I always find little treasures here!! I usually find some high-quality goodies in the kitchen section (Pyrex, nice glass baking ware, China sets, heavy drinking glasses, etc). I have to sift through most of the women's wear to find something good, but when I find something good, it's a really great find! I've found a Fossil blazer before for $10 that was in great condition - seems like a good price to me. I have also found several other blazers that weren't necessarily name brand, but fit me perfect. I visit every so often so that I can find nice work clothes for cheap (and everyone always compliments me at work when I wear something new from this thrift store!). I like shopping here more than the mall because I find things that seem to be made for me. Only complaint is that it can feel a little musty and dirty in some sections, but I get it. It's not dirtier than most other thrift stores. read more

Sister got fired her a few months ago because of the manager Jaramillo.She is lazy and unprofessional, they need to fire her immediately all she does it sits downs and yells at the employees to do her lazy work because she doesn't want to. She is the reason people leave this job and get fired here. The other higher ups there also don't care that she HARASSES and EMOTIONALLY ABUSES the employees. If they try to tell them how she is with them, they'll just ignore the employees or fire them because they take her side no matter what, and don't care what the workers have to say if she wants them fired they'll fire them. Corporate needs to look into IMMEDIATELY this she is the reason people hate working there. They also had got covid there once my sister told me, but never told the employees because they wanted to keep it a secret from them. The employees and supervisors are very nice though, and well behaved, but the hiring manager and Jaramillo are emotionally abuses beings at the work place. I've shopped here for years and Community Thrift is a good thrift store. Sure, the lighting is harsh and it embodies that thrift store smell, but this place has got a bunch of stuff, and that is what makes a good thrift store. As for specials... it is common to see two color discounts for the day, usually a coupon can be found in the Southside Reporter, and Military / senior discounts are available. read more

There prices are way too high to me. A lot of the stuff is not in great condition and there asking closer to retail prices. They have a small book section and that is the only reason I go there. I can usually find a few books which are well priced. 1.91 for hardbacks and .44 for paperbacks. My only complaint with the books is that they write on the cover with a marker that generally comes off the glossy covers. However some of the books that have more of a matte finish, it will not come off of. I don't know why they write on them at all. Doesn't seem necessary. read more

Large store with good lighting. There are lots of women's clothes but few real epic *finds*. Occasionally you'll find a garment that still has the price tag on it and when you do find these items, the price will be higher in comparison. Shoes are nicely arranged by color on the tops of clothing racks. Always find good quality boots in good shape. Lots and lots and lots of golf clubs. Smallish selection of books. Bibles, if you find them, are free. Houseware selection is hit or miss. Dressing rooms are not well lit and are small. Only 3 garments allowed at a time. There are four dressing rooms total and you may have to ask that an additional room be unlocked. I've never seen more than 2 open. There's a loyalty program that will save you money with point accumulation. There are two color tags that are discounted each day. Military get a discount every day and 55+ get a discount on Wednesday on those color tags not already discounted. read more

Wow! I haven't been here in about 3 months but I used to visit every 2 weeks looking for bargains. There aren't any! Everything worth buying is so expensive! a cup used to cost 99 cents now costs 1.91. Adult diapers are actually more expensive than at HEB. I collect whiskey flasks and picked one up at Goodwill for 99 cents and a similar one at the Community was almost 4.00! read more

A fairly large thrift store but a tad on the expensive side for such a place. All the typical items are there and are decently presented. The store is fairly well organized and clothes seem to be accurately separated by size. If you're in the neighborhood, give it a shot but not worth a drive IMHO. read more

I go here often. Employees are often rude. But today I probably will never go back after what I saw and heard! I was on the other side of the store and I heard an employee who by the way had her son at work following her around, the employee went up to a family and accused a teen of him stealing a cd. After realizing he didn't steal anything because he volunteered to empty his pockets the employee just walked away. The whole store stopped to look. I felt so embarrassed for the mom and her son. I went up to the mom and told her she can sue for the employee making false accusation and embarrassing him like that in front of the whole store. I have worked retail and managers always say it's a big no no to go up to someone and accuse them! I will be calling the store manager and complaining on the employee! read more

Store is over priced. I went to this store yesterday because I love thrift stores. Who doesn't love a bargain, right? I went straight to the coat/jacket men's section because usually this time of year the jackets sell out fast and I noticed they still had several to choose from on the rack. When I looked at the price tags it was easy to see why they were all still there! They were asking for 40 dollars or more for these jackets! They had a Redskins jacket for $147. I could easily buy a brand new item for those prices. I went to look at some shoes because I love collecting Converse. I found some beat up, dirty ones for $25 dollars. No, thank you! The only thing I bought from the store was something I spotted on my way out the door. It was a Playstation video game for $2.42. Save your money. Go to the Texas Thrift Store down the street or the GoodWill on SW Military and Zarzamora. Better prices for second hand items. I have found clean semi-new Converse chucks for 6 bucks. Shop around if you want a good deal. If you want to pay ridiculous amounts for resale items, then Community Thrift Store is the place to go! read more
