Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout. After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good. Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. We've bought seedlings of all sorts here, and never had a problem transplanting them in the garden. And the houseplants I've gotten recently were healthy and pest-free. My new purple clematis is also doing really well! If you're looking for perennials, most of them are outside on the display tables. Indoors, you'll find more annuals and houseplants that need a bit more controlled humidity and warmth. There are tree saplings out back and more greenhouses to check out. There's even a small furniture shop upstairs. The shop inside is full of quirky products, and as always, super fun to browse or pick out seed packets to try germinating at home. Staff are really friendly and know their stuff. If you're having trouble finding something, they can point you in the right direction or place an order for something that's not in stock. That's how we got our shishito pepper plants this year! Very excited to see how they turn out.

When John Fridy came to meet in person and take a look at my front beds, I explained that I envisioned a pollinator destination that would grow into a lush garden in the years to come. John understood exactly what I was looking for, made an individualized plan, and returned - in person - with pictures of the plants he envisioned throughout my front walk. These included plants that would provide unique interest in the design process, were deer resistant, and would ensure something was in bloom throughout the spring and summer seasons. A few weeks later, he and his team of polite, careful, and professional individuals removed the existing shrubs and placed new shrubs and perennials, using healthy soils and mulch to ensure our new plants would thrive. He claims he misquoted because he did not know it had to go below the frost line , 36in deep . He has tried to add money every week to the job. I did not bring the right equipment to remove roots .. I need 4000 more , I dug the hole for the slab 30 deep so now we need to build a wall 3 blocks hire .. I need $ 8000 more .. Now that we have the slab in the right location .. as per the original plans he wants more money to buy concrete . For a month I have had concrete, wood, trash and debris all of the place. Now that he has been removed from the job he is refusing to refund the money he scammed from me .

I reached out to Matt Burns in the early summer of 2020 for an estimate to replace the clearly…read morefailing railroad tie retaining wall in my back yard. Matt's was one of several estimates I sought, and pricing was all over the place. Matt's bid was competitive and fair, and he demonstrated a depth of knowledge and familiarity that made me immediately comfortable hiring him. Due to scheduling conflicts with another contractor installing a deck for me, I threw Matt a few curveballs. At least twice I had to ask him to move his start date, and when his team did arrive, the deck contractors were totally in his way. Throughout, Matt was patient and focused on his work. The guys he brought with him worked tirelessly over four days to excavate, remove old materials, prepare proper drainage missing from the old wall, rebuild the wall with new EP Henry pavers and regrade the area around the new wall - as well as around my driveway. Matt and his crew went above and beyond, doing extra regrading work not included in his estimate at no additional charge. And they cleaned up the work area at the end of the job beautifully. The wall looks so good that the old, shabby brick pavers by my pool now look sad by comparison. I'll be asking Matt Burns to come back to address that issue, and others, in the future.
