowledgeable. I've purchased a few hats here, and since Sharon had to order more product from CAPAS, she let me put in an order for a 6-panel patchwork cap from CAPAS. I work as a dispatcher, and as part of my work I like to wear a good hat. It's a philosophy - you put on the hat when you walk in, you take all the crap the job has to throw at you, you take it off at the end of the day and leave all that stress behind you. Sharon found me the absolute perfect hat for the job. I feel like Indiana Jones. Work is an adventure with it on. And outside I don't have to worry about my face getting sunburnt. What a great find!! While vacationing we stumbled upon Eclipse Hat Shop. Diego and Sharon were very patient and helpful. Both offered constructive opinions and picked out a variety of styles and colors for me try on. I ended up buy a hat that I would have never considered before, Thanks Diego. I am a hat person, but my fedoras are the hats closest to my heart. I have a couple dozen, vintage and new. When JFK went hatless at his 1960 inauguration, fedoras were yanked out of mainstream fashion. That's too bad because they look infinitely superior to baseball caps. After studying about fedoras, I purchased a few new ones, and a whole bunch of vintage hats. Now the pandemic lock down is over, and I am ready to don my fedoras once again. Finding the Eclipse Hat Shop for a fedora aficionado, is akin to discovering an oasis in the Sahara Desert. The owner/proprietor Sharon is an expert, and knows her stuff. Sought Eclipse out since my old DT fave closed to make room for a new condo. Was very happy w/ great selection of panamas. Broke tradition and bought a soft brown colored hat from a German owned Co. making hats in Eqyadore. It is super high quality, the price was good (not a cheap purchase) and the fit was nothing less than perfect. The lovely proprietress fit me w/ a jaunty but understated band feather, and threw in a spare (my second choice) just for good measure. I'm a for real hat guy... Eclipse is all that! read more

Sharon and Diego at Eclipse are so welcoming and helpful. They saw that I left my dog in the car and invited her in for a bowl of water. There was hot tea for the customers and they treat you like a friend. They have a large selection of hats and patiently helped me find the perfect one for a gift. They also repair your hats. This is a rare find! An artisan and restorer, Sharon has talent and an eye for style and is a perfectionist when it comes to a hat. She knows her stuff. She renovated my Dad's 1950s hat. I am so pleased with it. She cleaned it (it had years of dirt and was stained) and sourced new ribbon and redid the inside too! Brings me so much joy to have the hat restored to its previous glory. read more

Nice collection of hats, but very rude and disrespectful staff. The only hat shop in the area which I think is the reason why the owner (or a staff member) feels free to treat customers however she wants. When I went into her shop, at first I thought she was joking with another customer when she told them that their dog farted and that they need to leave the store.... My son (7 year old) liked a flat cap so we took it and were looking for a Fedora for me which was the main reason for our visit. While looking at the fedoras the lady suddenly took the cap from my son and put it back on the stack of hats. Unfortunately I didn't take this very serious and I ignored it, but I wish I had not and had left that store right then and would have had a better day. She then gave me a couple fedoras to try on. She said that the one of them looked good on me hence she's going to sell it to me at a lesser price. The price of that particular hat was a bit high while it also felt a bit loose around my head with the crown sitting on top of my head, so I asked her if she could give me the same discount on the other hat instead. Her response to my request was that I cannot afford to wear these hats and suddenly grabbed the hat and pushed me out of the store. (not forcefully but very disrespectfully by tapping on my back and directing me towards the door). And closed the door behind us! I was speechless of her rude attitude wondering how could someone treat people like this? I wonder how the other people in the store felt about what she did... Bottom line, if this were to be only hat shop on earth I would not go there nor recommend it to anyone. Very rude and disrespectful... terrible experience. I wish there was a zero rating option... read more

Once again, a truly great hat store in Seattle! The owner, Sharon, really knows her hats and has just a terrific collection. She's a pleasure to deal with, too. Many different kinds of hats are to be found here, as well as accessories like hat bands and other ornamentation. I got a fabulous Panama hat (well, from Ecuador) hand made by a master craftsman, highest quality, just beautiful. They have expensive Italian designer hats and more modestly priced everyday wool hats. Lots of styles. If you're a hat person, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. Looking for the perfect hat to provide coverage from the Hawaii sun and on a recent trip to see family near Seattle, found Eclipse hats online. After reading all the reviews, and Sharon's responses, decided to give her a call today, just before the shop opened, to decide whether or not an hour long trip up the 5 was worth it. After speaking with Sharon for one minute, I knew I made the right decision and headed to the shop. Sharon was great! She showed me a variety of styles, tried on many, and found two perfect hats. However, then I was left with a choice between two Stetsons, one felt and one straw. What a dilemma! So,... This is a REAL hat shop -not some touristy place with cheapo hats. Yes, they have hats for all budgets, but their selection is well-curated and every hat is a good one. I'm a hat guy, and was very impressed with their knowledge of hats. They did not try to sell me the most expensive hat, but really worked to find me a hat that suited me. I ended up with a beautiful vintage hat that will fit in well with my hat collection. Highly recommended shop! read more

my partner and I followed chalk drawn hats from pikes market in deep curiosity. It was like we were in a Alice and wonderland scavenger hunt for what the hats could mean. As we followed the hats and arrows, we found ourselves wondering where we'd be ending up. Could this be some sort of underground tea party? Are we going to be seeing a magic show? Sure enough it was all of the above when Sharon showed us just how great we looked donned in hats that made us wranglers, French artists, Irish golfers, guests of a Gatsby party, or even as Carmen San Diego. My husband was in search of a Panama hat during our stay in Seattle. After doing a quick Google search, we headed directly to this shop and were greeted by Sharon (owner) who knows hats and her merchandise. She spent a solid 30 minutes with us helping my husband find the perfect hat for him. When he settled on a gorgeous hat which needed some special care, Sharon immediately realized it was not the right hat for him based on his lifestyle and directed him to an equally beautiful, albeit slightly less expensive, hat. This was my first farmer's market in Washington and it was utterly magical!…read more The produce quality is so amazing and I loved all the variety! The flowers were beyond beautiful. I don't think I have seen more beautiful blooms anywhere else! I love that it was heavily focused on local small businesses, farmers, and FOOD. We stopped for a few bites along the way and were blown away every time. So good. This market is huge and stretches for a few blocks, so be sure to come early and give yourself ample time to explore. Also, with it being in Ballard, there are a ton of cool, hipster shops to browse while you're in the area.
